Bronze Hero

MAC Style Warriors Sneak Peek

You know as soon as I get word of anything new, I’m totally passing it on–so here are a few product photos, swatches, and lip swatches from three items from Style Warriors. It also looks like Style Warriors is having some unveiling parties as early as May 5th, and my store told me it launches on May 21st. The original release date for this collection is/was May 28th. I definitely suggest calling your local store in a week or two if you want to make sure you don’t miss the launch date. (I’m going to be doing the same!)

Not sure what Style Warriors is?

The Goods…

  • Purple Rite is a plummy-pink. Despite looking quite daunting in the tube, it’s really sheer and not nearly as deep as it looks. I was pleasantly surprised at how it turned out! My says it is a lustre finish, and it does feel like one, but I can’t promise it is.
  • Tribalist is an opaque, deep reddish berry brown. It’s not super opaque, but it gets pretty pigmented with a few layers. This is definitely a color I suggest using both a lip liner and a lip brush to apply, so you can get the perfect application. I don’t know the finish of this lipstick yet, sorry!
  • Bronze Hero is a peachy shade with a little bit of orange and lots of gold shimmer in it. The texture reminds me of a thinner glimmershimmer. The packaging is interesting, because they’re like the puff paints found in craft stores. There’s a very thin “tube” that you squeeze product out of, rather than the glimmershimmers which came in glass packaging and used a pump to disperse the product. When initially squeezed out, the color comes out strong (so a little will do you), but sheering it out gives just a little bit of shimmery glow. I do feel this product is better for body than face, but I think you can still use on the face, too. Just easier to add it to your favorite lotion ;)

  3. Purple rite is so sexy and bronze hero. I’m glad they pushed up the date cuz I’m already in love with this collection.

  4. Haley

  5. Purple Rite looks interesting! *Takes note* Thanks Christine x

Fortunately this collection doesn’t interest me at all. Just as well as I’ll be spending plenty on the Rose romance and Color Craft collections. :)

    • Stephanie

I agree. Nothing really grabs me on this collection. we’ll see how I feel when it comes out I guess. The only thing I like is the zebra/leopard casing. But it’s not really worth buying a color I don’t like for the casing.

    • lol, that is good news for you then ;)

  7. oooohhh I want both lippies!

  8. Arika BH

Tribalist looks like Desire l/s by MAC or Voodoo l/g by Prescriptives. It will look amazing though on dark skin tones or dramatic on fair people. I can’t wait for Purple Rite though. MAC’s summer collections are the best!

  9. the lipsticks look pretty but I probably wouldn’t get it since I’m into pink lipsticks right now hehe

  10. i was told that the lustre drops are used to be mixed in with foundaton to give you a glow… because it’s such a small tube, it wouldn’t be ideal to be used in large areas of the body
but of course with any cosmetics — there are no boundaries =)

    purple rite looks awesome!

  12. anonymous

Christine, how much are the lustre drops? I want Bronze Hero and Sun hero!

  13. Oooh, Tribalist looks gorgeous!

  14. naomi

stupid question- are the lustre drops liquid?

  15. Purple Rite is a frost, Tribalist is amplified :)
Also, at training they said the lustre drops were more like face & body foundation fx rather than glimmershimmers. I thought they were similar too! HTH.

I love it all – too bad I spent so much on Rose Romance, LOL. I wish Tribalist was more purple and less red. Very excited for this collection and thank God it launches right after I get paid!

  17. Susan

I actually got an invitation for the release party and my event is for May 12.

  18. Brenda

    Hey Christine!

Thanks for the sneek peak! Just a question though, is tribalist like Hang up Cremesheen at all? I’m trying to cut down on spending for the colour craft collection.

  19. Cx

    I like the lippies …nice.

  20. Oh wow! The lipsticks are sheerer than I thought. That might be a good things with the darkest one.

  22. Margot

Bronze Hero is soooo gorgeous : I’m getting all of those lustre drops LOL I just love everything that’s goldeny and I’m sure mixed with moisturizer for the face it can really give a nice glow.

I was speaking to the girl at my local MAC last weekend & she said too that the launch date changed & will be earlier than the original May 28th. Her sources say May 20th at their location for a launch & she claims the feedback they are getting is that this is going to be a big launch, hence the need to move it up a week. Who knows. I’m excited, if not for anything but the purple & yellow eyeshadows (Vibrant Grape & Bright Future) you showed us in the original product info post. I hope they swatch as vibrant as they looked in the pictures. If i recall, there were also some nice looking neutral lippies being launched with this collection. We shall see…Thx for the update & swatches Christine!

  24. Erin

I really can’t wait for this collection, that would be AMAZING if it came out early. I’m going to stop at my counter today and ask. I wasn’t going to get Purple Rite, but it’s nice! I may get it after seeing your picture!

  25. Jenny

There aren’t any unveiling parties in Minnesota, which is so unfortunate.

  26. Sabrina

I don’t know about this collection really.. I may get a couple of the lustre drops and maybe an eyeshadow or two!

  27. aradhana

christine–in your opinion, is tribalist similar/dupeable by previous mac lipsticks?

  28. Chrissy

I live in NY and the unveiling party I got an invite for is on the 12th.(I hope I can make it) Thanks for posting these pics..

  29. carriespooner

I just love the summer collections. These are so gorgeous.

  30. Hey Christine do you know if we have to pay to be on the list? I received an invite but I haven’t RSVP’d yet.

  31. How did you get your hands on these items Christine?
