Chanel Orange Fizz Le Vernis Nail Colour ($23.00) is part of Chanel’s summer makeup collection. It’s described as a “coral,” which is a fairly accurate description. I’d say it runs more like an orange-coral than a pink-coral though, and I think that is something important to note. It’s a creamy, opaque orange-coral with a semi-glossy finish. It isn’t too glossy, which helps make it more subdued, despite the brightness of the hue. I think this is a great color for tips and toes during the summer season!
As far as the formula goes, it’s typical Chanel for me — applies easily, lasts awhile, and doesn’t chip.
Do you wear the same look more than once? When you find a good look, do you stick with it?
I try not to wear the same look more than once. Even if it ends up looking similar, I end up using shades!
If you were using MAC Aquavert Eyeshadow?, what look would you create with it? What shadows would you use? What would you use on cheeks? Anything added to the lips?
Create a look using whatever you want, as long as you include today’s look book product! Feel free to share links to photos of your look(s) using it in the comments.
Barielle’s Sugar Rush is a vibrant collection for the upcoming summer season. There are six shades (each retailing for $8.00) in the collection:
- Cotton Candy Vibrant pink sparkle
- Lemondrops Electric yellow
- Sweet Addiction Minty green
- Swizzle Stix Robin’s egg blue
- Decadence Metallic turquoise
- Grape Escape Plush purple hue
This is my first time trying out Barielle’s nail polish, and I was impressed by the pigmentation and creaminess of the polishes. I found most of the polishes applied nearly flawlessly (despite my rushed application), which is a huge plus!
Cotton Candy is a soft medium pink with lots of pretty pink sparkle. It is a little sheerer than some of the other shades in the collection.
Lemondrops is a creamy, bright primary yellow. Great texture, finish, and extremely opaque.
Sweet Addiction is a deep green-teal cream. Again, the finish and feel of this polish is fantastic, and there is lots of color in each coat (no more than two required).
Swizzle Stix is a creamy, sky blue. I didn’t have such great application with this, but I think it is because I applied too-thin of a coat on the first go round, which ended up in a streaky finish. I think if I wasn’t so quick on the draw, this would look dreamy.
Decadence is a rich, jewel-toned turquoise. It’s incredibly stunning, and even though it’s quite deep, I think the shimmer in it makes it perfect for summer.
Grape Escape is a really intense royal purple cream. It’s so opaque and creamy–it’s stunning in person.

If you could revamp Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer, what would you change? What would you keep the same? How would you make it an even better product?
Essie’s North Fork Collection features three summery colors in Sag Harbor, a cool silver blue; Shelter Island, a sky blue radiance; and Greenport, a dreamy aquamarine paradise. Each bottle retails for $9.00, and you can find ‘em at Essie.com (or click the link in the beginning). I’ve always been a fan of Essie’s polish formula, because it’s long-wearing and reliable. I’m more of a color fan, so I don’t always align with their collections, but I’m so happy to see these three hues join me for the season!
Sag Harbor is a cool, pale blue-gray with silver shimmer. Two coats was just right with this baby, but you need to make sure you have nice, even coats that aren’t too thin to ensure a streak-free finish.
Shelter Island is a creamy sky blue that’s not overly bright, but it isn’t pastel or pale either. It reminds me of an inviting swimming pool.
Greenport is a pale aquamarine color with a creamy finish. It has a lot of glossiness to it, and it’s really opaque.
