I put together one large post of many lip combinations I’ve done in 2006 & 2007 along with what I used underneath photo. Hope it helps someone!

Ahhh! You’ve made me really want Wild ‘Bout You but I can’t find any on eBay and it must be DC’d because it’s not the website. How long ago did it come out? Any ideas where I can get one? I guess I could try an ISO over on LJ..

Hm, it came out maybe 6 months ago, Charlotte. You might want to try New York Apple in its place – Wild ‘Bout You is a bit more berry colored, but it is close! HTH

Hey girl ive been looking at you’re site for some time and never commented you about how amazing you truly are you help alot of people how are fans of mac cosmetics know and experiment the reality of makeup and creations. I love that you have the time and that you are willing to share with others what you’ve learned thank you so much. Also i love the lip combos post that you just posted god you help me im latina with huge lips and sometimes its so hard to find the right lipstick without having it look tacky on me. haha! Aww!! I never even knew it was limited or discontinued when I purchased it (which was not that long ago), so maybe if you have a MAC counter/store, ask them to check their stock for you.
So I officially love you. Thank you SO much. I had been wanting to buy some lipgloss and lipstick from MAC. I had in mind what I wanted the color to look like, I just didn’t know what to get to create that color, and now I do. The only problem is…I fell in love with ALOT of these. I just don’t have the money for them all, haha. But thanks again for the pictures. Oh, and not to sound creepy but, you have awesome lips, and teeth. =)

this is an awesome post! thank you! i was wondering if you know any similar perm substitutes for dainty cake & strawberry blonde? i loved these with every different gloss you used! they would definitely work best with my skin tone i think.
HEy Ariele! Dainty Cake is similar to Jest or CB96, maybe, but with more pink in it. Strawberry Blonde is similar to Sweetie lipstick, only a tough brighter.

It’s more of an orangy coral, and I can’t think of anything that’s all that close in the permanent line :/ Jest is, kind of, but it’s way shimmery compared to Curtsy.

You seem to have alot of lipglass in your collection. Is that your fav? What has the best stay power? Thanks!
Hey Sandy! Lipglass is tinted gloss that is sticky; plushglass is not really sticky and is supposed to plump up your pucker; and lustreglass is sheerer and less sticky compared to lipglass.
I love lipglass because I like my gloss to have decent color to it, not that sheer. I don’t mind sticky either!
do you have any thing that uses young spark? I’ve noticed that you dont use lipgelee do you not like it? i think its a great product try it some time, my favorite is lu-be-lu.

I’ve tried lipgelees, but I am not a huge fan. I like Lil’ Sizzler, but they’re not pigmented enough for me.
i want to pick out some lipsticks and lipglasses but i have to buy online because the nearest store is in the next state… are there any lipsticks and lipglasses you love/couldnt live without? it would be a big, big help since i cant test out the colors myself. they all look so good!

Hi, I just wanted to say that I LOVE your site and you are a life saver! I have always wondered how to create a really pale/nude pink lip color and never knew how to, with what products, until now. Specifically–the look you created with the Fun Fun lipstick and Luminary lustreglass. I think the Fun Fun shade’s been discontinued though, can you recommend another similar lipstick? Also, is it more of the lipstick or lustreglass that gives it that pale pink color?

Fun Fun is the one that gives it the pale pink color. MAC just released “The Originals” and Utter Pervette is kind of close to Fun Fun. Pervette and Snob might work, as well. Luminary doesn’t add too much color on its own.
PS. After looking through your Black Smokey Eye tutorial (liked the lips very much there)–do you think Luminary layered over Myth would produce a similar effect?
Myth is a bit more pink than pale pink-purple, but if you’d like it more pink than purple, then go for it

first of all your work is great.I got obsesed with it and with Mac make up. I like very neatural lipsticks.do you think I would go for a right choose if I buy: sparks can fly and lull lipglass,Curtsy lipstick,style it up lipstick and thrills lipstick?
And by the way could you pls suggest to me if it is not a trpuble for you.. which are the 3 most eyeshadow colours that are mostly used for both a blue look and a pink/vilet look.I got the gold/brown mac shadows and they are great.

Thank you so much! If you’re a big neutral lip fan, I think that Thrills would be the only one that you might find too bright, though I do love it. Sparks Can Fly is a great color, as it Curtsy and Style It Up!
For blue looks, I know I tend to reach for Freshwater, Deep Truth, and Flashtrack. For pink/violet looks, I love Stars ‘n Rockets, Da Bling, and Beautiful Iris.

im quite pale with dark hair and im looking for a pinky or coraly colour i can wear most days, preferbly a naturalish one.
