Don’t forget that Temptalia’s September contest is still going on! Enter today!
If you haven’t noticed, in the past couple days, I have posted swatches of various products I own by MAC Cosmetics, to help everyone learn what color I mean or how it looks. I’d LOVE to make Temptalia a more comprehensive site with even more swatches and product photos, because I definitely do not have all the bases covered.
This is where you come in! Submit your product and swatch photos of MAC Cosmetics products to us.
What’s the incentive? The person to submit the most usable product/swatch photos from now until September 30th, 2007 will win ~$100 worth of an assortment of MAC Cosmetics products from In 3D, Painterly, Blue Storm, and/or Smoke Signals. If enough people enter the contest, there will be 2nd and 3rd place winners as well!

There seemed to be two types of Red Carpet looks this year at the 2007 59th Primetime Emmy Awards: red lips and nude lips, with both accompanied by long, luscious dramatic lashes. Some smoky eyes, some lighter ones.
Eva Longoria: Get Eva’s look by putting on some MAC Lipstick in Blankety and topping it with any nude gloss. Use MAC Kohl Power in Feline for intense black lining on the upper lash line. Don’t forget to dramatify the look with long lashes from shu uemura Smoky Layers eyelashes. Keep skin light and fresh with minimal blush – try something in a dusty rose with a very light hand.
Heidi Klum: Looks like regular lashes, or perhaps very, very subtle false lashes, in a brown-black. Light eye, quite subtle. Lips are like Christina’s, only not glossy. heck out MAC Lipstick in Russian Red.
Please note that I do not use liquid liner very often as it tends to interact adversely with my upper lash line and cause my eyes to swell shut (I sit here typing this while alternating ice over my eyes now!), but I try, so I can show you a different style.
What do you think? Does upper liner improve my look or does it detract from it? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
I used Ricepaper eyeshadow on lid, Cork eyeshadow in crease, Casablanca eyeshadow on brow, black liquid liner on upper lash line, and Feline kohl power on lower lash line. I had Cantaloupe blush on cheeks with Emote blush to contour. I wore Viva Glam I lipstick, and in the last shot, I added Prestigious lipglass.
This tutorial is designed to go step by step through a very dark, sultry purple smoky eye, which is best suited for clubbing and special occasions – but great for fall.
Skill Level: Intermediate
Eyes: Smoke Signal pigment (burgundy), Cumulus eyeshadow (grayish blue), Thunder eyeshadow (dark purple-gray), Sketch eyeshadow (brown burgundy), Feline kohl power (black eye liner), and black mascara. Face: If you’d like to compliment the eyes, use Other Worldly blush (warm dirty brown) on apples of cheeks with Taupe blush to contour. Lips: For matching lips, try Sparks Can Fly lipstick with Lull lipglass. Tools: MAC 249 firm shadow brush, 239 shadow brush, 219 detailed crease brush
What are your top three favorite MAC Cosmetics products? And you can’t just say “eyeshadows” – you gotta pick individual products!
Inquiring minds want to know!
My answer: could not live without Margin blush, Studio Fix Fluid, and the 182 brush.
P.S. – What’s everybody doing/planning to do this weekend? Me? ‘m about to go off and donate 3 vials of blood to my life insurance company, have dim sum with my parents, and then pretty much attempt to do some reading for law school!
I used Gold Dusk pigment on lid, Goldmine eyeshadow on inner lid, Rose Blanc eyeshadow on middle of lid, Bronze eyeshadow on outer lid and crease, Ricepaper above crease and on brow, Goldmine eyeshadow on lower lash line, and Feline kohl power on lower lash line. Continue reading →
