Jayma Mays goes bold and practically neon with this orange-red matte lip. I can’t take my eyes off of them!

We wanted to create a modern retro look and make sure that overall the look was balanced against her gorgeous black dress. I began by prepping the skin with COVERGIRL Simply Ageless Serum Primer and then used COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Silk Foundation for a luxurious skin finish.
I created a smoky eye with dark brown shadows and lined the eyes with COVERGIRL LiquiLineBlast in Black Fire and smudged it out for a bit of drama, then applied COVERGIRL Line Exact in Black over it for added depth. I finished the eyes by curling her lashes and applying COVERGIRL LashBlast Volume.
We wanted a bright pop of orangy-red color on her lips so I used COVERGIRL Lip Perfection in Flame and applied it with a sharp lip brush to really define her lips.
I finished the look by applying COVERGIRL Clean Pressed Powder in Oil Control on her t-zone to eliminate any shine.

I LOVE this. It’s such a different look for her!
Her makeup and hair are lovely, they really bring focus to her eyes and lips which IMO are her most beautiful features….I don’t like the dress on her though. To me it just makes her chest look very flat and it doesn’t flatter her figure.
I think the dress is perfect, especially for the makeup. The silhouette is a perfect throwback to the 1920s.

Hm. Big fan of Jayma, but I think that this look sort of overwhelms her. I mean, she looks gorgeous, but it’s a lot going on at once. Maybe I’m biased, I watch Glee so I’m used to simpler looks from her. I do, however, LOVE the hair! I think if she went for a simpler eye and maybe navy or a charcoal instead of black for the dress, I’d be positively in love with everything about this.

agreed, the dress does not work for her frame, she’s just too thin.
I love the hair, it is soft and pretty. Not a fan of the overdone makeup, too dramatic with a bold lip and dark eyes. Dress is so so, it does not shape her body.

I’m a huge Jayma fan as well, but this is all just too too much. I seem to be in the minority, however, in that I love everything about this look EXCEPT the hair. I think with her hair in a low sleek chignon, she could have pulled the rest of the look off.

i like this look on her.the eyes and lips are both intense but they work well together because the eyes is very soft and well blended.its a good contrast with her skin and hair.she is a beautiful girl but my only concern is her weight.
I feel as though the lipcolor doesn’t work well with her hair, and that dress really just doesn’t do anything for her. But the hair is gorgeous and the eyes would be great with a more toned down lipcolor.
Another lip colour would have been better. Also she is so thin, looks unhealthy. Hair and eyes are nice though…

I actually really like it, never would have thought of pairing a summer-y orange lip with smoky eyes. It keep the eye make up and dress from looking too goth-y. Lovely!
I like the look, but I’ve never realized how THIN she is.
she’s entirely too skinny…. BUT I absolutely LOVE her hair and makeup like this. she’s always in such mousey roles. it’s fun to see her looking glam!
I love her, and she is very talented, but she does not look healthy here! I know she’s always been a small woman, but here she looks smaller than usual, and kinda gaunt. I love her lips, but feel like her face products/look and eye make up are not showing her beauty!

and she’s so pretty, she could do way better.
I think the brown e/s and liner is overdone on her. From afar, it looks good, but up close, all that gunk under the eyes is aging her and not flattering.

Love the hair, hate the lipstick! It makes her lips look really dry. If they had added a nice gloss, it would’ve worked much better.

She is a beautiful, young woman, with gorgeous, pale skin. I wish her makeup would have been a bit softer to reflect this. I would have loved to see her with softer eye makeup and the bold lip, but I feel both is a little too much.

Her hair looks fantastic, but that lipstick color and dress are a no go. Black doesn’t suit her at all — neither do orange-based red lippies.

I love the architecture of the dress and the intense black contrasted with the bright red of her hair. Her hair is absolutely amazing in styling and color.
However, I really don’t think the make-up here is flattering to her features. The orange lipstick strikes a huge discord with the tones of her hair and skin, and the eye make-up looks like it was smudged on in a rush. I’d love to have seen winged eyeliner and maybe a tawny lip.

I think she looks really pretty. It’s a nice change from the prissy little outfits she wears on Glee. It just shows how versatile she can be.

I have no clue who she is but she is so thin it looks like if you bumped into her, she would shatter into a million pieces. She gives girls another bad body image to look at and more girls aren’t eating right now to look sickly like Jayma. REAL WOMEN HAVE CURVES.
GiGi, “real” women come in all shapes and sizes, and IMO it’s just as offensive to say a thin woman isn’t “real” as it would be to insult a heavier woman.
That being said, I do think Jayma looks too thin, as in unhealthily so. Unfortunately I know whereof I speak — I was anorexic for years in high school, and it caused effects I regret to this day. Thankfully I eat and exercise normally and am a healthy size 4/6, but I used to have arms and clavicles like Jayma’s, and there’s just no way that’s normal. Sigh.

, I will say that I like her smoky eyes, love her hair, but the lipstick is awful. A soft, muted red or berry stain would have suited her much better. And I love the dress, but they should have taken it in at the top and given her some support or push-ups in the lady-lumps area. Listen, I’m not saying women should all look like Kim Kardashian, since I’m an average B-cup myself, but if you wear something like that you need the bust to support it.

She looks – honest to god – terrifying here. That red shade is ridiculous on her, I can’t take my eyes off it, I think the whole look in general is just not one that she can pull off.
I Love her in Glee and I think this Look suits her perfectly. I just think that if she had just a bit more flesh on the bones (I don’t know if you understand, it’s a dutch saying
) the dress would look even more prettier on here! If I was her stilist I would dress her in a kobold blue dress.. and kept her eyes a bit more natural! I love the combination of the hair and dress though. Just the eyes are a bit to much for my taste. But really, she is so pretty!

her eyes seem totally round like circles and the head like it belonges to an other a lot bigger body….her ear is superfycially big for that head too….
