MAC Bloggers’ Obsessions Online!

MAC Bloggers’ Obsessions Online!

Thank you so much for your amazing support and love – it has been a truly tremendous day in every way.

This moment would not have been possible without all of you, because it is the power of Temptalia (which is all of YOU!) that opens up the doors to these kinds of opportunities.  Having the shade sell out is bittersweet–it’s an amazing feeling, but I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again:  I’d much rather any person who wanted one to be able to purchase.  At the end of the day, I’m here for you; Temptalia is for readers–being able to help you is what drives me. My passion is to create content and features to make your beauty lovin’ life easier.  Thank you for sharing in this journey with me!

I’m going to keep my fingers crossed (and make Mellan keep his paws crossed!) that they’ll find some more over the next couple of days.  The best way to get the latest is to follow me on Twitter or Facebook, because between my site-stalking and yours, we’ll see it if it does.  Expect another Jealousy Wakes giveaway on Thursday or Friday!

Updates

  • Edited @ 9:12PM PST:  All nine of the shades from this launch are now listed as “COMING SOON!”  It doesn’t seem likely that it just so happened that all nine shades sold out at exactly the same time, and while I definitely don’t know what’s going on, they might have tried to put a hold on purchases until it officially launches.  That’s just a guess, though.
  • Edited @ 9:26PM PST: All nine of the shades have now disappeared. It’s a waiting game!
  • Edited @ 11:51PM PST: Several readers are reporting LiveChat giving a 6AM EST time for when things will be up for sale.  Right now, all the shades are listed but as “coming soon.”
  • Edited @ 7:39AM PST (6/21):  I have no new news to report other than it should officially launch sometime today.
  • Edited @ 11:19AM PST: Looks like you can add to cart now!!
  • Edited @ 11:31AM PST:  It may be sold out on the Canadian website.  I checked as late as 12:24PM PST and for me, it still shows sold out.  It still shows “add to bag” on the U.S. site.
  • Edited @ 3:35PM PST: Jealousy Wakes is now showing as sold out on the U.S. site.  Let’s cross our fingers they’ll find more somewhere somehow 🙂

Jealousy Wakes with Blue Look

Jealousy Wakes with Blue Look

My eyes have been really dry lately, so under normal circumstances, I wouldn’t create a look and post it (just because the surface of my lids makes working with powder products a big pain!), but how could I not do something to commemorate this day?

You will need the following…

For eyes, start by applying Smudgeproof all over the lid and above the crease with the 249 to lay down your eyeshadow base.   Next, apply Verve eyeshadow on the lower third of the lid with the 239.  Then pat Jealousy Wakes eyeshadow onto the upper half of the lid and into the crease with the 239.  With the 226, apply Atlantic Blue eyeshadow above the crease.  Diffuse the crease edge with Trench eyeshadow using the 217.  Lightly highlight the edge of the brow bone with Verve eyeshadow with the 239.  Next, apply Deviant liner on the lower lash line, and then smudge with Jealousy Wakes. Coat lashes with They’re Real mascara to finish the look.

For cheeks, apply Sugarbomb on the apples of the cheeks and sweep towards the temple with the 116.

For lips, apply #2 lipgloss mixed with Mambo lipgloss for a complementing lip.

Cult Nails Always Winning Nail Lacquer

Cult Nails Always Winning Nail Lacquer<
Cult Nails Always Winning Nail Lacquer

Cult Nails Always Winning Nail Laquer ($10.00 for 0.5 fl. oz.) is described as a “sheer metallic olive green layering polish with gold and holo glitter.”  It’s an olive green with a metallic shimmer threaded through the base color topped off with lots of gold glitter, along with pieces of glitter that look multi-colored in brighter light (see the photo taken with flash).  I did three coats in the swatches, and you can see it’s more semi-opaque, but two coats gives you a sheerer look.  The formula was on the thinner side but easy to work with, and the glitter spread evenly without having to work at it.

When it comes to a glittery shade like this one, it’s best to let your remover soak on the nail for a little bit and then removing.  I just use felt soaked in Zoya Remove+ and press it against the nail for 5-10 seconds, and then I do one pull.  I’ve had good luck with wear on Cult Nails’ line so far (I’ve tested three or four shades in full)–getting about a week’s worth of wear without chips.

Inglot Matte Eyeshadows in #332, 336, 322, 371, 367, 388, 369 (Blues)

Inglot Matte Eyeshadow Palette #2

Inglot Matte Eyeshadows in #332, 336, 322, 371, 367, 388, 369 (Blues)

To finish off this palette of Inglot’s Matte Eyeshadows ($4.50 to $7.00 each for 0.09 oz.), we look at enough blue to paint a sky.

  • 332 is a deep navy blue with a hint of indigo and a matte finish. I detected the faintest bit of blue micro-shimmer.
  • 336 is a cornflower blue with a matte finish. I found it a smidgen on the sheer side, but it seems like it is buildable. It’s a bit like MAC’s Winkle.
  • 322 is a bright, medium cyan blue with a matte finish.
  • 371 is a bright cyan blue with a matte finish–it is just slightly lighter than #322.
  • 367 is a pale, whitened sky blue with a matte finish. This was a little sheer and blended out too quickly (and ended up looking sheer).
  • 388 is a vibrant, dark blue-purple with a matte finish. It seems comparable to MAC’s Atlantic Blue.
  • 369 is a soft, paled periwinkle blue with a matte finish. Like #336, it was a touch sheer.

These are really soft mattes; they have a really buttery feel to them, where you can feel the powder loosening as you swatch.  They aren’t particularly powdery, though they’ll kick up a little dust if you are heavy handed with your brush.  A little product goes a long way, so there’s no reason to jab at the eyeshadow with a brush (something you might have done with past matte eyeshadows).  The softness and give allow these to apply smoothly and evenly; there is no patchiness or drag with these.  The only downside to these is if you really pack on the color, you might find that it fades (ever-so-marginally) after eight hours; it’s a very minimal drawback, resulting in 0.5 point reduction in longevity.

#367 was the one I had the most trouble with; I think the lightness alone emphasizes any shortcomings it has–it’s a little sheer, slightly powdery, and the end result is something patchy.  #336 and #369 were more buildable in color but still had some noticeable sheerness.
