Givenchy Vintage Holiday 2010 Collection

Givenchy Vintage Christmas Holiday 2010 Collection

My collections is my vision of a story taking shape. A universal reading of a life and what it is made of. The present with its door open to the future and a past that has modeled this present.

A representation built up of different stages which, by definition, are or will be memories. Memories of what one has done and, especially, of what one has not done. A trigger of emotion, Christmas has always been for me the season of grape harvests for these chosen memories. Stages of life that make up the short story.

Each year, under the fir tree, a temporal jewel box opens up and the figures of the past shine out. Matured by time; odours, colours and feelings reappear…

The fragrance of a low-cut neckline powdered for the occasion, lips embellished with blood red that leave their imprint on the blushing cheeks of excitement. It’s the creaking of a door that a little boy would open onto another world of dreams and imagination. It’s the attic and its magic chest of luxurious treasures that would illustrate my dream-like creations.

Vintage Christmas is a Christmas tale revisited. The elegance of a looks back at the past and knows how to draw vital revival from it. A reassuring moment of benevolent nostalgia that chases passing time and makes us grow…

Le Prisme Unique Eyeshadow (Iridescent Finish) ($29.00) (Limited Edition)

  • Vintage Silver (19) Iridescent eyeshadow in silver and black

Le Prisme Collector Sparkling Powder ($60.00)

An elegant chest-like box covered in crocodile skin with the signature of Monsieur de Givenchy stamped on its mirror. Memories of trunks of clothes containing the most voluptuous and fragile fabrics… A precious weathered rose powder sensually perfumed with Flower Water, and its generous pink brush imprinted with its story. A magic powder for the face and neckline, this veil of “silk organza” may also be used on the body.

  • Vintage Sequin Subtle, sparkling, translucent powder for the face and body.

Mister Lash Booster

Both a makeup and a treatment, an eyelash primer that deeply nourishes and strengthens the eyelashes thanks to its high-performance transparent formula combined with a new application: its beveled tip equipped with soft spikes gently massages the root of the lashes, stimulating micro circulation and the penetration of ingredients to create lashes that are denser, stronger and more resistant.

Vernis Please! Nail Lacquer ($15.00)

  • Vintage Garnet (172) Deep, dark red

Rouge Interdit Satin Lipstick ($28.00) (Limited Edition)

  • Vintage Carmine (49) Deep red

Gloss Interdit ($25.50) (Limited Edition)

  • Vintage Ruby (27) Deep ruby red

Phenomen’Eyes Mascara ($29.00) (Limited Edition)

  • Vintage Bronze (5) Bronze

Phenomen’Eyes Mascara and Eye Liner Pencil Set ($29.00) (Limited Edition)

This match made in heaven helps you create smoky, alluring eyes. A quick-dry mascara and ball-shaped brush allow for precise application to lift, separate and lengthen each and every lash. A mini eye pencil, formulated with high and low melting point triglycerides, wears beautifully and comfortably throughout the day.

China Glaze Holiday 2010: Part 1

China Glaze Holiday 2010

For the holidays, China Glaze has an impressive sixteen new shades for us. The first six I’m reviewing include three red-based shades as well as three cream finishes. I had no application issues with any of these six; they all applied quite easily for me–two coats needed for opaque color. The consistency of these shades was on the thinner side, but it wasn’t watery or sheer. Each China Glaze retails for $3 to 4, depending on where you purchase yours from. I know the brand is carried at various etailers as well as Sally’s (not sure if it’s in store yet, though).

If you want to know more about how products are evaluated, read out Rating System FAQ! :)

RECOMMENDATION: I like Sugar Plums and Little Drummer Boy the most; the reds felt a little dupe-able, so whether they’re must-haves depends more on your personal stash.

Look: Smoky Browns with Chanel Holiday 2010

Look:  Chanel Holiday 2010

Here’s a look using several of Chanel’s new products for the holidays! :)  It’s a quick, five minute look, and for reference, I used all of the eyeshadows dry.

You will need the following…

For eyes, start by applying Splash as your eyeshadow base all over the eye area with the 249. Using the 239, apply the champagne eyeshadow on the inner third of the lid and pull upwards along the inner crease. Lightly blend the medium brown eyeshadow on the middle of the lid with the 239. Next, apply the dark brown eyeshadow into the crease with the 226, lightly blending onto the outer lid.  Blend the champagne eyeshadow with the crease shade and highlight the brow bone. Bring everything together by applying Cassis on the lower lash line. Finish by sweeping lashes with Inimitable Intense mascara.

For cheeks, apply Tweed Fuchsia blush on the apples of the cheeks and sweep upwards towards the temple with the 116.

For lips, apply Patchouli lipstick first, and then layer Pleasing glossimer for a complementing lip.
