I just got it. LOVE. The few times I wore it I was just doing a very quick and simple look: Pewter over the lid, Shroom as a highlight, and a tiny bit of Scene in the outer edge of the crease to define the look. UD Corrupt made a nice lower liner color, but black would be good, too :)

    Hey Christine/Daphne/whomever ;)

How would you compare Pewter to say MAC smoke and diamonds or sweet sienna pigment? I love those colors and consider them somewhere btw taupe/pewter/silver…..

I’m considering getting pewter, but wanted to make sure they weren’t too close to those others :)

Well Lexi, I don’t have Smoke and Diamonds so I can’t really tell you about that. I do have a sample of Sweet Sienna though. Pewter is a much smoother texture than Sweet Sienna, which I find a little bit flaky/glittery (just a little bit though). It’s also slightly lighter in color and warmer in tone overall, much more of a golden/bronzey sheen. It is similar, but I find it more versatile and slightly more everyday-friendly.

Okay, I was just going from memory there but I just reswatched them to check. Correction: Pewter is a LOT lighter in color than Sweet Sienna. Very different and with much more of a metallic sheen. They’d work very well together but they are not dupes by any means.

It is a lovely color…i just haven’t figured out how to wear it yet! I just bought it this past weekend and tried it out for work this week. I paired it with a bit of satin taupe on the outer edge and in the crease and a bit of Cargo brown liner. I will still have to do some experimenting with this one so I’m looking forward to seeing some suggestions.

I am so glad that I picked up this color. Need more time to play with it, but I tried the following and it turned out lovely…

    Base: MAC Paintpot in Constructivist
Inner 1/3rd (or 2/3rds): Bobbi Brown Pewter
Outer 2/3rds (or 1/3rd): NARS Ondine
    Outer V: MAC Sketch
    Above crease: MAC Mulch
Highlight: whatever doesn’t shimmer (I used a beige Annabelle shadow)
Black eyeliner and mascara… Ta da! Pretty.

I bought 2 Pewters, I love it so much. I just wear it as a wash with Graphblack Technakohl liner & some black mascara & bam! Out the door…

Smoke & Diamonds is much darker. I tried Pewter on lid and S&D on crease, nice look though S&D really looked green. I’ve also tried Pewter in crease and BB Nude beach on lid, they were very similar. Need to play around more.
