Olivia Wilde – 2011 Golden Globe Awards – Hair & Makeup

Olivia Wilde @ 2011 Golden Globe Awards
Olivia Wilde @ 68th Golden Globe Awards
Olivia Wilde also seems to be sporting a grayish (perhaps with some brown) smoky eye–guess gray is big for this spring. Her gown fit-for-a-princess is by Marchesa.
Makeup How-to
NARS worked with celebrity makeup artist Spencer Barnes to create presenter Olivia Wilde’s glowing look for the 68th annual Golden Globe Awards.
“Olivia’s look was inspired by images she collected of what she refers to as ‘the French girl.’ I wanted her skin to be fresh and clean with eyes that extended outward. Touches of rose gold and sheer pink-veiled lips completed her youthful coquette-ish look,” Spencer said.
- Face: Sheer Glow Foundation, PRO-PRIME Multi Protect Primer With SPF (February 1st exclusively at Sephora), Copacabana Illuminator (February 15th), Amour Blush
- Eyes: PRO-PRIME Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base, Nouveau Monde Duo Eyeshadow, Hollywoodland Soft Touch Shadow Pencil, Mambo Eyeliner Pencil, Larger Than Life Lengthening Mascara
- Lips: Fantasia Lipliner Pencil, Madere Pure Matte Lipstick, Frivolous Velvet Gloss Lip Pencil
Hair How-to
Celebrity hair stylist Terry Millet created a chic, French Girl look for Olivia Wilde.
Began by applying Kérastase Volumactive Mousse & Care Kérastase Volumactive to wet hair prior to blowdrying to give texture and volume. From there, Terry blow dried her hair with his hands, only using a round brush at the ends once almost dried to give the hair a clean, healthy, just washed type of look. Once the hair was dry, he finished with Kérastase Oléo-Relax Serum on the ends and a veil of Kérastase Double Force Hair Spray for hold.
See her dress!

I love those bangs on her. She is stunning!!! I wouldn’t expect her to choose a dress as embellished and full as the one she’s wearing but it is beautifuuul. I give her an A
Man, she is SO beautiful. Not in love with the dress, but she’s gorgeous.
Makeup looks perfect, but her hair and that dress are awful.
I love that dress! It’s so fun and sparkly!
Agree!!
I love that dress.
I’m an jealous of her cheekbones!
Prom 2011, take notice. THIS is how princess dresses are done.
I agree!
Love the makeup. The hair is too simple for this award show, she should have them in a soft wavy curl. And the dress is too puffy on the bottom, but the top if the dress is nice with many jewels design. Plus, it would look more stunning with a nice pair of earrings or bracelet.
Olivia looks gorgeous, but the dress is too much.
I saw the makeup & thought, “Oh, that’s nice…”. Then scrolled down & was like, “WOW, THAT DRESS!!!!” Gimme!
The dress seems a little out of character for her, but she looks gorgeous
OOOh…I like her dress
I’m a HUGE Olivia Wilde fan. I Think she’s gorgeous but that dress is a little too poofy for her.
She is beautiful. And I love her makeup and dress. GORGEOUS!!!
She is so flipping gorgeous and that dress is amazing. I want my wedding dress to look similar…..Unreal..
(With a bit less sparkle
But same shape…)
That’s SUCH a cool dress! And whoever did her makeup did a great job with the skin
She is so stunning!! Love her dress and her eyes look gorgeous!!
She has the most beautiful eyes. The grey e/s suits her!
Everything about this look is perfect.
Dress is stunning, make up is well suited to it but her hair just doesn’t look good – yes she needs something simple with that dress but it’s just laying there :/
What an amazing dress! Stunning! I like that she has a very subtle make-up to go with the dress.
I prefer her without the bangs, but she rocks them anyway.
although I love the dress, I think the hair styke could ave been better. Her dress is amazingly gorgeous
Perfect! Just breathtaking.
She looks STUNNING!
Not feeling the hair.
I love that dress on her. I don’t like the bangs because they cover up too much of her beautiful face!
She’s beautiful and that dress is just amazing!! I want the same now hahaha
I love the dress. Definately in the top 10 favorite dresses I’ve ever seen.
I think I would have liked more playful hair for this pretty princess dress. Love the eyes!
That dress is incredible! Her makeup & hair go really well with it for some reason, even though they’re simple and not extra dressy.
I love her dress. LOVE IT. I’ve actually fallen in love with a dress. I love that her hair and makeup are simple so as not to steal attention from it.
May I add that that’s an AWESOME DRESS?!
It’s not fair how beautiful she is! My 3-year-old nephew made a comment yesterday about how he thinks she’s so pretty!
Her makeup was by Nars hey? Loving it eiether way not so much the hair though, its kind of just ‘sitting’ there ?!?
Gorgeous!
Simply gorgeous!!! From her hair, make-up to her beautiful dress. Stunning!!!
I have the biggest girl crush on her (and her cheekbones!) but I would love the dress more if it were less full. I like it in theory, though.
The dress is barbie-like, but in a good way. But sadly she seems not to be the perfect person to wear it. Hair could have been styled differently too.
Dress is intense, must weight a lot. I love the top, but the bottom is just too much.
beautiful dress…would like to have seen a bit more volume in the hair..maybe even an up-do
Ack. I think she looks much better without bangs. Not a fan of the lip color, either, but then again I hate nude lips on almost everybody
The dress is definitely too pretty-pretty-princess for me O_O But it’s Olivia Wilde, so she pretty much looks gorgeous no matter what.
What an amazing dress! Love it!
I LOVE this dress, but it looks to frou-frou for her with her understyled hair. Makeup is lovely though.
Are those her real lashes? I’m loving it!
I have to know what eyeshadow she is wearing! It is gorgeous! I have to have that. Goodness. She never fails to wow me on the red carpet. She looks like real life Barbie Doll in here.
WOW that gown is stunning!
That hair looks great with her bone structure! Not liking the dress, though; it looks more like a prom dress.
if she did something slick and classic with her hair, it would looks so much better with that STUNNING dress
LOVE the dress! Her make-up looks great too. I was expecting it to be more dramatic, but then i saw the dress, and it’s perfect
I’m just in LOVE with her dress so much.
Everything about this look ROCKS!
Her bangs emphasize what a square jaw she has – but other than that, she looks like an absolute stunner.
LOVE the dress.
i love everything about this make up..
the dress is an eyecatcher.. that’s why i think she doesn’t need a voluminous hairstyle!!
I love the dress, but I do not like the hair. I do not like the bangs at all – liked the hairstyle she had on ‘House, M.D.’ MUCH better. Same with the make-up – the gray is OK, but with her striking eyes, I would want some purple in it to make them pop (again, I am in love with the purple eyeliner look she had on ‘House’)
gorgeous face, gorgeous dress. two winners I just didn’t like together, different styles. casual chic on ballroom didn’t work for me. love Olivia though– she looks good in anything.
Love, love, love the dress!
This is weird. There is another breakdown of this same look by the same artist, only with some different products.

