MAC Jeanius Lipsticks: Acid Washed, Pretty Please, Riveting Rose
MAC Jeanius: Lipsticks
MAC Jeanius Lipsticks ($14.50 for 0.10 oz.) come in three shades: Acid Washed (grayish beige with gold pearl), Pretty, Please (pale pink pearl), and Riveting Rose (deep burgundy with blue pearl).
- Acid Washed is more shimmer than it is color; the base seems nearly clear to me, while it has pale white and gold-tinged white shimmer, plus a slight pink iridescence. It has a glaze finish. It is similar to Tanarama, just less beige.
- Pretty, Please is a frosted pale pink with white shimmer that goes on semi-sheer. It has a lustre finish, and it is part of the permanent range.
- Riveting Rose is a rich red-berry with purple and plum frost. It has a frost finish. It’s similar to Hang Up, but it is more berry (less red).
my thoughts on the formula: MAC Lipsticks are vanilla-scented but taste-free. I typically get four hours of wear, but some of the lighter lustre and glaze finishes tend to disappear by hour three. Amplified cremes and amplified finishes, however, tend to go beyond four. I find the formula, overall, comfortable to wear and not drying (but not moisturizing–a couple of the matte shades can be drying).

final thoughts: If you like layering lip products, you may find both Acid Washed and Pretty, Please fun shades to work with. Acid Washed more so than Pretty, Please, have clearer bases and lots of shimmer. They’re both true to their formula (sheer, shimmery), so you can’t fault them for that.

I find this collection to be a disappointment. I checked it out at mu local MAC counter and really didn't care for it at all. Nothing really had that "wow" factor, IMO.

I NEED Riveting Rose! I don't think I have anything like it in my collection. It seems like an amazing way to get in on the purple lip trend without it looking crazy.
I JUST got back from going to my MAC store and I picked up Pretty Please since I had my 6 Back-To-Mac items. It wasn't what I was expecting, the swatch looked much prettier on my hand than on my lips, however I like it layered over my Blankety lipstick. Too bad it's non-refundable, but oh well. And btw, the MAC chick didn't seem too pleased to be taking my backtomac items, I had 2 bottles of brush cleanser and 4 eyeshadow pots. She said next time the pots need the sticker on the bottom and was saying how there's lots of fake MAC around. I told her I know and that's why I always buy my stuff either from MAC online or at their store - I even had my stuff in a MAC bag! She was examining my eyeshadow pots for like a solid few minutes. Ugh.
That happens to me too Traci, and I live in NZ. Every time I go in with my 6 items, they act like it's such an inconvenience! I know it's only because they're not technically getting a sale, but it's so damn rude. I am loving the look of Riveting Rose! I think I'll have to check it against my skin tone first though.

I'm not too intrigued, but Riveting Rose might be kind of pretty. It looks different from other berry colors I own, so I'll at least try it on.

wow is it just me or 2 of the lipsticks have no color to them?? i had my eye on "pretty please" until i read 'permanent" and then "never mind" when i saw the swatch.. but that deep purple is very pretty.. i wonder if they have an eyeshadow that shade

Riveting Rose is kinda sorta... amazing! i'm a sucker for deep berries. the other 2 are actually quite pretty on the lips. from the swatches i thought they wouldn't show up at all.
