January Jones @ 2010 Emmy Awards
2010 Emmy Awards: January Jones
January Jones is looking rather natural and bare-faced — maybe a champagne shade on her eyelids, but I can’t really make out what she’s wearing on her cheeks or if she’s rocking anything but her natural lip color!
Makeup Breakdown
For January’s make up I was inspired by Irving Penn’s iconic photos of his wife/supermodel Lisa Fonssagrives, whose signature extended eyeliner symbolizes the epitome of elegance. I used ultra feminine colours with super sculptural liner for a cool update on that classic late 50′s silhouette. — Rachel Goodwin
I used CHANEL Liquid Eyeliner in Noir along the lash line for an exaggerated cat eye effect, adding extra lashes on just the very outer edges for added length. I then applied two coats of inimitable CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir on the top lashes and one coat of CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Purple on the bottom lashes. The rest of the face I kept understated using minimal foundation, pale pink cream cheek colour and CHANEL Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss in Confidence on her lips. I finished the look by dusting her brow bone and lids with a loose iridescent pearl shadow with a hint of purple to play off the super reflective quality of her dress.

I usually love everything that Ms. Jones does with her makeup. This year she came up a little short in my opinion. She’s still beautiful.
She needs more color in her makeup
I feel like her skin seems a little dry or kind of powdery up close? The dress…looks a bit sci fi to me or like a peacock trailing its tail
I think the dress is just a little too much for the Emmy’s, but nonetheless, she looks gorgeous. She can get away with little to no makeup and still look amazing.
She def has an MLBB lip shade on…I think the more muted makeup works with a statement dress like she’s wearing. The look as a whole works I think-she’s a gorgeous girl.
Forget the make-up — that dress is AMAZING. Wow. I normally hate strapless dresses, but this — the colour, the fit, everything, it’s just fantastic. Like some sort of cobalt blue sci-fi princess heroine.
Bare-faced? It looks like someone spackled her foundation on. Gross.
I meant that it’s a barely there look, not necessarily that she’s not wearing any makeup
I love her hair. Her makeup up-close does not look very good. The dress I think is very cool!
what do you think is a mac lipstick dupe for hers?
Not loving the makeup at all, but the dress is amazing! She carries it very very well. Such a lovely color.
I’m loving the dress, and I’m kind of glad she went simple with the makeup given the bright color/design. Wish she would have done something else with her hair though!
Yeah that foundation doesn’t look so good. It’s almost distracting to me…caked on or something. Looks like maybe some half falsies to go with the natural look.
From a distance, her makeup works because it lets the dress do the talking. But in the close up shot, with the dress not in sight, she looks plain and washed-out.
Heh, if you look closely it looks like she has little blue party drink umbrellas on her boobs…
I think I’m kind of digging the dress!
The dress is odd, yet looks terrific on her. Some people can just pull off something like this.
When I saw her on stage she looked fab. My earlier comment said I don’t like her makeup here, but it does look great from a distance and under stage/photo lights, I guess it just doesn’t work under natural light.
i absolutely LOVE the color of her dress!
her make-up doesn’t look amazing on its own, but it compliments the gorgeous dress really well!
what is that? no way she just got out of her bed? no make up look + messy hair
Not a fan of the dress but her makeup looks stunning. Gotta love the natural look.
I love the color of the dress – and would have liked to see a little more color on her face – she looks washed out to me. My biggest “complaint” is her hair. Her hair always looks like an afterthought, or that she completely forgot to do anything. Looks liked damaged straw. Or maybe I just don’t understand this particular style…
minimal foundation?HAHAHAHAH
I think she looks stunning =) This blue dress…what an amazing colour
