Temptalia Asks You

What makeup are you planning to wear for New Year’s Eve? Share!
Temptalia's AnswerRight now, I know for sure I’m going to be wearing Tom Ford’s Escapade & Pink Haze eyeshadows… I will probably do Tom Ford Love Lust and/or Guerlain Parure de Nuit on cheeks. Not sure on lips yet, but I’m thinking Chanel Dragon or Guerlain Gems. NYE is one of the few days I let myself use whatever I want and not worry so much about testing (but I might test stuff earlier in the day, and then remove and switch!). Although, that was the plan for Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and I ended up testing a slew of new things instead (but truly, I couldn’t resist!).

Every year it seems as if I get all dressed up to stay at home by myself, lol. This year, I’m thinking I might just celebrate and enter the new year bare faced.

  2. I’m going to a twenties themed party, so it’s going to be dark, smudgy eyes and dark lips! I’m going to blend a few MAC reds with a plummy Rimmel colour get that perfect deep, ’20s shade.

  3. I’m almost definitely not going to go out, so I’m probably not going to put any makeup on! At best, I’ll have a few beers with my boyfriend–at worst, he’ll have to work and I’ll watch “The Twilight Zone” on SyFy.

  4. I think I’m going to go all out with my MUFE #15 (metallic violet) lipstick. Silver glitter will probably also be involved somewhere. If not at new years, then when? I always feel that a night with so many fireworks deserves makeup that pops too!

  5. I’m not going anywhere/doing anything, but I want to do a black smokey with gold leaf accents for my half day at work and leave it on through my videogaming and cat snuggling.

Depends where I go, if (hopefully) I get to go out somewhere I’m going to wear a green smokey eye and use MAC Talk Of The Town (that was my splurge today…) as my all over ethereal shimmer.

What a fitting question! I was been pondering this myself. I got the Urban Decay Naked 3 for Christmas, so thinking of that since they are rosy golds and that would be fun for New Years. I would like to incorporate a smoky eye with it.

  8. My husband’s friend owns a bar, so we are going there. I am not sure what I am wearing or what makeup I will put on. I will be testing makeup all day to see what looks good.

  9. I will probably rock a fun, metallic silver and black smokey eye… with a neutral blush, and maybe either a deep nude or purple lip? I have not decided yet… I think I’ll just experiment to see what looks nice with the eye look! Happy New Year!

I’ll just be going to a small house party, so nothing over the top. Maybe a deep red lip?

I plan to have fun. Have three different events and will probably wear three slightly different looks.
But when the ball drops, I am pretty sure I’ll be wearing something close to:

    Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation
YSL Touché Éclat illuminator as an under eye concealer
    The following MAC products:
    EYES
Opalesse on lid with MAC Arena for warmth
Amorous Alloy (spring 2014 collection) in outer crease
Possibly Blackberry or a deep bronze/taupe (custom blend) in outer V

    CHEEKS
May just be highlighter and contour this year. Alternatively, maybe a sheer wash of a wine shade.

Possible midnight blue (almost black) upper liner.
Maybe peacock blue or UD Ransom in Lowe lash line over charcoal liner.
Well defined brows. Almost 1940 style.
Lips will be a softened, lightly applied cranberry matte that complements the darker shadows.

Or at least that’s the thought today.

  12. I haven’t figured out exactly what I’ll be putting together but I’m planning on lots of glitter, maybe a bold vampy lip and some fierce highlighting and contouring lol

  13. I like going for shimmer and glow on New Year’s…and this year I’m going to mix it up by putting away my red lipsticks and bringing out an electric hot pink instead! Happy New Year everyone <3

  14. Nothing special or New Years-y, but my boyfriend is going to come and stay for a couple of weeks with me (in two days, yay!) and we’re definitely going to go out and visit our favourite restaurants and walk around romantically… So I’m planning on breaking in my newest purchases – Sleek’s blushes in Fenberry and Antique (browny plummy subdued winter colours) and lipsticks in Cranberry and Plush (dark berry and burgundy colours). I’ll go with next to nothing on my eyes – just a hint of eyeliner.

  15. I don’t know if I’ll be wearing any makeup or not for New Years Eve. If I do though I’ll probably wear a combination of Mac, Urban Decay, and Benefit as they’re the brands I’m loving right now.

  16. My Mother-in-law gave me my first Inglot eyeshadows for Christmas, so I’ll be using the glittery turquoise colour on the inner to mid lid and Stella loose shadow from sugarpill at the outer corner and crease to do a sparkly turquoise smokey eye with MAC Pinch Me blush and MAC naked proof lipstick. Then I’ll probably throw some turquoise glitter at the lower lash line. New Years = GLITTER.
