Illamasqua Supernatural Gleam Cream
Illamasqua Supernatural Gleam Cream ($26.00 for 0.23 oz.) is described as a “bronze.” It’s a medium, coppery-bronze with copper, gold, and bronze pearl. It has warm undertones and leans slightly orange, from the coppery tones. Urban Decay Baked is more golden, less copper. Urban Decay Gilded is yellower. Tom Ford Blush Guilt is much sheerer/lighter. Tom Ford Bronzed Amber is browner, less coppery. See comparison swatches here.
Gleam Cream is supposed to feel lightweight, highlight with “iridescent pearlescent pigments,” and can be used alone or with foundation. Supernatural adds a warm, coppery glow wherever it is applied. It does add some color on my medium complexion, so I see it certainly adding color to lighter skin tones and still adding some noticeable warmth and bronzing to medium-dark skin tones.
It has a shimmered, lightly frosted finish, and depending on how sheered out you apply it, it can emphasize pores. Very lightly applied, it did not emphasize pores (think stippling brush, blended out so it adds mostly warmth without adding color). The consistency is thin, creamy, and it applies and blends out easily as a result. It takes a few minutes to set (somewhat), but it never fully sets so it always had a dewy sheen. I have normal-to-dry skin, and it lasted well on me (I was surprised!) for a full eight hours and only started to look a bit patchy after nine hours.

Color Club Blue Heaven Nail Lacquer
Color Club Blue Heaven Nail Lacquer ($10.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is softened, lightly cool-toned baby blue with holographic shimmer. I could only think of one shade that was even remotely similar, which was Color Club Over the Moon, but it is a brighter, medium blue (it does have holographic shimmer, though). You can compare them both here.
I’ve been incredibly impressed with Color Club’s holographic formula, and Blue Heaven is good, though the others have spoiled me that this one wasn’t quite as fantastic. I noticed the consistency was just a bit thicker, so the coats didn’t apply as beautifully and as evenly as the others did. There were some faint brush strokes that were still noticeable and visible after the polish dried down. It was fully opaque in two coats, though, and the holographic shimmer dazzles and is obvious no matter the lighting conditions. I typically get a week of wear out of Color Club’s formula with minor tip wear but no chipping.

Burberry Cameo Pink Lip Glow
Burberry Cameo Pink Lip Glow ($27.00 for 0.24 fl. oz.) is a warm-toned, coral-pink with peachy-gold shimmer (and plenty of it). MAC Astral is darker, redder — less gold shimmer. MAC Star Quality has no shimmer, so it appears pinker. MAC Meteoric is not quite as pink but similar. Guerlain Cherry Pink is less shimmery. Dior Dolly Pink is not quite as pink (also a bit sheerer). See comparison swatches here.
Cameo Pink has semi-sheer to semi-opaque color coverage, as the underlying pink-coral base color tints and adds vibrancy to the lip while there’s a fair amount of gold shimmer which gives it a more opaque look, even though the natural lip color does come through. It has a slightly thicker, gel-like consistency that feels cushion-y and comfortable on the lips, and this shade wore well for five hours before starting to disappear. The formula was also hydrating, and the shimmer did not travel. It does have a floral-like scent but no discernible taste.

| It's a nice happy medium: a coral that's still warm-toned but with plenty of pink; not quite opaque but not sheer. It works well on its own or layered with other lipsticks. | |

Do you have a preference between powder, cream, and liquid? Does it just depend on the item? Or do you use all types of textures?
I prefer liquid foundation (maybe cream, but I don’t like powder) for sure. I would say that is the one product I have a strong preference for. I do prefer powder blushes as well – I think they last longer and better (generally).

Maybelline Precious Pearl Color Tattoo 24 Hour Eyeshadow
Maybelline Precious Pearl Color Tattoo 24 Hour Eyeshadow ($6.99 for 0.14 oz.) is a warm ivory with a frosted shimmer and finish. It looks more golden in the pot, but swatched and applied, it looked closer to white (and I have warm undertones, so those would normally bring out the warmth in a shade like this). MAC Angelic is cooler-toned. MAC She’s Got Class is slightly cooler-toned. MAC The Cool Elite is more of a pure white. Dior Fairy Golds #3 is similar. Estee Lauder Bronze Dunes #2 is warmer. Guerlain Terra Azzura #1 is similar but a powder. See comparison swatches here.
Maybelline Icy Mint Color Tattoo 24 Hour Eyeshadow ($6.99 for 0.14 oz.) is an iridescent, cool-toned, blue-aqua with a frosted finish. bareMinerals Sensational is greener. Benefit Blue My Mind is less iridescent. Buxom Husky is bluer. MAC Blue Willow is more silvered. Dior Swimming Pool #4 is comparable but a powder product. Giorgio Armani #10 is more metallic, less blue, and a powder product. L’Oreal Dive Right In is more aqua and a powder product. See comparison swatches here.
Both of these looked better in the pot than applied, because both were sheerer, a little streaky, and were difficult to apply evenly. Precious Pearl was easier, and the color itself is far more forgiving with a sheer, slightly uneven application. Icy Mint, because it does have a tint of bluish-aqua to it, does look odd with as much streakiness as there is. The texture of both shades was slick and creamy, so they glided on well but didn’t seem to smooth out quite as nicely. They are very blendable, though, and they took a bit longer to set than other Color Tattoos I’ve worked with.
As an eyeshadow base, they worked better than they did alone, as the unevenness gets covered by other eyeshadows. I tried applying sheer, thin layers and allowing them to dry before applying another layer, but it didn’t help (just slid the product around or caused it to look clumpy). Icy Mint creased noticeably after six hours of wear, and Precious Pearl had light creasing after eight hours of wear.

Icy Mint had a sheer, uneven application that made it look unflattering when worn, as you could see streaks and unevenness even at a distance. It also creased much more quickly compared to other Color Tattoos I've worn. |
