Giorgio Armani #2 Fluid Sheer
Giorgio Armani #2 Fluid Sheer

Giorgio Armani No. 02 Fluid Sheer ($62.00 for 1.0 fl. oz.) is a sparkling, light golden beige with larger, more glittery particles than fine shimmer. It had sheer coverage that illuminated skin when applied as a highlighter on the cheek bones and just barely emphasized pores, but the sheerness made it less apparent (if applied more heavily, I think the effect would be more noticeable). It lasted for seven and a half hours on me before fading. This one also works nicely for decolletage, as the larger shimmer makes it more noticeable to the eye. Laura Geller Gilded Honey (P, $24.00) is more shimmery, darker, more pigmented. Josie Maran Argan Enlightenment (Original) (P, $28.00) is less shimmery, more pigmented. Becca Moonstone (P, $38.00) is less shimmery, darker, more pigmented. Tarte Champagne (LE, ) is less shimmery. Estee Lauder Courreges (LE, $32.00) is less shimmery. Becca Opal (P, $38.00) is darker, more pigmented. Becca Moonstone (P, $38.00) is less shimmery, more pigmented. theBalm Mary Lou-manizer (P, $24.00) is darker, more pigmented. FORMULA SUMMARY | Giorgio Armani Fluid Sheer ($62.00 for 1.0 fl. oz.) is available in fifteen shades that range from sheer beige to sheer yellow to sheer copper. The formula is supposed to “dress skin in an illuminating veil of radiance.” It’s designed to be sheer, though some shades are more buildable than others, and in general, the darker hued shades are going to appear more pigmented and can be used as highlighting blushes or even as blushes (depending on your skin tone) — the brand actually calls out it can be used as “an eyeshadow base, blush, or bronzer” as well as your typical highlighter. It can be used alone, mixed with base products (like foundation, primer, or moisturizing). Some shades are glittery, others are shimmery, and others have very fine shimmer. Alone, I tend to get seven to eight hours of wear with lighter, shimmery shades and closer to ten hours or longer with some of the bolder shades, and it doesn’t seem to impact the wear of my base products (either shortening or lengthening the wear). I like fingertips or a duo-fiber/stippling brush for application using a patting and dabbing motion rather than a lot of sweeping, then a light buffing to diffuse and blend out the edges.

Giorgio Armani Maestro Bronzer
Giorgio Armani Maestro Bronzer

Last year, Giorgio Armani Maestro Bronzer ($64.00 for 1.0 fl. oz.) launched in Sun Kiss (100), which I really loved as a formula. It was limited edition, but this summer, it’s back along with two more shades (one lighter and one darker) and seems to be permanent. I remember last year that I wished for a rosier and deeper shade for darker skin tones, and now we have one lighter and darker! The formula is thin, almost watery, with a velvety feel that has a more satin finish to it–if you’ve tried the Maestro line at all, the texture is very in line with the rest of the range. It sits extremely well on the skin, whether bare or over/under foundation, and it blends out easily and lasts for nine to ten hours. The only thing I’m not keen on is the packaging, which uses a dropper to dispense the product. One bottle contains a mega-ton of bronzer, so it’ll take a long time to get through a bottle, and I’d rather a half-size option for $40 or so instead (same with the brand’s Fluid Sheers).

Giorgio Armani Sun Glow (90) Maestro Bronzer ($64.00 for 1.0 fl. oz.) is a light-medium brown with soft, yellow undertones and a very, very fine golden shimmer-sheen that gives it a more satin finish. It was very pigmented but blendable and easily sheered out if desired. This color doesn’t show up much on my medium skin tone, so it would be better for fairer complexions or for mixing with foundation to add an all-over glow. It lasted for nine hours on me. Make Up For Ever #20M (P, $36.00) is more shimmery, darker, warmer. MAC Golden Rinse (LE, $35.50) is cooler. Giorgio Armani Sun Kiss (100) (P, $64.00) is darker. MAC Sun Dipped (LE, $30.00) is more shimmery, darker.See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Giorgio Armani Sun Kiss (100) Maestro Bronzer ($64.00 for 1.0 fl. oz.) is medium brown with warm, yellow-red undertones and a very fine, golden shimmer that creates a more satin-like finish on the skin. It had rich color coverage in a single drop, and I use about one to two drops per cheek at most (you really don’t need much at all!). It blended out beautifully and wore for nine hours on me. MAC Golden Rinse (LE, $35.50) is lighter, cooler. Hourglass Luminous Bronze Light (P, $50.00) is more shimmery, lighter. MAC Sun Dipped (LE, $30.00) is more shimmery. Make Up For Ever #25I (P, $36.00) is more shimmery. Make Up For Ever #20M (P, $36.00) is more shimmery, lighter. Colour Pop Carry-On (P, $8.00) is warmer. Giorgio Armani Sun Glow (90) (P, $64.00) is darker. Becca Topaz (P, $41.00) is less shimmery. Becca Topaz (P, $41.00) is less shimmery. Too Faced Dark Cocoa (P, ) is warmer, less shimmery. Urban Decay Naked on the Run Bronzer (LE, ) is more shimmery. Wet ‘n’ Wild Bikini Contest (P, $3.99) is more shimmery, warmer. Urban Decay Naked Flushed Bronzer (P, ) is less glossy. Divergent Intelligent Bronze (LE, ) is less shimmery, lighter. (, $0.00) is warmer, less pigmented, better quality, glossier. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Giorgio Armani Sun Bath (110) Maestro Bronzer ($64.00 for 1.0 fl. oz.) is a rich, coppery brown with fine gold shimmer that gives it a satin finish overall. The texture was blendable, thin, and easily sheered out, if desired. It was richly pigmented and a little went a long way. On me, the color wore for almost ten hours before fading slightly. Guerlain Moyen Brunettes (05) (LE, $75.00) is less shimmery, lighter. Guerlain #02 (P, $53.00) is cooler. MAC Billionaire Bronze (LE, $29.50) is less shimmery, darker. Clarins Splendours (LE, $35.00) is lighter, warmer. Le Metier de Beaute Sun Drenched (P, $55.00) is warmer. MAC Sun Dipped (LE, $30.00) is lighter.
