Make Up For Ever #44 Rouge Artist Intense Lipstick
More Scarlet Hues by Make Up For Ever
Make Up For Ever #44 Rouge Artist Intense Lipstick ($19.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a rich shade of neutral-cool red–a shade that’s just a hint blue but so close to neutral. This is a shimmer-free red that still has a slight sheen, so it’s not matte either. There is plenty of color pay off in a single layer, and between the formula and the richness of the hue, it stays on my lips for six hours with ease.
The Rouge Artist Intense formula is typically opaque, and while it’s not a moisturizing lipstick, it’s not a drying one either, though it does not feel creamy against the lips (it may take a little more pressure to apply than your average lipstick). With lighter shades, I see four hours of wear, but with richer or darker shades like #44, I get as much as six.

Is it limited edition?
No.
Any dupes?
MAC Russian Red, Illamasqua Encounter
That is such a flattering, pretty shade of red! I don't pay too much attention to reds but this one seems perfect to me. It's not too bright, either, which is nice. I disagree with the person above- It looks especially nice on you, Christine.
HOTTIEHOTHOT! Just might get it, even though I typically despise even a hint of blue in lip colors on me.
I bought this a few months ago and it quickly became my all-time favorite red lipstick. I'm very pale with pretty neutral undertones and I've never found a red that works on me as well as this one! I don't really agree with Russian Red as a dupe, though. I've swatched them side-by-side and it seems to me that Russian Red is considerably brighter and more blue-based (and matte, of course).
Thank you for the review. This red is beautiful, and it looks lovely on you. Too bad I don't have the confidence to pull off such a pretty color. :(
While we're at it, I disagree too! I prefer dark shades such as this one on Christine as opposed to a nude or a light pink.
Why would you even say that? Not constructive at all.... Have you ever heard "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all?" I think that applies here. Besides...she is just swatching the colour anyways.
