Oh wow, that’s even more disappointing. Thank you so much for such a thorough review, Christine!

What a disappointment. I have enough powdery eyeshadows to last me a lifetime with UD, and they have much better colour payoff.

Do you think these would work better with a primer underneath them?

Kristina commented on the post, Are there cult classic beauty products that everyone should own? 5 months, 2 weeks ago

This is such a loaded question, especially considering everyone’s skin and everyone’s taste is so different! I’m sure some would say ‘owning a classic red lipstick/MAC Ruby Woo’, for example, but what about people […]

It will be mine! I already phoned Selfridges about it and they said 1st of September… I can’t wait!

Kristina commented on the post, How do you handle eyeshadow fall out? 6 months, 3 weeks ago

It drives me bananas.

Right now I am finding myself skipping on beautiful colours or textures (I’m looking at you, UD) because the fallout during application is just too much for me: I have to remember to do my […]

Definitely agree! I am now thinking of that second shade in Naked 3 (Buzz? Dust?) which is so pretty in the pan but needs to be built up for ten minutes (with parallel falling on cheeks everywhere) for an ersatz […]

I’m definitely passing. I’ve been so disappointed with Naked3 and Naked Basics, no need to add onto that.

The powderiness and fallout during application (even after tapping off) is the biggest no-no for me, and […]

Your skin tone/coloring: light/medium NC/20-25

Your go-to lip color right now? Hourglass Child lipgloss or Barry M Bubblegum lipgloss (on top of Benefit lolitint)

The blush you can’t stop wearing? Benefit […]

Perfect! The only thing I would swap or skip is the lip colour, especially if you tend to lick your lips when you’re nervous like i do. Simple lip balm (or a tinted one if you want to get fancy) is the way to go.

Oh, it has become my Holy Grail daily tinted moisturiser! I’m wearing it right now :) I actually think it smells heavily of sunscreen too, so it reminds me of summer and I actually quite like it.

I find that I […]

I just ordered this. I think, for me, the appeal is in the compact presentation: you could take this and only this and go on vacation, and I’d get both a minimal or a more bam! look.

I have Lovelust and Orgasm, […]

Pro: the glossy finish. It takes much less time to get it than if you were to use a hairdryer.

Con: it flattens pretty much everything. Unless you backcomb or curl afterwards, the hair looks pretty limp.

Aw, what a disappointment that the sparkles fall out! I think I might give them a miss, even though that green one looks beautiful.

Kristina commented on the post, How often do you use eyeshadow primer? 11 months, 4 weeks ago

Aaaah, the advantage of non-oily lids, Christine!

I wear eyeshadow primer every day if I am wearing shadow, or it ends up creased and messy, which is a good look if that’s what you want to go, I guess, but… […]

Thank you so much for replying, Christine! I might just splurge on brushes then, because the eyeshadow quality doesn’t seem worth the price.

Hi Christine, I was wondering which Tom Ford eyeshadow palette you would recommend. I really want to splurge on one, but I am scared it will be a miss (like Ice Queen and, to a lesser extent, this one). Is there […]

…How disappointing! It’s same old, same old.

To be honest, though, I was going to pass on this as soon as I read the shade names: Orgasm is the only NARS blush I own, and it is also the ONLY blush I own to […]

@xamyx: This makes a case for continued use, even with a difficult start! I am now excited again for this palette: I know to use primer and to keep at it until the eyeshadows soften, hopefully.

Can’t return used makeup here in the UK. I caved and ordered it online, but now I’m second-guessing myself. Like you mentioned, Christine, some shades will just take more work. It’s just so portable and the […]

I have been eyeing a few Nars shades for a while (Lhasa, Coconut Grove, Mekong) but I am not a fan of singles, so when I saw this I thought it was going to be the Second Coming. Considering your review, I wouldn’t […]
