Hey Christine.. I am just curious to know how many do u own..
A lot, I’m sure, since I have many shades that aren’t even my shade
I own exactly ONE foundation, the Dainty Doll Liquid Foundation in 001, simply because it is the only foundation that is light enough for my skintone.
I only own one (!!) full-sized foundation, and even that I got for free. I own several others, but they’re all samples or deluxe samples.
I currently have 3, and I’m on a foundation no-buy until I finish 1 of them. But I’m having fun getting testers of lots of foundations to find out what’s going to be my next purchase.
Not counting my stash of drugstore foundations that don’t match and that I will never use, I have 5.
- Estee Lauder Double Wear: I wear it when I know I’m going to have a really long day and need to look flawless for like 16 hours.
- Estee Lauder Double Wear Light: My everyday choice
- Tarte Amazonian Clay: It’s ok for a weekend, but doesn’t last long enough for a work day.
- Smashbox BB Cream: My go-to choice for weekends and summer.
- Tarte Amazonian Clay Tinted Moisturizer: It’s ok. It doesn’t last long. I won’t repurchase, but I try to use it sometimes on weekends.
I have 6 currently, which is way too many (to be fair, I didn’t buy them all, one was a gift, one was a PR Sample). I’m working my way through three of them though, one is practically done!
None ! I never wear any foundation even if it’s the key to a pretty makeup. I only have samples. Lingerie de Peau is very good, others too but I don’t want to have full size foundations. I wonder if the new Lancôme one is good ( foundation and concealer ), the price is really high ( 57 € ! ) so definitely I prefer to buy lipsticks, eyeshadows or BB Creams whose new formulas are quite promising ( the Dior one for example is very good ).
I always like trying new foundations so I have alot of them. Plus, I have alot of different shades for summer and winter becasue I never tan the same every summer.
I’m glad that I’m not the only one who has *way* too many foundations. I have 7, plus 2 BB creams. But I find that I have to buy multiple foundations because I can never find a 100% match to my skintone. Here’s my inventory:
1. Nars Sheer Glow in Ceylan (almost gone, thank goodness)
2. L’Oreal True Match Lumi in W1-2
3. L’Oreal True Match Lumi in N3
4. Revlon Colorstay C/O in 180 Sand Beige
5. Revlon Colorstay C/O in 330 Natural Tan
6. Revlon Colorstay Whipped in 200 Nude
7. Revlon Nearly Naked in 130 Shell
8. Skin79 Super+ Pink BB Cream (also almost gone)
9. Skin79 Super+ Orange BB Cream
I had to take a guess. As far as what I actually use, there’s MUFE HD, Giorgio Armani Maestro, Jouer Matte Moisture Tint, and occasionally Illamasqua Skin Base, but I’m sure there’s a few more that I ended up not liking.
I currently own three: my Make Up For Ever HD, and two shades of the NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer that I mix together. Foundation is one of those things that I feel I only need one or two of that I really, really love.
Five. 2 MUFE, 1 Chanel, 1 YSL and 1 Estee Lauder. I love switching them out but will only keep between 3-5 tops.
I try to keep mine down to a low number. Most foundations break me out, so I tend to try then toss a lot.
Skin79 Super Gold Plus VIP BB Cream- I wear this for everyday- work, school, hanging out on weekdays.
Bare Minerals loose mineral powder foundation- For dance class or when I don’t wanna look like I’m wearing makeup.
Revlon Colorstay- for days when I have to go from class to working 8 hours, since it doesn’t require touchups.
I also wanna get one nicer one (probably MUFE Mat Velvet+) for going out and special occasions.
I’m embarassed to say I own about 15! I love trying new foundations – it’s where I spend most of my money makeup-wise!
Only one, UD Naked foundation in 3.5. I don’t wear foundation often, as my skin is actually fairly nice-ish.
I don’t really need foundation but I like the idea of it so I keep trying. I think I’m going to splurge on parure gold, it always looks so amazing on you!
