Illamasqua Morale Powder Blush
Illamasqua Morale Powder Blush

Illamasqua Morale Powder Blush ($27.00 for 0.14 oz.) is described as a “shimmering magenta pink.” It’s a cool-toned, medium pink with a frosted finish. NARS Gaiety is more matte. MAC Peony Petal is darker, less frosted. MAC I’m the One is darker, less frosted. See comparison swatches here.

The texture of Morale is very soft but, as a result, somewhat powdery.  Luckily, the powderiness did not translate on the skin as dry-looking or chalky.  The high frost content of the finish did emphasize the texture of the skin and pores.  Morale blends out beautifully on the skin and can be worn as a subtle pink or layered for a more intense look, as it is incredibly pigmented but still buildable and blendable, so a sheerer application is possible.  There was minor fading after eight hours of wear.

The high frost content of the finish did emphasize the texture of the skin and pores, which is the biggest drawback of this product. It had great color payoff and was blendable and buildable.

  1. A bit too frosty for me, but I kind of like the way it looks with those dynamic shades on your eyes. Well done!

  2. Katie

Gorgeous; but far too cool for my warm skin! Still haven’t fallen head over heels in love with Illamasqua’s blushes yet…

  3. Cute color. But I already have Peony Petal and I have my eye on NARS Gaiety.. so maybe I won’t get this.

  4. A tad too frosty for my tastes, but it looks wonderful on you! I have NARS gaiety..the sans frost version :)

  5. That seems a bit frosty for me. But I came here to tell you your eyes look fantastic! And those earrings are beautiful!!

  6. The cons definitely outweigh the pros for me on this one :-(

  7. This was my first illamasqua purchase last year and one of my go to favorite blushes when I want a bold cheek or a really dewy look.

  8. Safyre

Eeeh, you look so pretty!!!!! :D I love your earrings too, lol.

  9. I am very interested in trying Illamasqua blushes after seeing reviews here on Temptalia. Possibly not this colour as I am kind of worried that my cheeks will end up looking red (pink cheeks and pink blush often equals super red face on me). But the blushes seems really nice and pigmented.

  10. This looks a bit like Estée Lauder Tease, you look lit from within! Xx

  11. the blush looks sooo similar to sleek’s new blush, called mirrored pink.

  12. Christen

does the swatch remind anyone else of hard candy living doll? even with the veining in living doll i think that these 2 are almost identical in tone and finish when swatched/worn…im sure illamasqua’s blushes have much better staying power tho!

  13. That is certainly a unique shade but too frosty and cool for me :/

  14. Ahhh this is so pretty! The finish is just lovely. Sometimes I like cool toned pink blushes, even though I’m very warm toned. I feel like they can really brighten your whole face
