L'Oreal New Money Colour Riche Nail Lacquer
L’Oreal New Money Colour Riche Nail Lacquer

L’Oreal New Money Colour Riche Nail Lacquer ($5.99 for 0.39 fl. oz.) is a creamy chartreuse–a mix of yellow and green–that’s bright and bold but not quite neon. China Glaze Def Defying is slightly darker. Sinful Colors Innocent is a touch yellower. NYX Lime is shimmery. China Glaze Electric Pineapple is very similar in color. Illamasqua Radium is similar but slightly greener, and it has shimmer.

Released for spring, this shade is very appropriate for the current season, but it holds plenty of brightness that it seems just as (if not more) appropriate for summer. Though it’s bright, it doesn’t turn neon, so the formula doesn’t act like a neon, either; it dries to a glossy shine. In two coats, New Money was fully opaque, and the formula was easy to work with. The consistency wasn’t too thick or too thin, and I didn’t have any trouble with bubbling, streaking, or the lacquer pooling along the edges of the nail. I typically get a full week of wear with very minor tip wear with L’Oreal’s Colour Riche formula.

Love this on your fingers, Christine! It just pops. ;)

  2. I am in love with this color! I would paint the walls of my house in this shade :-) Well, or maybe just one. But I love it!

I have this one, I love it, it’s a great pop of color! For some reason, in these photos the color looks less pastel than when I wear it!

How does OPI’s “Who The Shrek Are You” compare? This one seems brighter and more yellow?

  7. Great colour, it really catches my attention!

Love the colour! I don’t think this will ever come to the Netherlands ):

So nice! Reminds me of ‘Did It On ‘Em’ in the OPI Nicki Minaj collection a year or so ago :)

Chartreuse is my very favorite color, so I’ve been eyeing this (as well as a couple of others from the spring release) at work. They’ve been on sale quite a lot, I think I’ll get them… as if I need anymore nail polish. XP

    • LOL! I’ve really had to put myself on a polish-buying-freeze. I have no hope of getting through what I have, and I really need to make a dent! in it before buying more!

I have thought that L’Oreal polishes are in general very underrated. Most are very good :) Thanks for review. Need to hunt this one down!

  12. LOve this! L’Oreal has some really good polishes out these days. Maybelline too! :D

  13. Haha I like the name and the color, though I wouldn’t wear it personally

  14. I want this shade… and your A+ rating make it further tempting

  15. cel

Okay, I NEED this color, well not really, but I love these chartreuse polishes, I already have 2 but I still really want this one.

  16. This feels like such a “you” shade to me, Christine! :) I love how unexpected (not to mention, pigmented) this chartreuse is — it really stands out!

  17. Kat

I like this; it reminds me of my cat’s beautiful chartreuse eyes.

  18. Paige

I love the color, but for some reason, L’Oreal nail polishes always always always flake of of my nails within 2 days of application. It doesn’t matter what base or top coat I use :-(

  19. Dimsixx

I went and got this polish after your excellent review. The pigmentation was great, but the wear was HORRIBLE. It lasted less than 15 hours (8 of it while sleeping) before it started cracking &chipping! (With base + coat) Just wondering if you test the wear time on nail polishes before you do a full review? Thanks.

    • I usually test between 2-3 shades before I write a review on a new formula, and then I test additional shades from that point forward, but I do not test the wear of every polish since then I could only review about 50 shades a year. L’Oreal’s formula wears fantastically on me – one of the longer wearing polish formulas! I’m sorry to hear you had such a bad experience!