I never thought I’d own such an obscene amount of foundations since I really hate the majority on the market, but I do! These aren’t even taking my concealers into account, although I’ve got significantly less of those. In addition to full sized foundation products, I’ve got a ton of deluxe sample sizes. My full sized foundations are as follows:
1) Estée Lauder Double Wear (regular size)
2) Estée Lauder Double Wear Light
3) Estée Lauder Double Wear (sales associates pro size – approximately a 200ml bottle)
4) Graftobian HD Glamour Creme 5 pan foundation palette
5) Maq Pro 6 pan foundation palette
6) Monave Liquid Matte
7) Monave Moisture Mousse
8) theBalm Time Balm (two shades)
9) Mehron Célèbre Pro HD (two shades)
10) Ben Nye Media Pro HD Sheer foundation
11) Avon Ideal Flawless
12) Avon Extra Lasting (two shades)
13) Monave loose mineral foundation
14) Monave loose mineral concealer/foundation (heavier coverage)
15) Monave loose mineral foundation in bulk (3 shades)
16) Avon Extra Lasting pressed powder foundation compacts (2 shades)
So technically, about 30 different full sized shades in multiple brands’ products. Not including deluxe travel/sample sizes. If I count those, I’m likely up around 45-50. I didn’t even realize how many I had til I counted them…..holy crap! Yeah, definitely do NOT need any more foundations! I’ve already found my favorites in multiple formulas, from minerals to pressed powders to liquids to creams to wax based products.
Revlon Colorstay Whipped
Almay Nearly Naked
Maybelline BB cream
Almay Clear Complexion
Estee Lauder DW
1. Face and Body C1 FTW!! I love feeling like im wearing no make up + the dewy look, it replaced Studio fix fluid since the first time I tried it.
Plus its such a good deal, 120 ml and not even 30 pounds
Foundation is one of those things I like to use up before I repurchase, so I only one of each kind – cream (Maybelline FITMe), powder (Bare Escentuals), and tinted moisturizer (Sonia Kashuk).
The only time I have multiples on hand is if I try a new brand and it winds up not working for me!
3. Bare Minerals, a Maybelline foundation and I picked up a Guerlain foundation today. I haven’t tried it yet but from the reviews, it seems promising
I really love trying foundations but I’m trying to keep my collection under control. I would love to try a few more high end ones and some true Asian BB’s.
Rimmel Lasting Finish
Estee Lauder Invisible Fluid
L’Oreal True Match Lumi
Neutrogena Healthy Skin
Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB
Maybelline Dream Fresh BB
I didn’t count mineral powder foundations in this because they are, well, powders and can function as such. I also didn’t count BB creams. I just counted liquid foundations. I’ve 2 from MAC (Pro Longwear and Matchmaster), 2 from Clarins (Skin Illusion and the long-wear one the name of which I forget) and my HG foundation, Lingerie de Peau from Guerlain. I’ve also got a foundation from Lise Watier that I keep forgetting to use.
I’m loyal to around 3 foundations, one which doubles as a concealer though. I’m very picky with which ones I use, due to my oily, acne prone skin and acne scarring. I wear my Almay Clear Complexion foundation with salicylic acid when I’m breaking out, or my latest awesome find, Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1. I use a dermablend foundation as my concealer, and then set it all with corn starch.
5 at the moment:
- Maybelline Fit Me
- Benefit Hello Flawless
- Illamasqua Cream Foundation
- Superdrug BB Cream (not sure this counts…)
- Lush Colour Supplement
I thought I had six but I forgot I just finished Diorskin Forever.
I own 14 foundations. Since I bought them online 3 – 4 are darker than they should be and 7 of them are unooened because I need to finish something before trying more foundations!
I used to not even wear foundation. Now I find myself seeking them out and trying out new ones. I currently have –
- 1 Graftobian HD 5-palette in Neutral# 1 – in hindsight, I probably need a Warm #1
- 3 Neutrogena Healthy Skin – Ivory (for highlighting), Natural Beige (close to my skin tone) & Tan (for shading)
- 1 MAC Face & Body in C3 – love this!
