Bronze Hero
MAC Style Warriors Sneak Peek
You know as soon as I get word of anything new, I’m totally passing it on–so here are a few product photos, swatches, and lip swatches from three items from Style Warriors. It also looks like Style Warriors is having some unveiling parties as early as May 5th, and my store told me it launches on May 21st. The original release date for this collection is/was May 28th. I definitely suggest calling your local store in a week or two if you want to make sure you don’t miss the launch date. (I’m going to be doing the same!)
Not sure what Style Warriors is?
The Goods…
- Purple Rite is a plummy-pink. Despite looking quite daunting in the tube, it’s really sheer and not nearly as deep as it looks. I was pleasantly surprised at how it turned out! My says it is a lustre finish, and it does feel like one, but I can’t promise it is.
- Tribalist is an opaque, deep reddish berry brown. It’s not super opaque, but it gets pretty pigmented with a few layers. This is definitely a color I suggest using both a lip liner and a lip brush to apply, so you can get the perfect application. I don’t know the finish of this lipstick yet, sorry!
- Bronze Hero is a peachy shade with a little bit of orange and lots of gold shimmer in it. The texture reminds me of a thinner glimmershimmer. The packaging is interesting, because they’re like the puff paints found in craft stores. There’s a very thin “tube” that you squeeze product out of, rather than the glimmershimmers which came in glass packaging and used a pump to disperse the product. When initially squeezed out, the color comes out strong (so a little will do you), but sheering it out gives just a little bit of shimmery glow. I do feel this product is better for body than face, but I think you can still use on the face, too. Just easier to add it to your favorite lotion

** NOTE: The packaging of the lipsticks is not final. Both lipsticks were actually marked as samples with working names that differ from the names decided upon for the collection. Final packaging will be themed as the promotional images show for this collection!
Hey Christine do you know if we have to pay to be on the list? I received an invite but I haven't RSVP'd yet.
Thank so much Christine!! I have RSVP'd on Tuesday, May 12th at 7:30 pm wohhooooooo!! sooo excited!! This will be my first unveiling event!!
I live in NY and the unveiling party I got an invite for is on the 12th.(I hope I can make it) Thanks for posting these pics..
I don't know about this collection really.. I may get a couple of the lustre drops and maybe an eyeshadow or two!
I really can't wait for this collection, that would be AMAZING if it came out early. I'm going to stop at my counter today and ask. I wasn't going to get Purple Rite, but it's nice! I may get it after seeing your picture!
I was speaking to the girl at my local MAC last weekend & she said too that the launch date changed & will be earlier than the original May 28th. Her sources say May 20th at their location for a launch & she claims the feedback they are getting is that this is going to be a big launch, hence the need to move it up a week. Who knows. I'm excited, if not for anything but the purple & yellow eyeshadows (Vibrant Grape & Bright Future) you showed us in the original product info post. I hope they swatch as vibrant as they looked in the pictures. If i recall, there were also some nice looking neutral lippies being launched with this collection. We shall see...Thx for the update & swatches Christine!
Yeah when i called to preorder my stuff from Nordstrom, the ladysaid that they received an email saying that the displays will be up and the products out by may 20th. She said even then, it might be a couple days earlier.
Bronze Hero is soooo gorgeous : I'm getting all of those lustre drops LOL I just love everything that's goldeny and I'm sure mixed with moisturizer for the face it can really give a nice glow.
I'm really excited about the different bronzers in this collection, i'm a bronzing/self tanning addict!
Oh wow! The lipsticks are sheerer than I thought. That might be a good things with the darkest one. And I.want.those.LUSTREDROPS!!!!
Hey Christine! Thanks for the sneek peak! Just a question though, is tribalist like Hang up Cremesheen at all? I'm trying to cut down on spending for the colour craft collection.
No prob, Brenda! I'd say it's similar. I can't remember exactly how close they'd be, but they are definitely in the same family.
I love it all - too bad I spent so much on Rose Romance, LOL. I wish Tribalist was more purple and less red. Very excited for this collection and thank God it launches right after I get paid!
Purple Rite is a frost, Tribalist is amplified :) Also, at training they said the lustre drops were more like face & body foundation fx rather than glimmershimmers. I thought they were similar too! HTH.
i was told that the lustre drops are used to be mixed in with foundaton to give you a glow... because it's such a small tube, it wouldn't be ideal to be used in large areas of the body but of course with any cosmetics -- there are no boundaries =)
