January Jones – 2011 Golden Globe Awards – Hair & Makeup

January Jones @ 2011 Golden Globe Awards
January Jones @ 68th Golden Globe Awards
January Jones is wearing one of the racier gowns I’ve seen at this year’s Golden Globes… whew! Not work safe, I’d say…
Makeup How-to
“January’s look was all about strength – there was nothing demure about it! I wanted to go for a super strong brow, and a high gloss red lip. 90′s supermodel meets old Hollywood glamour!” — Rachel Goodwin
“The makeup was simple with two strong elements. I prepped her skin with CHANEL Sublimage Concentrate. I then sculpted her cheeks with CHANEL Bronzing Makeup Base. On her lids, I used a wash of champagne coloured shadow, CHANEL Soft Touch Eyeshadow in Liberty. I created a strong, bold defined brow with the CHANEL Perfect Brows palette, and applied two coats of CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir. Finally, I knew I wanted to go for a glossy red lip as opposed to a matte red, to keep the look fresh and not too retro. I used an amazing red gloss, CHANEL Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss in Excess, to complete January’s strong red carpet look.”
Hair How-to
Renato Campora was inspired by the styles of the 1960’s, which he believes is one of the most striking decades for beauty. His look created for January channels old Hollywood glamour, with a modern twist that is full of volume and timeless elegance.
On wet hair, Campora began by applying Fekkai Advanced Full Blown Styling Whip to create volume and Fekkai Coiff™ Contrôle Ironless Straightening Balm to smooth out the hair. He parted the hair to the side and blow dried using a round brush. To create waves, he put hair in hot rollers and let them sit for 10 minutes. Once he took the rollers out, Campora brushed through the hair creating volume and constructing shape for the style. To finish off her look, Renato sprayed Fekkai Coiff™ Sheer Hold Hairspray for all night hold.
See her dress!

She has porcelain skin.
Loving the retro hair and raspberry lips, but this is the Golden Globes, not a pool party.
Maybe she wants to counteract her “nice girl (though with dark sides)”-role in Mad Men, to show that she has different sides.
What I definitely like about her, Christina Hendricks and also Nicole Kidman is, that finally again there do exist pale people in public glamour life. It has started to come back some years ago (also with persons like Dita von Teese) but now it seems again more normal, which I really appreciate. Of course pale people who like to tan shall continue to do so, it looks good on many people, too, but at least now there seem to be options; that one does not need to be all bronzed and tan away the natural colour in order to be successful, hip or in fashion. That makes a big change as the celebrities are role models for many and also for the general mood. So now there are options: pale people can tan if they like to, but they can also choose not to and both choices are equal.
PS: in order not to be misunderstood, of course everyone can do what they like, and most people do
but my point is that public reception of the pale-look often was not that_good, it was still too much associated with unhealthyness or illness or goth or whatever (even though I like Goth
, not being something normal.
I love it when women show a daring amount of skin. Love your body, and show it off!
Okay, you have to admit, for her boobs to look that good in a dress like this is really impressive!
i would love 2 know what lipcolor she i wearing:)
It says CHANEL Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss in Excess in the description, now.
She looks breathtaking- like a real movie star.
Wow. Hello, Betty Draper. It is definitely racy but at least she’s on the smaller boob side so she can pull this off a bit better…
Her hair is beautiful.
i LOVE her!
wow, gurlfriend has FLAWLESS skin! so envious…
i think she can pull this off. if megan fox or kim kardashian wore this, it would look trashy. but she has a classiness to her that affords her a bit of leeway with wardrobe “scandal”!
She’s gorgeous and I love the hair, but that dress is … interesting. I wouldn’t have chose it.
I love her lips and dress! but i think she should make her eyebrows a little thinner
I’m loving the full brow on her!
her eyebrows are beautiful.. but the dress doesn’t look very good!!
LOVE the hair and makeup, but can’t say the same for the dress. The dress is a lovely colour, though, what there is of it.
Hair and make up both look amazing! She usually has coral lipstick on in Mad Men, and this is a really nice alternative. Oh and her nails usually match on the show too. So cute.
january’s hair is *perfect*
she looks like a doll, again.but i honestly think that her best look was in 2009 Emmys.that white Versace dress had taken my breath away
I wouldn’t be too sure about this kind of dress..
Not a fan of the dress, but her makeup is beautiful, and I love the lip color and how it complements the dress.
I don’t like the dress, but pale ladies represent! Natural tans are fine and all, but I hate when people criticize me for not tanning. Maybe January Jones and Christina Hendricks will change their minds!
Her hair and makeup are perfect, but why, why did she chose this awfull dress?
Stunning hair and make-up…. Strange, strange dress….
I have to say i loved it b/c of the hair and makeup but that dress wouldve been perfect if all the holes and spaces were filled in. im ok with the clevage but come on i think with the fabric the dress wouldve looked amazing. but she is beautiful and can prob pull off just about anything.
her dress looks like some kind of a chocolate wrap O_o but I like how the makeup looks on her
