Illamasqua: Lip Focus
I am absolutely in LOVE with Illamasqua’s Lipsticks (£14.00 each). The texture, pigmentation, and feel of the two I tried is phenomenal — incredibly smooth, extremely color-rich, and moisturizing. The wear time is top notch, giving me several hours and lasting through drinking a glass of water.
Encounter Lipstick is an opaque shade red that almost looks and feels like a matte, but it is more like a satiny finish with plenty of color and a soft sheen. Not every red works well on me, but this one made me want to go out and show ‘em off!
Obey Lipstick is a pretty coral-pink that’s rich in color so it’s opaque, and it has the same satiny finish of Encounter. I just love when a lipstick is soft, creamy, and has a natural sheen to it. (I find it difficult to wear matte lipsticks sometimes!)
I also tried out Lily Rose Sheer Lipgloss (£12.50 each), which is a semi-sheer red with just a little bit of pink and silver shimmer. It has an ultra glossy look when applied to lips, and it did give my lips plenty of color (kind of looked like watermelon-red on me). It makes me curious to see how intense the Intense Lipglosses are if their Sheer Lipglosses can give me this much color!
Have you tried Illamasqua’s lip products? Any favorites or recommendations?

I have their lipstick in Fetish (I think it is called that…) it is such an unusual purple, I love it. Illamasqua is an interesting company. I have had 2 makeup appointments, neither one sold me completely on the line, but the pigments are gorgeous, and the lipsticks too…

Encounter is amazing & looks superb on you. But Encounter + Lily Rose is just illegal!! Never saw red lips like that…unreal!! Don’t know if i’m sold on Obey as the application doesn’t look as smooth as Encounter but i am sure it’s nice in person.

Trying to decide if it’s worth it to pay for international shipping – will hubby kill me? Do I not tell him and buy??? Hmmmmmmmmmm. I am big on Illumasqua and can’t have it! How frustrating. Hey Christine. I too love Illamasqua! Those look delish on you! I have an intense gloss in Besotted (deep red) and Repulse (black) And a lipstick in Box, which is just a little darker than yours. I also have an eyeshadow in Fame (a bright vivid green). Love the lippies, was very disappointed with the shadow as the pay off isn’t what I was expected at all! If you’d like any swatches or lip swatches, I’d be happy to do some for you!

i swatched a couple of shadows and lipsticks, but i think i nee to go spend a bit more time at the counter…
for those lamenting not having illamasqua around–ordering online is kind of a plus anyway if you are interested in trying out a bunch of lipsticks or eyehadows, as their palettes are only available online!

I love the lipsticks but have 8 eyeshadows and don’t really like them at all

Obey is the only Illamasqua lipstick I have – the colour is lovely, but it went a bit funny after a short while and settled in patches – maybe it or my mouth was too dry? It felt really nice on, so maybe a drop of gloss would make a better finish.
