Lipglass: Spree, Fancy Cat
MAC Fabulous Felines: Burmese Beauty Review, Photos, Swatches (Lips & Cheek)
Be sure to check out part one if you’re looking for the eyeshadow quad, eyeliners, and pigments that go along with this part of the collection.
Lipglass ($14.50 U.S. / $17.50 CDN)
- Fancy Cat is a darkened brown with a slight plum edge and multi-colored shimmer, though predominantly yellowed gold. It has a semi-opaque look on lips; may look splotchy when worn alone. It’s a little similar to Chai lipglass, but I’d say the shimmer is what differentiates the two.
- Spree is a darkened champagne-coral with lots of frosty shimmer. It’s nearly opaque on lips.
- Jealous is a sheer green-tinged base with white, green-gold, and pale gold shimmer. Better for layering than worn alone, since it tends to just look like clear gloss with shimmer by itself. It’s much cooler and paler than Springbean lustreglass.
Lipstick ($14.50 U.S. / $17.50 CDN)
- Kittenish is a darkened red with subtle ruby shimmer with a cremesheen finish. It’s opaque, and it’s rather slippery and glaze-like for a cremesheen. If you typically find cremesheens drying and often skip the formula, you may want to give Kittenish the once-over. It feels like a lighter version of Media (permanent).
- Liquid Lurex is a multi-colored, slightly yellowed gray glittered dazzle finish lipstick–was also recently released with Digi-Pops. This is a shade better layered than worn alone.
- Pet Me Please is a pale mauve with a high frost finish. If you are not a fan of shimmery or frosty lips, definitely skip this one. It is one of the frostier lipsticks I’ve seen released lately. It is opaque, though. It’s a bit similar to Pervette, but it’s a lot frostier, more opaque, and pinker.
- To Pamper is a semi-opaque taupe nude with a lustre finish. For a lustre, it’s surprisingly pigmented, but it has that glossy, slightly sheered out look, too. This is very nude, and on me, not so flattering as it blends in with my skin tone. It reminded me of Call My Bluff (In the Groove) as well as Shitaki (permanent).
Mineralize Blush ($21.00 U.S. / $25.00 CDN)
- The Soft Meow is a muted medium tan brown. It’s not warm, it’s not cool–it’s very neutral. It’s more of a bronzing shade than a contouring color. Personally, it seemed a little dirty on my skin tone, though–perhaps because it lacks warmth, so on my warmer skin tone, it doesn’t look so hot.

Hi Christine, I just purchased Kittenish and I was wondering if it's really similar to Dark Deed from the upcoming Venemous Villains collection? You compared both of them to Media...would you say that if you get one, you may not want to get the other? Which one is more wearable? I'm about a 140 in MUFE HD foundation. I keep on switching back and forth between your swatches!! lol
For about the 5th time, my comment has disappeared/been deleted, after seeing that they have definitely gone through. Asking since Aug. 25th. (3 weeks+!) Any lipsticks out there like "Pet Me, Please" & "Aristo-Cat" without the frost???
Hi Teresa, All your comments have gone into spam because you are reposting the same thing multiple times. That is how our spam filter works - if it sees duplicate comments, it marks them as spam and moves them into spam. This is why we urge everyone to be patient, because submitting the same comment multiple times results in both comments being removed! Try Blankety and Plumful, though neither are that similar since the frost is what makes the color of both of those lipsticks.
Thanks Christine! None of my comments were ever worded the same, but very different. I will take a look at all four colours and compare. Thanks again!!
Christine, the "Kittenish" I purchased is more brown on me that a darkened red. Do you think there is something wrong with the formula of mine, or do you think it's just the way kittenish looks on me. I'm NW15-NW20, so I don't know if it's just my coloring that makes it look more brown than red. Should I exchange it for another one?
That is really weird, but it may be your coloring, though I wouldn't think it'd pull brown. You could try swatching it against the tester and seeing if they swatch the same.
Thanks! I'll swatch it against the tester. I thought it was weird as well, especially since I don't see any hint of red in it at all.
Hi Christine, Did you post the photo for Spree for Fancy Cat? I am tempted by fancy cat, but I love to see your pics before I buy. Thanks!
Christine, thanks for these swatches :) I like "Kittenish" lipstick ... Do you think it would work on my deeper/warm skin tone? I'm around NW 45/50
Ooh, Jealous and Wildly Refined are pretty. Had to get the green Lipglass, since I love Springbean so much.
Heyy Christine... which lipglass would look better over a nude lip, the blue or green? Also I heard that they make your teeth look whiter, is that true?
It's funny how everyone has such different tastes... you said you didn't think To Pamper was flattering on you but I sooooo disagree! I love it on you it's beautiful! I ordered two and its all your fault hahahaha :)
omg I'm looking forward to the review of Jealous lipglass. I have been lemming that since the promo pictures came out, hope it's just as pretty as my Spring Bean lustreglass
Which has more colour payoff in your opinion: Call My Bluff or To Pamper? Trying to decide which to get - they look so similar!
Oh good! :) how is the texture of pet me please? Frosts can be drying sometimes. Is it drying or is it pretty smooth? Thanks again :)
I don't have it to do a direct comparison, but from previous swatches, it does seem similar - maybe a bit pinker.
Kittenish looks gorgeous! Now I'm happy I have a ton of Back to MAC from depotting. :D (Er, I'm assuming they'd let me Back to MAC for this collection?)
For some reason, I'm really drawn to The Soft Meow. I love Mineralize Blushes and I've never seen one that shade. Love the name, too. :)
I actually think To Pamper looks good on you and would be especially good with a strong smokey eye. Nothing in this group really appeals to me for myself, though (I'm very cool-toned and warm colours just make me look tired!)
aww! pet me please is SO cute! love it :) i'm definitely cecking out the lipglasses from this whole collection - i used to hate them you know - then you talked me into giving them a second chance and now i'm kind of obsessesed! haha :) btw thanks for doing the blush swatches the way you do now - so helpful to see them on the cheecks - i know it adds to the time it takes to do the post but it's much appreciated! :)
