Black ore is the best…totally neat and great smokey glimmer eye!
The Sunpower is pretty awesome as well.

They are long lasting as well, but I use paint or fluidliner under any pigment to help them stay.

No real clue, I included the official description of them… but they’re brand new!

Depending on what it is, Black Ore has my interest.

So what exactly are these Solar Bits? Sound like a pigment, but is it for your eyes? I can’t imagine wearing the black one anywhere else. The rest maybe as highlighters or for the eyes, very interesting!

Comment by Christine

I think they’re for your eyes, Ariele, but not sure!

Look at the model’s eyes! That is probably the Solar Bits. Just a different packaging for pigments? Different formula probably?

very cool :) I really like the orange…so fun and different…makes me in the mood for summer…reminds me of being on vacation somewhere tropical and warm, with a drink that has one of those little umbrella in it. Deep sigh. Anyways I dont think a lot of the actual colors from this line will suit me but I sure am curious to see it and the Solar Bits sure sounds interesting…cant wait to hear more details.

Could it be a product like Lorac Glam Rocks? That’s a much creamier, clumpier powder than your average pigment. They’re pretty hard to work with, but man! The payoff is amazing.

Comment by Christine
2008-04-03 10:34:09

That’s what people keep saying! I hope they’re easier to work with if they’re alike!

I hope they move up the release date (as MAC so often does), since I´m in NYC from MAY 21 to 25. Oh please, please…

Well, Nell… if you are NYC, they will probably have the May 29th stuff out already anyway, since the NYC PRO store usually has stuff out a week early!

My guess for the solar bits is a new highly pigmented paint pot. The packaging looks glass and are small like the paint pots but have the description more like a pigment. They are also the same price as a pigment. I agree that the model is probably wearing the Black Ore solar bits on her eyes. I’m curious to see what is in the pot, hopefully something will come to light soon.

I have always loved the bronzer look when it comes out in photos but how do you get that look without looking darker? What would be a good shade?

Comment by Christine
2008-04-23 14:28:36

Hi Kukuroshu! You have to choose something that’s only a shade or two darker than your natural skintone… if you go too dark, that’s when it looks very dark. Also, shimmer may be helpful in reflecting light, too.

Christine, any more word on what those Solar Bits actually are? Are they like Meteorites? That’s the speculation I’ve heard, but it doesn’t look like that to me, honestly.

Comment by Christine
2008-04-23 15:05:05

They’re actually color to go all over your face (!), and I guess they’re sheerer than they look. They’re similar to pigments, maybe gritter… not like Meteorites…

I am so excited for this new collections!!! I didn’t get too much of the NN because I felt it wasn’t meant for my medium dark skin…just me. Anyway this warm colors are beautiful, I just called my fav MA at my counter at Nordstrom and she said that the Solar Bits are BEAUTIFUL! she said that they are like pigments but they go on more smooth and they are more pigmented and metallic, she said they have never had something like it! She also told me that the Volcanic Thermal mask is AMAZING, it leaves the skin sooooo soft. Keep saving girls, oh..call your counter because a lot of them (like mine) are launching the new stuff on the 21, YOU WANT TO GET YOUR HANDS ON THIS STUFF, TRUST ME!!!!!
