HauteLook is having a Kevyn Aucoin Beauty sale!
The sale is going on now at HauteLook! As per usual, products look like they’re around 50% off! I picked up several lip products and one of the eyeshadows!
(The link above is an invite-link, which is a referral link. HauteLook has opened up membership, so you are free to sign up on your own, if you wish! )
What role does packaging play in your purchases? Does it need to be functional, pretty, practical?
I like functional packaging the most, but I definitely get caught up in pretty packaging, too! I am able to resist products that just look pretty, though–most of the time!
With summer really just around the corner, the idea of short shorts, shorter skirts, and swimsuits has be a bit on edge. As someone who’s always struggled with weight, a part of me is always a bit loathe to see the summer rays peek through the clouds as June rolls around. It’s way better nowadays, since my boyfriend thinks I’m nuts and all that for having issues with it (hey, support is good!), but this year, I really feel like I need to get healthier. I was watching the latest webisode at Only In A Woman’s World, and it SO described my previous fitness attempts.
My goal is a lot less intense this time around — I want to incorporate exercise into my daily routine while reducing some more no-no foods/habits in my life. So, I’m not talking about spending half a day at the gym (I don’t think I could ever do that) or eliminating anything from my diet. It’s about making better choices (aka not drinking Starbucks everyday!). This is how I’m going to celebrate summer this year — as a huge motivator to kick my butt in gear. I’m also hoping to ease some of my beauty woes like under-eye circles, skin that hates me, etc. by feeling more energized, getting better sleep, and increasing my water intake. Continue reading →

Focus On: MAC 275 Medium Angled Shading Brush
MAC 275 Medium Angled Shading Brush ($24.50) is medium-sized angled brush with lots of fluffiness. I like this brush for applying concealer around the nose and eyes, and actually do find it can be used to contour small areas like the nose, too. I don’t contour my nose often, if ever, because I guess I’m fairly satisfied with its appearance (it’s a nose — it’s like the foot of the face to me, it’s just there and eh!), but it works better than the 168, which is far too large for the nose area. This also works well to apply highlighter above the cupid’s bow of your lips – just one swipe and voila!
How do you like to use this brush?

YSL Fall 2009 Collection Sneak Peek – Part 1
YSL for Fall 2009 made our hearts flutter with its stunning promotional imagery. I’m not shocked, either! With the introduction of four new shades of Rouge Volupte, stunning quints, and new Gloss Volupte? I knew this collection was going to cause a stir. Today, let’s preview Frivolous Pink Rouge Volupte ($34.00) — my very favorite lipstick formula — which is a gorgeous shade of milky pink that runs just a touch cool, but it’s not nearly as cool or as pale as Lingerie Pink, but it is not as bright as Fetish Pink. It applies smoothly, evenly, and feels moisturizing as you wear it. This is one of the creamiest lipsticks I’ve had the pleasure of using.
