Laura Mercier Canyon Sunset Cheek Melange

Laura Mercier Canyon Sunset Cheek Melange

Laura Mercier Canyon Sunset Cheek Melange ($40.00 for 0.22 oz.) is supposed to add a warm glow to the face “with sunset-inspired hues.” It’s a new product for fall, and it is limited edition.

There are three shades (a peony pink, ruddy brown, and peach) that come together to create a muted, browned pink with a satin sheen. In the photos, you’ll notice gold shimmer, but it’s an overspray, and much of the shimmer disappears after the first use. The product is not nearly as shimmery as it looks initially.

The texture is soft to the touch, and the powders smooths out evenly across the skin, which makes application easier. It has good color payoff from the get-go, but it can be layered for a slightly more intense look. While the silky texture is soft, the product sits on the skin well, so it doesn’t blend away too easily, and it wore for eight hours on me before beginning to fade.

The Glossover

Laura Mercier Canyon Sunset Cheek Melange Review, Photos, Swatches

It's a more neutral pink, which makes it easy to wear with many different looks. I liked how it was a neutral pink but not too brown or pale--it has enough color to work on deeper skin tones but can still be used with a lighter hand for everyday color on paler skin tones.

Product & Review FAQ

Where can I purchase Canyon Sunset? How much is it?

Nordstrom, $40.

Is it limited edition?

Any dupes?

MAC Plum Foolery is a little similar, but it's less pink and more plum, plus it has a frostier finish. NARS Oasis is similar, too, but it is also more plum.

  1. The photos remind me of a warmer, deeper version of Guerlain’s blush G (the product pics more than the swatches). Looks lovely and the lipstick you have on with it is stunning.

  2. It looks so nice with the rest of your makeup! :)

  3. PoetrysTruth

This would ok for NW45 tones? Or is that too deep?

  4. I love the look of UD Big Bang on your lips!!

  5. Mariella

Weird that it would be close to Plum Foolery (which I have) because it looks so much warmer. It’s a very pretty product in the pan – really does look like a sunset.

  6. The image imprinted on the blush looks too pretty to sweep away. Otherwise, i would use this everyday!

  7. Karen

I definitely plan on picking this up when I hit Houston this weekend!

I personally love Laura Mercier’s cheek products. I think they are the most natural and beautiful looking of any I have tried and this is just a gorgeous adaptation of the trend of these pressed shape cheek melanges with overspray that just about every brand has come out with. It looks lovely on you Christine!

  27. You look gorgeous in this look Christine!

  28. Diane

I absolutely love this. It looks stunning on you.

  29. Lena

gotta say you’re doing something good with your skin christine, you practically glow in every picture. can’t wait for the lingerie de peau review.

btw what lipstick are you wearing?

  30. This is quite cute!

  31. Carmen

Wow, the picture of you looks great, Christine.
I just can’t see paying $40 for a blush, no matter how nice it is. I’m sure there are similar dupes for a lot less. And I don’t like LM’s lip products – tried a few and highly overrated for mediocre quality.

  32. Your teeth look so white!! Haha 😀 sorry, that was the main thing I noticed 😛
