Cle de Peau Gold (12) Luminizing Face Enhancer
Cle de Peau Gold (12) Luminizing Face Enhancer

Cle de Peau Gold (12) Luminizing Face Enhancer ($55.00 for 0.35 oz.) is a pale, yellow gold with a luminous sheen. Tarte Champagne (LE) is lighter. Divergent Gleaming Pearl (LE) is more iridescent. Becca Moonstone (P, $38.00) is lighter. theBalm Mary Lou-manizer (P, $24.00) is darker. NARS Albatross (P, $29.00) is lighter. Chanel Routes des Indes de Chanel Illuminating Powder (LE, $80.00) is darker. bareMinerals The Shining Moment (LE, $26.00) is darker, warmer. Bobbi Brown Gold (LE, $39.00) is slightly darker. Bobbi Brown Party (LE, $42.00) is a touch darker. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

This is the other shade that I purchased with Sand Beige (13). There’s not a lot of information about the product, other than it’s a highlighting powder that “illuminate[s] your complexion.” (Sometimes straightforward is nice!) I bought both of mine as just pans, but you can purchase it in Cle de Peau’s compact for $95 (you can see it here). I have mine in a Z-palette, and since it is a metal pan, it stays in place nicely. Gold (12) has the same soft, finely-milled, silky texture as the previous shade, but it was just a tiny bit powdery in comparison. It had good color payoff, which you could apply lightly or more heavily depending on how intense you want the golden sheen to be. It blends and sheers out easily, and it doesn’t accumulate, so it doesn’t emphasize pores even when applied more heavily. This shade lasted for eight hours before fading slightly on me.

Kat Von D Thin Lizzy Studded Kiss Lipstick
Kat Von D Thin Lizzy Studded Kiss Lipstick

Kat Von D Thin Lizzy Studded Kiss Lipstick ($21.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “sparkling brick copper.” It’s a lightly brightened, copper-red with gold and copper sparkle. Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Manhunter (P, $18.00) is brighter, more orange. Kat Von D Gothica (P, $21.00) is lighter, browner. Milani Bronze Beauty (P, $5.49) is lighter, more orange, less red. Givenchy Rouge d’Exception (308) (LE, $36.00) has less shimmer, brighter. NARS Moscow (P, $26.00) has less shimmer. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Let us rejoice for a moment, because Thin Lizzy had a lightly creamy consistency that applied evenly, smoothly, and didn’t tug or drag on the lips. It isn’t a slippery feeling, so it still retains a mostly matte finish on the lips, but it is comfortable to wear and isn’t a struggle to apply. It had good color coverage, and though it says “sparkling,” it is a finer shimmer that is less present than some of the other more metallic/frosted shades in the range. This shade lasted for seven and a half hours, and it was neither drying nor hydrating over time.

Anastasia Amrezy Eyeshadow Palette
Anastasia Amrezy Eyeshadow Palette

Anastasia Amrezy Eyeshadow Palette ($29.00 for 0.25 oz.) contains ten shades ranging from shimmery gold to medium matte black. Each eyeshadow is 0.025 oz. It’s a so-so palette with a few nice shades, some less impressive ones. There are no total misses, but the two brighter shades didn’t translate as richly as they looked in the pan/swatch applied–I couldn’t get that green to pop no matter how many times I patted it on! The wear was good, though, across the board, and most of the eyeshadows wore well for eight to nine hours before fading.

Legend is a brightened, light gold with warm, yellow undertones and a frosted finish. It had good color payoff with a soft, smooth texture that was just a smidgen powdery (it seemed to have a whiter base). It lasted for nine hours before fading. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Glisten is a medium-dark copper orange with a sparkly, metallic finish. It had good pigmentation, though the consistency was a little dry. It wore well for eight hours before fading, and there was a little bit of fall out over time. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Topaz is a golden, medium-dark brown with warm undertones and a frosted sheen. It had nice pigmentation that went on evenly and smoothly. This shade didn’t show fading until after nine hours of wear. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Iridescent Purple is a cool-toned, medium-dark purple with a pearly sheen. It had so-so color payoff that had a slightly drier consistency. The color lasted for eight hours before fading. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Emerald is a medium-dark, warm-toned green with a golde, frosted finish. It seemed promising when swatched, as it had decent pigmentation, but it seemed to fade almost instantly on the eye–I would pat it on, blend, and poof! looked more like a khaki brown. That khaki brown color stayed like that for the next eight hours. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Vanilla is a light beige with warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. It was somewhat powdery but had decent to good color payoff. It wore well for seven and a half hours before fading. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Caramel is a medium-dark, copper-brown with warm undertones and a matte finish. It had fairly good pigmentation, and the texture was soft and blendable, though a bit powdery. It lasted for eight hours before fading. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Morocco is a muted, reddish-copper brown with a matte finish. it had decent color payoff, but it was also on the powdery side. It didn’t show signs of fading for eight hours. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Deep Plum is a deep, burgundy brown with warm, reddish undertones and a matte finish. It had good pigmentation, and the texture was soft, blendable, though a bit powdery. It wore well for eight hours before fading slightly. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

LBD is a medium black with neutral-to-warm undertones and a mostly matte finish. It had a drier, slightly powdery, consistency, which resulted in semi-sheer color payoff. This shade showed some fading after seven and a half hours of wear. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
