Lipstick & Lipgloss Pic Spam, Vol. 1

I don’t know why, but for awhile, it seems like I have a bajillion lipsticks and glosses I want to share with you, but I feel a little odd reviewing more than one or two per day. I always think, “Nobody wants to see FIVE lipsticks in ONE day!” Some of these are getting a little “stale” and are on the verge of getting put in the “never going to review” folder, and thus, PIC SPAM!

  • Chanel Coral Reef (#88) Glossimer is a light peachy-pink base with lots of brightened gold-peach shimmer. Totally gorgeous, but I think this was limited edition. Probably from last summer’s collection. I believe I picked it out of my glossimers with the intention to include it in the Summer Season, but it’s hard to find, so it’s not appropriate for that series any more.
  • Bloom Sugar Lipstick is a sheer pale rose pink with subtle shimmer and a frosty finish.
  • Make Up For Ever #3 Glossy Full Couleur is a jelly tangerine-orange. On my lips, it doesn’t really do much. It gives them more of a coral look color-wise, but it does make them look rather juicy from the glossy finish and thick texture.
  • Tarina Tarantino Nouveau Lip Gloss is a blue-based medium-dark pink with a very glossy, jelly look. It has a very milky look, though it’s certainly not a milky pink by any means.
  • Too Faced Mood Swing Lip Gloss was just such a gimmicky product, I was loathe to review. They’re not a bad product, but the idea behind it was a little too much for me, personally. I also switched to including full face photos, so while I’ve meant to re-do some swatches, I just haven’t gotten around to it. And now they’re becoming stale!

I love the Channel and Bloom Sugar!

  2. Alyssa says:

Hi! The idea behind the Too Faced Mood Swing glosses is that they will adjust to your perfect shade with the warmth/heat of your lips. I noticed in the pic you posted of Pink Petal that it still looks whiteish. If you let it sit on your lips for a minute or so it will become the most beautiful shade of pink. Also, they are loaded with Shea Butter, Jojoba Seed Oil, and Vitamin E, so they are super moisturizing! :)

  3. shontay says:

  16. lisa says:

i think the too faced lip gloss is so awesome is the swatch of the one in the middle the pink shimmer cause it looks really pretty. is it has light as it seems.
do you know if the original changes shades too?

    thanks
    have a lovely day

  17. Bloom Sugar looks super pretty. It reminds me of Korres #22. I actually have one of the Too Faced lipglosses (original??? It was before they brought out other colors) and I really like it because it feels nice and I know I can trust it to look good. On me it’s quite a raspberry pink.

  18. Cheyenne says:

I’m just not a gloss kinda gal and the lipstick isn’t something I’m jumping around about. BUT I must say the Coral Reef is really pretty, it looks really pigmented, but is it stick or chunky?

  19. Kaylynrenee says:

Now this is my kinda spam!

  20. I absolutely LOVE the too faced emotionally activated gloss. I have the original, and the pink shimmer, the one that smells like blueberries.

  21. Mandy says:

Christine! Random question: Show Orchid, Girl About Town, or BOTH?

  22. Brittany says:

I like the Chanel Coral Reef color:-)

  23. Helena says:

I’d want the Chanel if its color–peachy, golden pink–wasn’t already covered in the Spring Season series, with Nymphette, #2, et al., ha ha.

  24. Natalie says:

Gahh I want that Coral Reef glossimer! It’s too pretty! Do you happen to know of any similar glosses?

  25. Openexpression says:

Coral Reef is my favorite gloss ever! I soooo didn’t know it was LE :( Now I have to track more down…I wear that thing at least 4 times a week!

  26. Rosie says:

I love my Mood Swing lipgloss. Yes, I see the gimmick and I figured if I walked around with a half naked guy in my purse (Pocket Rocket David) then I’d be okay with my “sexual urges” on display. Not that I feel the color changing works but the color of the one I have, I have the purple tube one from plum to perfect pink and with a fushia lipliner it turns so vibrant and bold. I love it and how it smells!

    • Christine says:

Yeah, the UD Pocket Rockets rub me the same way – gimmicky! I like beauty marketing, but then there’s a fine line between building a story and being gimmicky for me, and I just get a little annoyed when it goes too far on the other side :(

  27. Chrissy says:

    Coral reef looks amazing!

  28. Roxanne says:

    I love lipstick/lipgloss spam!!!
    :)

  29. Jenn says:

Thank you sooooo much for your post. I love the Chanel Coral Reef (#88) Glossimer. I was able to find it on ebay and purchase it! Yaaaaaay!! :-)

  30. Tessa says:

The Chanel one is really lovely. Too bad Chanel is a bit too expensive for me.
