Next Week: Stila on Sale @ HauteLook!
We’re excited to tell you about Stila coming to HauteLook next Monday (December 7th) at 8AM PST. HauteLook holds beauty sample sales periodically, and often you can pick up some of your favorites for 50% off (sometimes more, sometimes less). Here’s hoping you’ll enjoy yourself some Stila deals!
HauteLook and Temptalia have partnered together to create a co-branded shopping experience and to highlight certain sales that I really think are worthwhile for readers. We’re taking it slow and seeing how the experience works for both you and us, thanks for your feedback and suggestions!

Holiday Makeup Ideas, Part II
Subtle, cool-edged neutrals are another way to define eyes and still wear a bolder lip color. The black eyeliner on both the top and upper lash lines (but note you can always modify this!) really give eyes more definition and make them *pop* without being too much. I’d pair this with a bronzy plum, bright blue-based red, or a deep berry for the holidays.
Taupe-y browns also work well when you want a bolder, more holiday-esque lip (which always have a tendency to be bold, bright, or deep). I never thought such a smoky brown eye would really work with a darker lip, but this worked fabulously (IMO, obviously!) with an ultra rich, magenta-pink lip.
Soft gold with amber work together to create a muted sunset-ish kind of look that’s got the holidays written all over it without it being in bright lights. I’d pair this with either a deep bronzy red or a bronzy nude.
Chanel Jupiter Glossimer
The Scarlet Season: Chanel Jupiter Glossimer
Chanel Jupiter Glossimer ($27.00) was a limited edition shade of orange-y red gloss with multicolored sparkle. I was happy to see it is still available through Bloomingdales, if this is your kind of red–you may even find your local Chanel counter still has some stock leftover from earlier this year as well. Glossimers have a very special shimmer about them; they’re smoother and finer than MAC’s Dazzleglass and just as dazzling. This is one of my preferred shades of Glossimers, just because it’s pigmented and super shimmery without being sticky or gritty. For a deeper, more opaque look, I’d recommend wearing a red or berry lipstick underneath.
What about you? Would you wear this red?
The Scarlet Season is a series of posts showcasing and featuring my favorite shades of red lips–from glosses to lipsticks that runs through December 2009. You can sure expect to see a lot of red this holiday season!

Clinique’s Long Last Glosswear lasts pretty long on me – about six hours.
