On February 25th, MAC will launch its newest Viva Glam campaign called, “From Our Lips,” which will feature Viva Glam Gaga Lipstick and Viva Glam Cyndi Lipstick. Both Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper are the newest confirmed faces of MAC’s AIDS Fund.
U.S. Launch Date: March 18th, 2010
International Launch Date: March 2010
Time to wham up the GLAM in VIVA VIVA GLAM !…and celebrate the indestructible idea that ALL girls (and boys) just wanna have fun! It’s a gaga-glamorous look at our abiding passion: The M·A·C AIDS Fund and the VIVA GLAM program are the heart and soul of M·A·C Cosmetics.
Established in 1994 to support men, women and children affected by HIV and AIDS globally, VIVA GLAM I, II, III, IV, V and VI were launched as continuous shades and have achieved tremendously gratifying success over the years. Spring 2010 sees two new Lipstick shades introduced as limited life for 12 months on counter. Ladies and gentlemen, we give you the sensational Cyndi Lauper and the electric Lady Gaga!

I was beyond excited to hear that they were doing a VIVA GLAM campaign together! I hope that the colors end up being just as FIERCE as the two of them!

I’m a big fan of pinks, but that color Cyndi is wearing is what intrigues me the most. Yum! I’ve never been a big fan of Viva Glam colors (although I’ve bought and tried a few) but these look promising!

and for all of the ppl saying that lady gaga was a bad choice, i think both of these people are PERFECT for this. lady gaga attracts a younger crowd, who would generally like the pink lipstick more and cyndi lauper attracts an older crowd, who would prbly like the red lipstick more than the pink

I’ve been such a fan of Cyndi Lauper since the mid-80s. I emulated her makeup then, and can see I’ll be imitating her once again! I actually had the pleasure to meet Ms. Lauper when I worked at a TV station in Philly. Her autograph on my post-it note looks exactly like her autograph on your MAC image! Guess she signs everything in the same way!
Lustres? I was really pulling for Amplifieds. Oh well.

I really like Lady Gaga but her shade sounds and looks all wrong for my skin type. Cyndi’s is a different story, luckily. I just adore this promo pic! Great cause!

I have the Viva Glam I lipstick which I wear with the Mahogany lip pencil because I don’t look good in true pillar box reds, clean blue reds or orange reds, and I have two Viva Glam V lipsticks because I bought one by accident because I didn’t realize I already had one. *slapped my forehead* But the VG V lipsticks look great on me; very universal looking.
The VG Cyndi sounds nice because it doesn’t sound like a pillar box red and it should be sheer if it’s a Lustre. I’d love to look at the Gaga lipstick also but I bought a similar sounding color called Lickable, a Cremesheen, and my Mom hated it on me & of course she just HAD to tell me how much she hated it. But at least it’s a Lustre. But as usual w/ MAC I’ll try before I even buy.

I hope it’s nothing like St. Germain because that’s like Satin or Matte or something, but at least it’s a Lustre thank Heavens! And a Lustre or Glaze makes that kind of color more wearable.

If you look at Gaga’s pictures from high school, you would know she dressed like the majority of people. She followed the crowd. This change only happened about 2 years ago. Therefore, I don’t see how this is her “own style that she’s had her whole life, inspired by her personality”. Now THAT is bull. Also, if you read Seventeen magazine, there is a quote by gaga saying that she often copies Victoria Asher (ie the lightning bolt on her face).

I saw Lady Gaga perform on television sometime within the last week and her lipstick was gorgeous. Sort of a pink, mauvey darker “Lavender Whip” was the the first thing I thought of, identical to the photo shown here on Temptalia.
Do I stand behind Lady Gaga’s choices as an artist? Heavens no! But what person can’t get behind a donation to an AIDS fund and leave with a beautiful lipstick to boot?

Yes, the shades will be on-counter for twelve months, but then pulled after that!

Oh man. MAC what the hell? So many collections so little money. Can’t you please lower your prices for us that are being hit hard by the economy?? Pretty please. Anyhoot, loving both lippies. I had hoped for a more purpley color for Gaga and a amplified creme or something richer than lustre. Lustres don’t work on my lips & they dry them. That will not stop me from buying both of these lippies though.
Yeah MAC needs to come out with a collection of make up sold in the drugstores, but still made by them, and they should call it CHAC.
I love Gaga Im her biggest fan she such a fierce fashion icon …. shes like nothing i have ever seen… shes so unique and that draws me to her so much .
i love the GAGA one. Personally i dont care about the artists, its the actual makeup that counts. But regardless i am a big Gaga fan and the colour is gorgeous. Cyndi one is a bit too bright and grown up for me tbh, not a fan of red lipsticks. Pink, more my thing (:

My MAC SA showed me these lipsticks and Gaga’s sorta looks like Snob and Lauper’s is almost a berry shade. Since they are lustre’s they are so soft! Lady Gaga’s eyebrows in the picture above are actually pink the makeup artist used a lipstick!
As long as the Gaga one isn’t excatly like Snob and with the same opacity. I’d prefer a very sheer-looking Snob!

It’s actually very strange dealing with MAC sometimes. My local store is putting these out on the 10th of February (they’re in a Macy’s).
I called MAC on-line and they had no idea when they would launch. They also said there is NO number to call to get a solid launch date (they are just told when they could sell them).
I also called 4 other stores (2 counters, one freestanding and one Pro). The two counters I called (one Macy’s and one Nordstrom) said the 11th. The freestanding store I called said they didn’t know but thought it might be next week, and the Pro store I called originally said the 11th – But when I pressed they asked a manager and then told me the 10th.
So the “official” word that I’m hearing… Is that there is no official word. LOL!
I’ve heard it’s the 10th, because they’ll be on either the Today Show or the Morning Show (I don’t remember, one of the two… something like it?) promoting it, so they moved up the launch date.

I have to say that Cyndi is in great shape in this pic where she’s only wearing lingerie. I don’t know if they retouched her or what, and she doesn’t look wrinkly but at the same time Cyndi doesn’t look like she ‘had work done’ either. That’s good.

There’s nothing wrong with Gay people. Jesus said in Matthew that there are people born Gay, and they should accept it. Also, Jonathan and King David were very romantic together and kissed and King David said his love of Jonathan (who gave up the kingship to David against his Dad’s wishes) exceeded “that of my love of women”. See their story in the Old Testament in Samuel.
Consummerism at it’s best. This is what it takes now to get the public attention and their dollars. M.A.C has always used too much unnecessary packaging for me to even consider buying it.
I don’t really like Lady Gaga. I think that her music is bad and that her clothing choices aren’t the greatest, but I respect her because she doesn’t care. She does what she thinks is right which is why I think that MAC chose her, she is there as a spokesperson. She’s controversial of course, but who isn’t? We can just hope and pray that they don’t pick Miley Cyrus next. I love the lipstick though. It’s a beautiful color that is just the prettiest pink. I think that it looks great on so many people.