also, it seems the gloss pencil is missing from the spring collection. it’s not available anywhere.
THAT IS A DRESS: Now, really, great dress, bt her hair looks dry and thin. A pity. I get the concept, but it does not match 100%. The best dress on teh carpet I guess!
I hate her hair. It looks so dry and crispy. I hate the bangs, too. She’s got such a strong jaw line I think the heavy bangs are totally wrong for her face.
I think this is my favorite look of the whole night–she looks gorgeous! The dress is glamorous and beautiful, and the sweetheart neckline elongates her neck and adds a lot of grace to it. I do wish, like some other commenters, that her hair had a wave to it. Straight hair (especially with highlights) just seems a little too beachy and laid-back for such a glamorous look.
I love that the gray tone of the eyeshadow really brings out the absolutely amazing color of her eyes, stays easy on the liner, and has that subtle little wing above her crease. I usually prefer nude lips that are a little darker, but the color actually looks great on her and pulls the whole look together. I’m definitely going to try replicating her make-up.
I want a Barbie of her. That dress just stole my heart away.
Now *that’s* a dress! I loved her in House and I’m glad she’s in movies now. She looks fantastic.
Love the idea of the dress, just wish it was a bit more sleek, and I think that haircut on her was a bad choice. It really emphasizes her square face shape, she should try to do something a little more soft.
I love that dress!
dress would have been so lovely with a simple updo, or even if she’d simply let it fall down her back instead of in front of her shoulders. hairstyle would have been fabulous with a long, slender slinky number with a thigh high slit. makeup was flawless though and would have gone with anything. and her face. fab in anything. someone less beautiful could not have gotten away with this.
She’s beautiful and i love the make-up, simple ad classy. The dress is hideous.
At first, the headshot made me think she looked oddly square with flat hair, but the CRAZY GORGEOUS ballgown changed my mind – flat hair was just right for this look!
that dress steals attention fro that beautiful face.
i think she nailed it! she looks PERFECT
She was my favorite of the night, and the dress is gorgeous, I mean people might say is too much but I think there are girls like me that dream of wearing those kind of dresses so golden globes are like the best excuse
her dress made me laugh – she’s really playing out her role as a princess! i do love her hair and make up though
