REALLY blue look. I don’t think much else needs to be said, LOL.
You will need the following…
- Eyes: Mutiny pigment (aqua-blue), Surreal eyeshadow (light silvery-blue), Shimmermoss eyeshadow (teal), Freshwater eyeshadow (blue), Deep Truth (dark blue), Nylon eyeshadow (white gold highlighter), Urban Decay Electric 24/7 Liner (blue), Plushlash mascara (black)
- Cheeks: Sunbasque (dirty peach)
- Lips: Antiquitease lipstick (copper brown), Nymphette lipglass (pink with gold)
- Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
- Substitutes: Mutiny = Delft (closest dupe!); Antiquitease = Jist
Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply Mutiny pigment all over the lid as the base with the 249. On the inner-to-middle lid, apply Surreal eyeshadow using the 239. Apply Freshwater to the outher lid with the 239. Darken the outer lid using Deep Truth eyeshadow and drag into crease using the 239. Sweep Nylon underneath the brow bone to highlight. Finish with UD Electric 24/7 Liner on lower lash line, and Plushlash mascara on lashes. Sweep apples of cheeks with Sunbasque blush using the 129. Apply Antiquitease lipstick to lips, and then top with Nymphette lipglass for color and shine.

Visit www.votefornatural.com to learn about why natural is the way to go. Later this year, you should start seeing The Natural Seal (the green seal pictured above) on products that meet The Natural Standard for Personal Care Products. What I liked about the website is they have a portion devoted to explaining what is considered “Truly Natural.” You can learn about what types of ingredients can be used, the processes that fall under the umbrella, and so on.
Put simply, natural ingredients are profoundly effective, inspiring to your senses, better for the environment and beneficial to your well-being. When you vote for truly natural products, you’re already a winner because they’re simply good for you!
Oh, and I did I mention there are some prizes for those who “vote natural”? You get a chance to win a limited edition C&C California for Burt’s Bees T-shirt or a year’s worth of products ($500 value).
To coincide with the launch of Phenomen’Eyes – a revolutionary high-precision mascara with a patented ground-breaking spherical brush – Parfums Givenchy commissioned British artist Ian Wright to create a work of art using approximately 5,000 of the Phenomen’Eyes brushes. The result was “5045 Lashes,” a work that symbolizes the “remix” of a fashion-inspired beauty collection with art.
The project began in August 2008 and was completed 12 days later. In the end, Wright chose to recreate an illusion of a 45′ record using only the mascara brushes as his medium. The unique circular brush shape brought back memories of Wright’s early childhood, listening to the voices of Dusty Springfield and Roxy Music on the record player. The pure glamour of glistening black vinyl became thoughts of glistening black lashes, and the inspiration for the Phenomen’Eyes project was born.
Looks kind of cool, doesn’t it? Definitely reminds of black vinyl. It makes me REALLY want to try Phenomen’Eyes now. Between the raves I’ve heard from some of you and my own indulgent nature, I might have to cave soon.
“5045 Lashes” was unveiled at the Christopher Henry Gallery (127 Elizabeth Street), and will now appear throughout New York City in pop-up galleries this fall (Oct 10th and 11th at Sephora SoHo; Oct 17th and 18th at Sephora Union Square).
