NARS Wind Dancer Nail Polish
NARS Wind Dancer Nail Polish

NARS Wind Dancer Nail Polish ($19.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is described as a “cantaloupe.” It’s a light-medium, peachy orange with a jelly-cream finish. Rescue Beauty Lounge NailsandNoms (LE, $20.00) is more orange, shimmery. MAC Riot Gear (LE, $16.00) is yellower, brighter. Chanel June (LE, $27.00) is very similar. See comparison swatches.

Wind Dancer is a new and limited edition shade from the spring collection. Two coats, and it yielded semi-sheer to semi-opaque color coverage–there was noticeable nail line coming through. It actually made nails look a little like candy corn. ┬áThe consistency was slightly thick, as you might expect with a jelly finish polish, but it leveled out on its own, spread evenly, and didn’t streak (which is sometimes a challenge for lighter shades like this). NARS’ polish formula usually wears between seven and ten days on me with minor tip wear and no chipping–it’s one of the longer-wearing formulas for me.

    Such a pretty shade!

  2. I quite like it, it’s very sheer, but pretty, like a tint)))

  4. Nope :/ Half transparent oraneg.. I don’t like it

  5. Haha I also thought of candy corn when I first saw your photos. I really love this shade, but I do wish it was slightly more opaque.

    • Me too! I think with shades like this, that sorta sheer look doesn’t work as well as with other shades. But then again, all I see is candy corn and I’m not a fan!

  6. I like jelly-looking polishes, but I’m just not so sure about this one…from a distance, I’m worried that it could just make your nails look kind of ‘stained in a bad way’.

With the right outfit I think it would look really lovely though…

  7. Looks like just the right consistency to alternate glitter layers with–but I hate orange and I don’t think I’d pay what NARS is asking for a simple colored jelly. But it’d be a way to wear it that would probably make it look less candy corn-y. :)

Too bad it isn’t more opaque it would be a beautiful melon!

  9. Not really a fan of jellies :| But the color itself is pretty! I’d use it if it was an opaque creme polish!
