OCC Pleasure Model Nail Lacquer
OCC Pleasure Model Nail Lacquer

OCC Pleasure Model Nail Lacquer ($10.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is described as a “pink-toned pearl.” It’s a pale, warm-toned milky pink with a metallic finish. It had mostly opaque color coverage after two coats, but it was slightly streaky. The consistency was also a bit thicker than average but workable. Cult Nails Angel Whispers (LE, $12.00) has a different finish. Anna Sui Minnie Mouse Snow White (002) (LE, $16.00) has larger sparkle. Tom Ford Beauty Vapour (LE, $30.00) is whiter. Dior Lady (LE, $26.00) is whiter. See comparison swatches or view on The Dupe List.

OCC Seething Nail Lacquer ($10.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is described as a “lingerie satin pink.” It’s a light-medium, yellow-toned pink with metallic, pale gold shimmer/sheen. This applied more evenly than Pleasuremodel, and it had almost no visible brush strokes. It was very nearly opaque after two coats. The lightness coupled with the warmer undertone made this one harder for me to dupe. MAC Ke Ai (LE, $16.00) is warmer. Cult Nails Enticing (P, $12.00) is cooler-toned, less shimmery. China Glaze Encouragement (LE, $7.50) is cooler-toned. See comparison swatches or view on The Dupe List.

OCC Vapid Nail Lacquer ($10.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is described as a “palest lavender.” It’s a very, very pale lavender (almost like a milky, lavender-white) with a cream finish. This had an impressive application, as the initial coat was almost not streaky at all, and the second coat made the resulting finish smooth and even, plus opaque. It’s the lightest lavender I’ve swatched personally, so while the following shades are the closest I can think of, they’re not very close at all. Illamasqua Speckle (LE, $17.00) has large black glitter. Zoya Marley (P, $9.00) is darker. Zoya Julie (P, $9.00) is darker, shimmery. See comparison swatches or view on The Dupe List.

  1. I like the first two shades, I’m just not a fan of the finish. There’s too many visible brush strokes for my liking.

  2. I like them all. I’m really back into softer colors, so these definitely caught my eye :-)

  3. Ooh, Seething hits right in my pink/gold sweet spot. I have no defense against that color.

  4. These are really pretty colors. I like how soft they are.

  5. I really like Pleasure Model and Vapid (oddly, actually, since I don’t usually go for white-based shades!) – maybe it’s because I like Blade Runner as a movie :-)

Vapid would probably look slightly chalky on my nails, but I sort of want it. Is there a greyish undertone in Vapid?

  7. All of them are beautiful! I have many, many, many dark/deeper purples, but I may have to venture towards the lighter side of the spectrum, as Vapid looks particularly amazing since it doesn’t streak.

My goodness your nails look like they’re shining, Christine. So pretty!

  9. I love all of these, but Vapid is my favorite!

  10. Michelle Reece

I like Seething–the color, not the name. The name would be more fitting for crimson, not satin pink!

  11. I need Vapid! I have really been eyeing some of the pastel nail polishes from OCC!

Wow vapid looks really opaque! It’s looks too pale for me to wear on its own without it looking like I’m wearing Tipex, but it looks nice for a nice base colour maybe…

Do you know of any whites or really pale polishes that are one coaters/almost one coaters?

Vapid looks gorgeous! Definitely going to pick that one up.

I’m really turned off by the names “pleasure model” and “vapid” even though I know I should absolutely not be affected by names of nail polish. They just rub me the wrong way.

  15. I’ve never bought anything from this line but I think I’m going to get all three of these! I love them all. they’re so pretty and pastel is supposed to be big this spring. Win, win.

  16. =O I love Seething! These colours are almost too pretty.

  17. Pleasure model and Seething are too light and frosty for my liking. Vapid seems to be a rather unique colour though, and it looks good on you!

  18. Seething looks very cute for springtime!

Hey Christine, how does Seething compare to OCC’s Femme lacquer? I’ve tried comparing swatches online, but the lighting is always different so it’s hard to get a good comparison!
I have Femme and am contemplating on buying Seething, but are they so different/similar?
    Thank you. :D

    • Seething is lighter and warmer!

I think they’re different enough that you can have both, assuming you wear that type of shade often. They’re not dupes, but they’re just lighter/darker versions of “warm pink.”
