Lacquistry Ashberry Frease Nail Lacquer
Lacquistry Ashberry Frease Nail Lacquer

A Very Berry Glitter

Lacquistry Ashberry Frease Nail Lacquer ($8.75 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is described as a mix of “fine, extra-fine raspberry and charcoal with raspberry mini-hex and raspberry holo mini-hex with gunmetal and holo gunmetal mini- and medium-hex glitter in a clear base.” It has medium-dark pink shimmer in an assortment of sizes going as large as small hexagon-shaped glitter particles, and then some glitters look redder than others, along with some black and silver hexagons. Some pieces are holographic, so they look like rainbow when tilted/angled.

I applied two coats of it on its own on my thumb and pinky nails, and then one coat layered over Color Club’s Fashion Moment, which is a reddish burgundy cream color. I thought it worked well over burgundy, and I think it would be really nice over black, too.  The formula is on the thicker side, but it ends up being a good base as the glitters spread evenly across the nail without having to dab or pull at them, and what you see in the bottle makes it onto the nail. Some care is needed, though, to avoid over-applying from the thickness. It’s semi-opaque in coverage after two coats, and you might get nearly opaque coverage with three coats.  I typically get a week of wear without chipping or peeling with Lacquistry’s formula.

A-
This has a lot of coverage for a glitter polish, and the particles lie flat and apply evenly--all great things. The only downside is the consistency is on the thicker side.

None that I could think of! Though not a dupe, Lacquistry's Coal for Wine-ers is in a somewhat similar vein.

I like this nail polish, and I don´t tend to like glitter polish with large glitter, but this one I strangely really like. I think it reminds me of something from my childhood but I don´t know what…lol , still pretty impressive for a nail polish to do that :) .

Very pretty alone and just as pretty layered. I don’t own any Lacquistry, what’s wrong with me? LOL!

I hear she’s great to order from, and stands behind her products. Apparently, she took it upon herself to replace some 500 bottles of polish that were “bleeders” as soon as she knew there was an issue (while many buyers hadn’t even noticed). For that reason alone, I feel compelled to buy from this company.

  4. Love it! What a beautiful glitter <3

  5. I guess it’s the micro glitter that gives the base a bit of a tinted look, but when I’m wanting a clear base, it needs to be CLEAR. This is still super pretty, though.
