MAC Spring Colour Forecast: Lipsticks Reviews, Photos, Swatches (Part 2)
And I bring you part two… and the LAST of all of Spring Colour Forecast reviews. Now, I’m going to go pass out. Or something!
Spring Colour 2 Forecast — Lipsticks
- Rose Maiden is a brightened up red-berry with a frosty finish and sheen. It applies nearly opaque on lips.
- Fresh Salmon is a medium salmon pink with a golden shimmer and lustre finish. When applied, the golden sheen is really apparent.
- Victorian is a bright pop of cool-toned pink with a golden sheen. It kind of reminded me of my new favorite pink, Guerlain Giulette, but it’s much cooler. When applied, this goes on mostly opaque and almost looks and feels creamy.
- Colour Me Coral is a light coral with some beige in it and a frost finish. With its frost finish, it does have a tendency to look too frosty on lips, but with a creamy gloss–say Ember Glow–I think it’ll be just fine.
Spring Colour 4 Forecast — Lipsticks
- Beigeland is a semi-sheer, shimmery pink-beige with almost a metallic sheen. It’s a frost finish, and I think it applies a bit unevenly alone, so it’s something that needs to be used with a lip brush or else finished with a gloss.
- Bronzilla is a reddened bronze with a very metallic sheen. Like Beigeland, it’s also a frost finish lipstick, but it reads more metallic. I found it applied better than Beigeland for evenness, but I’d personally layer a gloss on top to make it really pop and work in a look.

Are there any dupes for Mac Fresh Salmon that you know of? Is Nars Niagra close?

Hey Christine just wondering do yo think color me coral is kind of the same as lolipop loving from the sugar sweet collection just in a different finish?
It doesn't have the green cast of Lollipop Loving, IMO!
Now I know I have to get Victorian. It's looked so great and versatile in the looks you've done with this collection!
Do you think Fresh Salmon can look like Surprise Me?
They're not the same on me, but if you have more red in your lips, maybe...

Christine What color to the permanent line would you say victorian is like? Based on your lip swatches it sort of reminds me of how Angel looks on my lips. What do you think?
None, to be honest. At best, it's similar to See Sheer, but I think they're pretty different! Angel doesn't look anything like Victorian on me, IMO!
My MACpro card was renewed in store and my new card hasn't come yet. Does the pro discount apply to this collection? I can't sign in to the website yet and it's KILLING me. ALSO, how do you think the peach ombre will look on olive complections? CANNNOT WAIT TO BUY IT.

I went into MAC Pro last Friday and I asked about the Colour Forecast items. They didn't have them out yet (the MUA told me they were coming this coming Wednesday??) but anyways, she still took me to the back and let me swatch the items so I was super excited. I was looking foward to Bubblegum the most.. which looks kind of like a mix between a lighter version of Up The Amp and sort of like Lavender Whip.. But I'm definitely stocking up on them. I tried Victorian too because I really liked your swatches of it and I liked how it looked "non-frosty" even though it's a frost.. but it looked like a salmon-y pink to me.. was it like that for you as well?? I was bummed that I couldn't get any of the new items but I'll come back this week.. I got some lipmixes and other pro lipsticks instead! So excited

Is Bronzilla close to the slimshine Cocoamour?
Cocoamour was pretty brown on me from what I remember, but it's been awhile since I've really swatched it!
I'm probably asking the same question others have in a different way, but does Fresh Salmon end up looking coral-y on the lips or more of a true pink? I'm trying to decide between Color Me Coral (which looks maybe too light and frosty for me), Bronzilla (maybe too 80s on me?) and Fresh Salmon. I think I've decided on Kumquat lipglass, if it's not too bright. I recently got Lush and Bright and it is gorgeous, but too glittery for my 40 year old self!
Fresh Salmon tends to look more pinky on me, though still not straight pink or anything. I like Fresh Salmon the most out of the three you mentioned.
I know for sure I want the lady gaga viva glam. The pink color seems pretty close to victorian or bubblegum. Would you think I'd be safe skipping since I'm getting the gaga one? Just from pics you have seen of the gaga viva glam--I know you haven't swatched yet. Thanks so much :)
I think Bubblegum might have a different shimmer and more of a lilac-y shade. Really hard to tell without swatching (and see the pigmentation).
Do you have pictures of the actual Gaga and Cyndi VG lipsticks up now?

I was wondering does Beigeland look anything similar to 1N lipstick? Thanks for all the review and swatches, it always helps me out with the colors.
hmmm...aaahhh christine i thought i was over the lipsticks, and now i'm starting to consider victorian and fresh salmon...! though i'd have to swatch them to be sure about frost levels...sometimes the frosty shades just don't work for me...they make me look like an aunty, if you know what i mean.

Salmon looks like a safely beautiful bet, but victorian looks tasty for bold looks. Victorian seems like it could look amazing or be a total mess, but sometimes you have to go out on a limb and take a chance.
Fresh Salmon seems similar to "Lollipop Lovin" or is my LCD screen just throwing the color off?
It completely lacks the green duochrome shimmer that makes Lollipop Lovin' so unique! I'd personally say Fresh Salmon is a brighter pink, too!
I love lollipop loving... so I guess that means I'm getting fresh salmon AND colour me coral. I'm loving everything coral and peach and gold lately... This collection is perfect for my mood lately :)

Do you think Made with love l/s from Colour craft collection is a good alternative to Fresh Salmon? Or any other possible lipsticks that are similar..I am on a budget and trying to cut my list down a bit.
Kind of. It's much lighter and maybe not as salmon pink and more medium pink.
Beigeland looks so good on your lips.I am thinking about buying that one.

How similar are bronzilla and beigeland to high tea?
Beigeland is beiger/fleshier than High Tea, and Bronzilla isn't like it at all, IMO!
I think your lip swatches are one of my favorite things you do - SO helpful and I really appreciate it! I mean, am I crazy, or does Fresh Salmon look like it could be a half-decent substitute for Gems when I run out of it? It's very, very pretty at any rate and I want it either way, but if it satisfies my desire for gold-laced pinky coral I will be very happy :) I also LOVE Rose Maiden, even though I don't generally get excited about frosts. I'll have to see about picking it up. Will have to do some depotting so I can B2M for some of these and save $$!

Sigh! I know, right? Trying to focus on the fact that it is a lovely lipstick in and of itself and I want it for that reason. Because really, no more $30+ lipsticks for me after Gems and my two Rouge Allure Laques.

Shhh! Don't taunt me! Anyway, I said $30+. That still allows me plenty of Glossimers, KissKiss glosses, Aqualumiere lipsticks...:P

Hmm, more bronzy, more metallic than Spiced Tea - more metallic and not so frosty, you know? I can't remember what Shag looks like at all at the moment, lol!
