Ice Cream Cake, Little Girl Type, Mischievous Mint
MAC Quite Cute Collection: Nail Lacquers
MAC Quite Cute Collection ($14.00 for 0.4 fl. oz.) features three light shades of limited edition nail lacquer. They include: Ice Cream Cake (creamy blue pink), Little Girl Type (creamy pale lavender), and Mischievous Mint (creamy pale blue mint).
- Ice Cream Cake is a darkened cotton candy pink with a strong blue base with a cream finish. I used two coats. It is similar to Essie’s Splash of Grenandine–slightly more blue-based.
- Little Girl Type is a light lavender with a cream finish. I used two coats. It is similar to China Glaze’s Light as Air.
- Mischievous Mint is a bluish mint green with a cream finish. I used two coats. It is bluer but similar in lightness to China Glaze’s Re-Fresh Mint. This is much, much lighter than last year’s Peppermint Patti, and it is a blue-based mint green.
my thoughts on the formula: The consistency was thick but watery–not terribly so, but noteworthy nonetheless. I used two coats on all, because it was difficult to get thin to medium-thin coats because of how the brush splayed out. In all three polishes, the bristles of each brush were a bit wonky, which made it more difficult to get really clean, even coats. I recommend being patient, because the slight wateriness in the formula will cause streaking if you apply before the coat dries down.
Where to Buy: MAC Cosmetics, April 7th in-stores, approximately April 4th online
The Glossover
The formula wasn't too difficult to work with, but it could be improved. Make sure you roll these before applying, because these definitely needed some mixing to minimize the watery consistency.

Product & Review FAQ
Where can I purchase these? How much are they?
MAC Cosmetics on April 7th in-stores, approximately April 4th online -- $14.00 each.
Is it limited edition?
Yes.
Any dupes?
See individual shade for dupe.
I bought all three...all pretty colors...Little Girl Type is my fav! Mischievous mint is fun but it looks more like a light teal on me slightly more bluish than what I'd consider a mint to be...and Ice Cream Cake should just be renamed Barbie pink...it's so pretty and super girly! On the downside I agree the formula is just not that great and the brush doesn't help either...I had to use 2-3 thick coats...which take forever to dry!
this almost feels like they bit off china glaze's up and away collection. 1. ice cream cake=sugar high 2. little girl type=light as air 3. mischievous mint=re-fresh mint. theyre all soo close.
do you know any good dupes for mischievous mint? cuz in canada, this is $17, and i just cant justify spending that much money on a nail polish. opi is more in my price range, though its still expensive at $11
I just went out and got essie liliacism and painted it on my pinky. I still can't quite put a finger on it's comparison to little girl type lol. Let me know your thoughts thanks!
Hi Is mischievous mint sort of similar to Essie mint candy apple ? In terms of lightness in shade and in terms of tone/color . Thanks ! =D
These don't look unique. I have colors in my collection that are similar enough that I don't need the MAC colors, and they were half the price. I really want to like the Quite Cute collection, but it's not really working for me. :-(
Hi Christine! have you ever tried Revlon nail polishes? I'm just wondering how it would compare to "mint"? and the lavender to 'lilac pastelle'? thanx so much :)
I have Mischievous Mint and it is a lovely colour but the brush is rubbish, the bristles are splayed out and it makes it harder to use. MAC REALLY need to sort the brushes out. I know you no longer review OPI but I think OPI Panda-Monium Pink could be a possible dupe or near enough to Little Girl Type but I'm not 100% sure, might be a bit too pink or possibly Lucky Lucky Lavender could work instead.
They're not even close - Mischievous Mint is SO SO SO light in comparison. It's like pastel blue vs. navy blue - not dupes!
wow Ice cream cake and Mischievous Mint are really gorgeous. if i cant find any dupes im gonna have to get at least ice cream cake
I love Mischeivious Mint and Little Girl! Amazing! Christine, is there a reason why you don't review OPI products ? Just wondering, thanks :)
The last two remind me of the Lacey Lilac & Mint Sorbet from Sally Hansen (were $2 at wal-mart).. I have them on my hands & nails right now & comparing them to your swatches.
I do not feel like this is very unique at all! China Glaze, Essie and OPI have similar colors for half the cost (actually, a 1/3 if you buy from online vendors). Oh well. I suppose I didn't need a reason to buy more polish anyways.
is Mischievous Mint anything like for Audrey? and if u have for Audrey is this one different enought to need both?
Mischievous Mint is coming home with me! I don't even care if the formula sucks, I'm loving pastels right now.
Hey Christine, could you post a swatch comparison of the CG Refresh Mint and the MAC Mischievous Mint next to each other? Thanks in advance! :)
I'm not doing nail comparison swatches at this time, sorry! :( I have reviews of both products with photos, so you can always look at those.
I don't want to support OPI, because of how they threatened bloggers with a lawsuit, didn't apologize, and at this point, because they told their fans that they did apologize to me - but they never spoke a word to me.
You have the price listed as $13, but when I placed my Nordstroms pre-order the price for each is $14.50. I'm confused...
