Focus On: MAC 210 Precise Eye Liner Brush
MAC 210 Precise Eye Liner Brush ($17.50) is an extremely fine-tipped liner brush. It’s kind of like an ultra thin pen tip. It has some give, but overall, it’s fairly firm and stiff, which helps add to the level of control you have over your application. This is my preferred brush for liquid liners, as well as when I want an extremely precise line. I’ve found that if you’ve suffered any skipping issues with angled brushes, this one solves those issues. I also like that the entire length of the brush (which is probably about 10mm or less) is the same width/circumference, which means you can slant it horizontally to line, too, and your line will look the same all the way across. This is a solid brush worth the investment–if you frequently use liquid or cream/gel liners, that is!
How do you like to use this brush?

Hey Christine! I love your reviews. Which brush do you prefer for dramatic winged gel liner? 209, 210, an angled brush, or something else? Thanks! :)
I use an angled brush to line my upper lashline then I use the 209 to wing the end. I love using the 209 for winged or cat eyeliner because it's firm enough to control the wing yet soft enough to give that sweep.
My fave eyeliner brush by far. It gives a nice thin line that you can build up where the 209 can be a bit thicker.
Yay this was my first MAC brush :) It was definitely well worth it because I normally go from thin to thick when I line my eyes. It gives the perfect line!
how do you feel about this for fluidlines? i tried that sonia kashuk bent eyeliner brush and didn't like it. i use a 263 or 266 type brush now, but feel like it's giving me too thick a line.
OMG I love love love this brush!!! It is by far the best eyeliner brush I have ever used...I have tried a bazillion other brushes to put on liner with and this is the only one that does a major fab job!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE it
I don't have this brush but I have Sonia Kashuk's Liner brush. The one that is bent at an angle at the base of the handle. It has the equivalent brush type to the 210 & I am very happy with it. I use it for applying my Blacktrack fluidline & it makes it easy to look like i know what I'm doing. HA :)!!
I dont tend to buy eyeliner brushes that aren't slanted (I have long lashes that curl {read: gift and curse})so this one may not be for me. When MAC comes out with a slanted eyeliner brush, I'll buy 5!! Sidenote--really looking forward to the MAC 130 Duofiber brush
I really need to get an eyeliner brush, does anyone know how this one (or the 209) compares to the Bobbi Brown ultra fine eyeliner brush ? TIA!
I used to have the Bobbi Brown brush but it really didn't give me that much control, it fluffed out after a couple of washes and wasn't giving me a precise enough line. The 209 on the other hand is perfect in my opinion for applying liquid or gel eyeliners. Even wet shadows as liner. I haven't tried it on dry shadow, though. The 209 has a finer tip so it gives you so much more control as well. Hope that helps!
I have BB ultra fine liner brush and love it. It is completely different from #209 or #210 though. It is more than a year old and still in a perfect shape. I use BB liner for Fluidline all the time. But if you want to do the cateye liner, then #209 or #210 is better.
I much prefer to use the 209 -- I have this one too but it is a bit wobbly for my taste plus the bristles are kind of messy leaving behind little streaks..lol. Not a great brush, imo.
Doesn't look firm as #209 though. I have no way of checking it out, as MAC Australia does not sell this anymore :(
