Le Metier de Beaute Chameleon Eyeshadow Review, Photos, Swatches

Saturday, July 23rd, 2011

Le Metier de Beaute Chameleon Eyeshadow

Le Metier de Beaute Chameleon Eyeshadow

Le Metier de Beaute Chameleon Eyeshadow ($30.00 for 0.13 oz.) is a lightened antique gold. I love the lightness of the color–a lot of antique golds tend to be murkier, almost green, but this still retains some of the sheen and brightness of gold while still having that antique appearance. Urban Decay Rush is much, much darker and browner, while Inglot #404 is much too gold. It seems like it would compare to long-ago limited edition shades like MAC Rye and Summer Neutral, but this still seems warmer, more golden.

The texture of Le Metier de Beaute eyeshadows is phenomenal–rich and buttery with a silky feel and smooth application. These eyeshadows can be used wet or dry, but generally, they work as well as wet as they do dry, which is nice, because it allows the user to decide on the application without sacrificing color payoff or texture. Chameleon has good color opacity, and the finish is a soft frost, which is emphasized when it is used wet.

Where to Buy: Nordstrom, $30

The Glossover

A

Cooler skin tones who find golds typically do not work for them may want to take a look at Chameleon, because its muted quality reduces its warmth and brightness--it's earthy and more neutral.

This may be worth the splurge. Just *discovered* the Metier counter at Neiman Marcus.

Love this gold. It's like nothing I have. It's almost on a matte level but enough spark to make it more than matte. It's a great shade and golds are one of my go to lid shades. Now, wondering where I might find this brand. Great review - love the ones that are like no others out there!

Some Nordstroms have LMdB stock in stores now, but for sure online at Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom. I believe you can sign up to be a member at LMdB's website and they even list your nearest store + a representative for the brand you can email! (I just did this last night, ha!)

LMdB has the smoothest eye shadows... you really get great quality for your $$

Glad to know this. Thanks. I rarely would spend $30 on 1 eyeshadow unless it was something I cannot live without and cannot dupe anywhere near close as I think is the case with this shade. I hate to order it by Nordies mail. But I do think they still include free shipping back if needed. Have to call and see if they carry this brand at the Nordies in Santa Barbara. I will be through that town in the close future. Love to try it first.

Hopefully they do - SB seems like a city that would have it!

For the name, I would have loved something duochrome/ multi-dimensional.

Was completely thinking the same thing!!

Beautiful. Do you know, by any chance, how this compare's to UD's Chains?
