MAC Peacocky Collection

MAC Peacocky Collection for Spring 2011

U.S. Launch Date: January 6th, 2011

Arrogance or elegance? The showy display, the undeniably sexual spectacle, the iridescent irreverence…it’s awe-inspiring. We fetishize the exotic peacock as a symbol of extreme beauty, an act of elaborate nature, raging against everything simplistic. Peacocky fans out in a foray of intense colour for Lips and Eyes, exotic and sophisticated with a touch of ’30s F. Scott Fitzgerald glamour and mesmerizing metallic sheen. New Kissable Lipcolour combines full flash with creamy comfort. It’s molten, with elastomer technology that imparts a velvety, aerated feel without sacrificing shine. Light as a feather. Mega Metal Shadow gleams like chrome, with light-reflecting properties – yet creamy, crease-resistant, vitamin-fortified flexibility. Dramatic doesn’t even begin to describe the girl who knows she’s Peacocky.

Kissable Lipcolour ($18.00 U.S. / $21.50 CDN) (Limited Edition)

Kissable Lipcolour provides medium coverage with the creamy comfort of a lipstick and a shiny finish of a lipgloss. The lightweight, comfortable formula is loaded with super emollient ingredients that provide a cushiony feel on the lips. The colour flows like silk, encasing the lips in creamy, luscious colour. Like a molten lipstick, the product melts onto thel ips and feels light and airy. It provides medium coverage with a luminous, smooth finish. It’s feather-resistant and wears for hours.

I’m looking forward to the swatches so i know for sure which ones to get!!

  3. Amanda Dubs

Are these eyeshadows big like the tartan tale ones? hmmmm

Christine, when you get these, can you compare the mega metal shadows to NARS Night shadows? I see some similar colors and since they’re only $3.50 difference in price, I could see myself getting either/or.

  6. Lucie

Oh man, I need that blue gloss since Illamasqua can’t ship their Disciple lipstick to the U.S.! Really excited for this, think it’s strange that the eyeshadows are so expensive though…don’t think I’ll be getting more than one or two of those!

  7. Avatar of Jen JEN

Another set of metal eyeshadows? When is MAC going to stop this madness…their metal eyeshadows suck!

  8. Courtney

The shadows don’t interest me, but I’ve been itching for lippy swatches for months!

  9. sefanie

Didn’t Mac already have a shadow named Ego that was pink?

    • Avatar of Emily Emily

I was just thinking that!!! Yes it came out with another collection!!! Can’t remember the name. Style snob was in it too! Is a light pink

  10. Ashley D.

    Oh no, this is dangerous.

  11. Heather

I am trying so hard not to get my hopes up for peacocky… it looks like a gorgeous, interesting blue, but knowing MAC it’s gonna be way sheer and not anywhere near as unique as it looks right now. I guess i need to see the swatches

    • Isobel

yeah their blue dazzleglass and the springbean lustreglass were disappointing. Illamasqua has opaque blue, silver and black coloured lipsticks and glosses and a green lipgloss if that helps you any :)

  12. Roma

I think I just fell in love… I must have EVERYTHING! *cries*

  13. This is the first collection in a LONG time that I’ve been excited for!

  14. Avatar of LU LU

I have been dying for pics of this collection! Now I am dying for swatches!

  15. Brittany

I wish these had special packaging!!

  16. Aelya

Ego and top of the posh seems so beautiful ! Want it

  17. Isobel

thanks Christine for the pics! still keeping with my picks from the descriptions but kwl to see what they actually look like. Hoping some site comes out with Mickey Contractor pics soon so they can go up here!

  18. Miss Silver

Another collection? …well, if they have a deep green biased teal, matte and shimmer, I might consider. I’m madly in love with green biased teals.

  19. Ok the collection looks great, but what isn’t this clashing with Mickey Contractors collaboration with Mac?? I’m hoping to pick up stuff at Duty Free!!!!

  20. Trish

Loving Odalisque! And I need ‘Tweet Me’ on general principle. At $19.50 these aren’t cheap but I’ll wind up splurging anyway.

  21. Bunny

Oh no, that will be the death of my wallet.

  22. NeenaJ

All I want for Christmas is… MAC Peacocky Collection! Can’t wait!

  23. MAC…you’re going to make me broke…

  24. for some reason I always get excited for the metal creme shadows . . but then I remember I always end up swapping mine or getting rid of them. They crease to much for me to use them as a shadow or a base. . and the lip colors will be passed on as well doe to their amount of product vs the price.

  25. saku

    OMG those lip colors.

  26. saja

heey cristine i was wondering why the eyeshadows cause much more then regular eyeshadowsre they bigger?

  27. Eileen

omg I think I need them all ….

  28. Not my color palette, but seeing this collection brings to mind something I’ve been thinking about – recently I haven’t seen lip glasses being released as part of special collections, is this because they’re trying to get us to buy the dazzle glasses and others which are $4 more? Ya, I think so.

