Milani Runway Eyeshadow: Royalty

Milani Royalty Runway Eyeshadow ($5.99 for 0.07 oz.) is a medium fuchsia purple with a lilac sheen.  It’s like a purple version of MAC Stars ‘n Rockets (without the duochrome).  It’s semi-sheer when used dry, and it’s still a little sheer when used wet.  I like the color, and I think the subtle periwinkle flecks seem to come through a bit, which makes it more nuanced than some of the other shades from Milani’s Runway line.

Check out my original review for my thoughts on the packaging.

  • Product: 23/30
  • Value: 8/10
  • Ease of Use: 4/5
  • Packaging: 2/5

RECOMMENDATION: Color eyeshadow fiends should probably pass, just because it’s nowhere near as pigmented as many top brands for color–but if you just want to play around and experiment with color, this is an affordable way to do so.

Milani eyeshadows are not good. I know for a fact, after reading a magazine, they had Milani Runway Eyeshadow palette (the one with the stripe blocks of eyeshadow)was a go-to palette for great color. I bought it from Walgreens, and the eyeshadows creased after 2 hours, AND they broke a part the day after i bought it.

With every brand almost, one palette can't be the judge of all other palettes of the same brand. The newer Milani reviews have been a lot better here!

Do any of the Milani eyeshadows get an A?

No, none of them worked very well. The packaging alone would make it nearly impossible for this product to get an A.

I'll be honest. I would buy this to put over my Stars N Rockets b/c it has to be one of the worst colour payoffs that I've ever gotten from a mac e/s. This layered over it would seem to bring out the colour nicely.

I've never had any problem with Stars 'n Rockets, lol! But if you have trouble, maybe UD Fishnet?

I would use UD if it was only sold in my country.

i found my stars and rockets not to be as pigmented as well..i had to really get down a few layers it seemed before it started to get better! really weird though

Is it just me or does this seem like a much sheerer version of UD's Asphyxia?

Wet or dry... doesn't make much difference. If anything, the dry swatch looks slightly brighter than the wet swatch. :( And it looks so pretty in the pan!
