I don't own alot of mattes either. I own a few because I think they help blend some colors together well and that they are useful for highlighting. It's funny that you say they amplify wrinkles because my mom is telling me to find her an entire eyeshadow palette of just matte neutrals and it's proving quite a challenge for me.
