I call this my “Personalized MAC Pigment/Glitter Rack.”
I have an extremely handy grandfather, Doug, and I approached him in the summer about making me a customized pigment rack. I had searched high and low for one to buy, on eBay and otherwise, but nothing suited my needs (or my wallet). They were either too big or too small, too ugly or too cheap. Since I knew Doug, a woodworker, had made tons of furniture for my family members over the years, I figured a pigment rack would not be out of his range. Of course, he had no idea what the hell a pigment was but he was very willing to make it for me. I wanted something high-quality, sturdy, easily accessible, and something that could withstand my day-to-day use. I wanted to be able to see each pigment colour as well. I gave him a rough blueprint and he ran with it. He measured the cut-outs with an actual pigment jar and I asked for additional spots so that my collection could grow and still fit into the unit.

Do you do themed holiday looks? For Thanksgiving, are you doing a combination of autumn tones? Do you do a green and red eye for Christmas? Black and orange for Halloween? Or do you find it cheesy?
P.S. – Happy Thanksgiving [to those who celebrate it]! What do turkey-goers have planned for the day? I can’t wait for the FOOD! I’ve been dreaming about my mom’s feast for weeks! And yes, Temptalia really does not take off on holidays, 365 days a year, baby! Or I’ll try, at least.
I used Pure Ore cream shadow on inner lid, Plum Electric cream shadow on outer lid, Rye eyeshadow on inner lid, Mi’Lady (red) duo shadow on middle of lid, Mi’lady (purple) duo shadow on outer lid and crease, Rye eyeshadow above crease, Ricepaper eyeshadow on brow, Orpheus kohl power on lower lash line, Pure Ore cream shadow on lower lash line, and Graphblack technakohl on lower waterline. I wore NARS Crazed blush on cheeks with Sculpt sculpting powder to contour and Micro Pink beauty powder to highlight. I had Overrich lipstick with Magnetique lipglass and Reflects Antique Gold glitter on my lips.
