Look: Going Green with Greengrease

You know I had to dig into the new MAC products… at least to get going… for a look! Happy Monday!

P.S. — Santal looks a little pinker on me today than it does usually, because I still had a bit of a CoverGirl lip stain lingering when I put it on!

P.P.S. — Can you believe I actually forgot to apply a highlighter? FOR SHAME!

You will need the following…

For eyes, start by applying Soft Ochre paint pot as your eyeshadow base all over the eye area with the 249. Apply Greengrease greasepaint stick on the outer half of the lid, blending out with the 217. Using the 239, apply Bright Sunshine eyeshadow on the inner third of the eyelid. Next, apply Lucky Green eyeshadow on the middle third of the eyelid and lightly blend with the inner corner. Darken the outer third of the lid with Bio Green eyeshadow with the 239, gently brushing it into the lower crease. Lightly blend Atmosphere eyeshadow, with the 239, on the outer corner and lid. Add depth to the crease by applying Bottle Green eyeshadow with the 226 into the outer crease. Lightly tap and brush Bright Sunshine eyeshadow directly above the crease to soften. To finish the eyeshadow look, sweep Femme-fi eyeshadow as a highlighter on the brow bone. Bring everything together by applying Black Line eyeliner on the lower lash line and Lucky Green eyeshadow lightly patted below the lower lash line with the 219 brush. Finish by sweeping lashes with Plushlash mascara.

For cheeks, apply Sugarbomb blush to the apples of the cheeks and sweep upwards towards the temple with the 116.

For lips, apply Santal Rouge Allure Laque for a complementing lip.

  1. Greengrease is such a pretty colour, I am excited for these greasepaint sticks to come out! Love all the greens in this look, and that lip colour is great as well. :)

You look yummy!! :D If you did not mention about the highlighter, I wouldn’t have noticed… but since you mentioned it.. LOL. Are you liking Greasepaint Stick? It looks dark!

    • Christine says:

I had to mention it because it’s such an EPIC blunder, LOL! It’s like, “How can you forget the highlighter?!?!”

I like it, but I just think having 8 Greasepaint Sticks is a little overkill, since they all kind of look the same at the end of the day, lol! You could get a more neutral one like Zinc Zone, which would take on any color you put over it, and be done.

      • Natalie says:

I have Below ground, Zinc Zone, Dirty and Charred Mauve on my list. I need to trim it down a bit, because I have all the paint pots except Stray Grey and they (as well as Shadesticks grr) just sit there. Zinc Zone is way too pretty to pass, I think :D

  3. Natalie says:

BTW, I am loving the Facebook updates ;)

  4. Anitacska says:

Very pretty. But am I thinking correctly that this look could have easily been done without the Greasepaint stick? I’m sure you’ve done something very similar before. (Just trying to work out how essential these sticks are really.)

    • Christine says:

      Oh, yes, definitely ;)

You could get by with Emerald Green pigment or Deep Blue Green. Or just pack a little more dark green on top.

      • Anitacska says:

That’s what I was thinking. I just don’t see the need for a greasepaint stick. Although that Charred Mauve is still calling my name, but I will see it in person before I decide. Thanks Christine!

  5. ashleigh says:

you have such a lovely pattern in your eye!

  6. Chiara says:

Another beautiful green look from you!

  7. Emm says:

Sugarbomb, though a blush has a lot of shimmer so it’s not as necessary to use a highlighter.

  8. Diana says:

I love this look on you the green and yellows are so appropriate for the season and the lips are to die for.

  9. Aubree says:

    you will not make me buy greengrease! nah uh! >=| but this is too gorgeous for words! ;_;

  10. Sum says:

wowwww amazing! and im loving the santal rouge allure laquer…need to buy it :)

  11. Faiza says:

Love the look Christine, Shantal looks great on you! Do you know when/if the 226 will be re-promoted?

  12. Andrea says:

Lovely!!! Santal looks great with that little bit of pink underneath :)

    Your top is gorgeous too!!

  13. Miss QQ says:

Gorgeous, Christine! I love this look!

  14. daphne says:

Uh oh! Better get Nylon out STAT! ;) Love this look – you’ve done some variations on it but it never fails. Just got Santal myself…it’s a little nude on me but I love seeing it pinker here. Maybe I will start using it over Posietint or my Stila Pomegranate Crush! I’ve been trying to figure out how to add more color to it without using a gloss over, as all the glosses I have are of a consistency that would overpower Santal.

  15. Adriana says:

omg! i really love this look! green goes good with you
i think, is one of the best color for your hazel eyes

  16. Alexis says:

I love this look and so happy you used Greengrease stick. It’s on my shopping list. Also, I needed more ideas for Bottle Green e/s. I love it but I need to use it more – I guess I’m just afraid of the darkness of it.

  17. Farida says:

OMG, I love this look on you. I love green and I think this look is so nice. I can’t wait to try this. THX!!

  18. Laura says:

Do you prefer the Covergirl stain or the MAC one? It’s hard to get hold of Covergirl in the UK and MAC packaging is prettier but I’m still undecided on whether to get 1 or 4 next week!

    • Christine says:

Oooh, birthday is coming up! Just another month and a few days more.

I usually pick tops based on the color – I like to match or complement, but usually match!
      Thank you!! :)

  20. MakeupGalore--Abbie says:

I knew I liked the greengrease.!! Lip looks good too. Have a great afternoon.

  21. Dianna says:

Haha I totally noticed the lack of a highlight :P It’s okay, I love the look anyway (let’s pretend that doesn’t rhyme).

How come you rarely apply eyeliner on your upper lashline? On me, I feel like a look is incomplete without it… but I tend to forego mascara so I guess it all comes down to personal preference.

    • Christine says:

It causes my eyes to swell up and itch, that’s why :) I’ve gone so long without it, I’m also used to it and like it that way, too, but it’s really because wearing liner on my upper lash line tends to irritate that area that I don’t. If you see me use it in any look, that means I apply it, take photos, and then remove it right after!

      • Dianna says:

That’s no fun :( It doesn’t really matter in most cases cuz your eyeshadow speaks for itself but how do you do pin-up/cat-eye looks?

        • Christine says:

I don’t, unless it’s to take photos and then remove :)

Personally, my eyes are so itchy/swollen for 1-2 days after that it’s not worth the hassle! I can do without :)

  22. Michelle says:

I LOVE this look!!!! I am actually really excited about the release of these Greasepaint Sticks because I really like them as a base… And the pearlglides too as I am always happy with those. I don’t usually wear greens, but I am def. going to try this one out! So perfect for spring!

  23. Lindsay says:

Greens always look so pretty on you.

  24. Tavia says:

Beautiful beautiful, very beautiful. I see some yellow shades in your makeup so I see that is not such a hard color for you to handle. I’m a disaster with blue and green eyeshadows. You always make it look so easy to pull it of. How much time it took you to finish this makeup? :)

  25. Great look! I love greens! And lips are also so lovely!

  26. amy says:

Ohhh I really want Santal now! Please I really like the turquoise/aqua colour tank you have.

  27. Phyrra says:

This might be my favorite look that I’ve seen on you in a while! I like the greens, especially the outer lid shade.

  28. Rosie says:

I always love your green looks.

  29. Melissa says:

    LOVE that bottle green