  29. Amanda Enn

I’m really excited to see the lip color swatches and eyeshadows !

  30. Avatar of Ana Meg

    OMG The colors! O__O
that peacocky kissable lipcolour looks awesome!

  31. amara

hello, when will this be released in the uk? xxx

  32. Laura

Do you know when you will be able to swatch these?

  33. Lizzy

Color!!! They know how to drain me of every cent in my madness for purples and teals and gold….

    Oh, goodness.

  34. Amanda

The collection pic oddly reminds me of “Avatar” lol.. which isn’t a bad thing. I wonder if MAC was leaning toward that kind of look.. =\

  35. Suzanne

Peacocky – a blue lip colour. Interesting.

  36. Nunuiviet

I love the ad picture it looks beautiful

  37. a.fods

    super dooper excited!

  38. ashlie

are these going to be bigger than the normal eyeshadows?? like will i be able to depot them into my palettes?

  39. cameo

i love it!!!!!!! but kinda wish they did like a turquiose and gold packaging..or something diffrent..but im still inlove with it lol :)

  40. Avatar of Danielle Danni

To me this collection does not seem to have anything really special about it. Will this be all to the collection or will there be more added later?

  41. Ohhhh I love the eyeshadows!!!

  42. I´m waiting with high hopes for this collection. Love it!

  43. Therese

I love these bold colors! I don’t think I personally can pull them off but looking at them makes me happy :)

    • Erika

Hey Christine, I’m excited about this collection!!Is there anyway you can mention in your swatches and reviews what the texture/finish of the Mega Metal e/s are closest to IE: Starflash, veluxe pearl etc?? Thanks!

  44. Kaytee

These are SO going to be my *big* makeup purchase of 2011. The eye shadows=in love!

  45. Carla

why is there 2 collections coming out at the same time for 2 months in a row?

  46. sophie

mac once again really missed an opportunity for really awesome packaging

  47. Avatar of Donna Donna

This is killin’ me…who’s idea was it to release so many gorgeous collections almost at once? I can’t wait for Peacocky..Flaunting It…the grey mauve lippie reminds me SO much of a color that Calvin Klein put out with his first makeup collection (that rocked) in 2000 called Ash Rose…it was awesome and of course long discontinued. May need a few of those…along with the rest of the collection…guess I need to go pawn someone’s firstborn…LOL

  48. Nunuiviet

Not interested coz I don’t use lip glasses and I rarely use eyeshadow…

  49. anabel

    can’t wait for this collection!

  50. ms.mad

Already on pro website. What is mac trying to do to us. I love when they release them early but my addiction with make up is going crazy!!Can’t wit to see swatches :)

  51. Ms Trendy

Collection is now available on MAC PRO site as of this morning (along with the mac + mickey contractor collection)

    • Naty

Yesterday SA at local mac who knows my love to Mac let me peek at this collection. Yes it is already arrived in stores ready to go on sale soon. Anyway unfortunately for my wallet but quality of shadows are amazing and colors are wonderful as on the pictures. I tried also lip colour and fell in love. Doesnt feel greasy and pretty weightless on lips, doesnt feather either. LOVE it.

  52. Avatar of Guadalupe VJNS

What to choose what to choose? I wish MAC would sell their very large collections like they did with Tartan Tale. At least it was sold in sections and I was able to buy most of the products. Now I’ll have to buy only what I can budget for.

  53. Sammm

meh this all looks boring to me… my wallet is safe untill Jeanius comes out

  54. Jennifer

oh i want centre stage bad!

  55. Megan

you should show how they look on your face and lips

  56. Raegan H

no but you can get ur makeup done free at make counter o b day!!! vvvv

  57. tinaaki

too many collections in such a short time!! Oh my dear wallet!!!! LOL

  58. tinaaki

i wish i could afford to buy every single item i wanted to buy from mac :( I disacovered mac a year ago and i am very impressed!! i love their products but i cannot to buy every single product i want. U are very lucky Christine that u afford all this stuff :(

  59. Sophie

yay – happy – lady at the MAC counter said these come out on monday (for australia) hopefully will be working non-stop between now and then to help money-wise!!

  60. Erika

Why does MAC come out with collections back to back? They have three collections out right now, and in my opinion, the best part of the MAC site is not just the gorgeous make up, but the Artistry section with MAC Looks. Why don’t they have any looks, except for the Viva Glam, which are really old! If us MAC divas want to look our best, we need looks that we can refer to everyday. If MAC is going to raid my pocketbook, fine, glad to pay for the best, but give me some advice! The nearest MAC store is 90 minutes away, and Macys and Nordstrom folks aren’t as good…. My two cents.

  61. Carol

does anyone know when this collection is going to end? D:

Not diggin’ on this collection, looks too “Mardi Gras”.