- 1 MAC Studio Sculpt in C30
- 1 L’oreal Lumi
- 1 Revlon Colorstay – don’t use this much anymore
- 1 Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme – really like this
I go between all of these depending on the effect or finish I’d like. Most often, I use either the Face & Body or the Neutrogena Healthy Skin.
I own two foundations: Nars Sheer Glow in Siberia as my “special occasion” foundation, and Revlon ColourStay Whipped in 110 to wear during long, super busy days. I have a ton of BB creams that I bought off of eBay, although I use Missha’s Perfect Cover and Real Complete most often.
hmm…
1. Giorgi Armani Lasting Silk
2. Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua
3. Face Atelier in two shades
4. Mac Prolongwear
5. Tarte Amazonian Clay
6. By Terry Cover Expert
7. Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer
8. Becca Luminous Colour
Plus a couple of powder foundations, a couple of BB creams and a tinted moisturizer.
Ugh, much too much and still not a single perfect match. Some terrific formulas, though.
Neutrogena Healthy skin and Revlon Colorstay Whipped, and MAC Studiosculpt. Still looking for my perfect foundation.
I’m a total foundation junkie. I like to have a variation of foundations with different properties/colors so I can mix and match to fit my needs for the day.
1) Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24h
2) Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua
3) Chanel Perfection Lumiere
4) MUFE Mat Velvet+
5) MAC Matchmaster
6) Kat Von D Lock-it
7) Nars Sheer Matte
8) Estee Lauder Invisible Skin
9) Shiseido Sun Protection
10) Illamasqua Skin Base
11) Neutrogena Healthy Skin
12) Revlon Colorstay Whipped
Out of all of these, I would only repurchase Lancome Teint Idole Ultra, Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua, MUFE Mat Velvet+, and Shiseido Sun Protection.
oops, one more!
13) Laura Mercier Silk Creme
Techinically I own no foundations. I own 1 Dr.Jart BB cream.
3… But I really only use one.
Urban Decay Naked – LOVE this and this is my everyday foundation.
Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Foundation – I put this to the side and haven’t used it in a while
Tarte – I forget what the other one is called (It’s the one in the glass bottle). I don’t really like it that much but I use it when I’m going to be outside since it has SPF in it.
I only use foundation in the winter when I don’t have a tan..I like Clinique Even Better..04 cream chamois..and this is my second bottle so I am happy with it or I would have tried something else..I also like Maybelline Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser concealer in Honey Miel 40 under my eyes..at lunch the other day my friend asked me for my dermatologist’s name because she thought my skin looks good..so I guess my makeup is working…
Honestly, I wear foundation maybe twice or three times a month! As a result I only own two foundations and one two tinted moisturizers. I think foundation is the kind of product that you try out, find what you like, and stick with it. In my opinion it’s not necessary to collect them.
Oh sweety! You must be either very young or very lucky because companies will just quit making foundations. A Black Day Zof Heartbreak when it happens to you, too.
1. I own one foundation. I have trouble finding foundations that work for me. First, I need powder foundation as I am oily (and mineral makeup makes me feel tight and itchy). Second, I need it cool-toned. 3. I need it to be almost white. I was using Illamasqua’s Powder Foundation in PF105, which is white with a hint of pink tone. It is perfect for me. Then Sephora stopped selling it and then it was just in Illamasqua’s sale and no longer on their website (and I was waiting for payday, and reaching free international shipping). I have 1.5 compacts left. Then what am I going to do?
Contact Monave Minerals, or take a quick look at their website first. They sell mineral foundations for all skin tones, from very light to very deep, and don’t use bismuth oxychloride in any of their formulations. That’s normally the ingredient that makes people feel like their skin is tight & itchy when using mineral foundations. They have light to medium coverage & full coverage loose minerals, as well as creamy liquid formulas – obe is called Moisture Mousse and the other is Liquid Matte. They’ve also got a thick ‘cream to powder’ concealer in pots. They provide generous samples – 4 in each shade set – so you can test various shades out for a very minimal price. They also give free samples – complete info on the website. If they don’t have your shade out of all the ones they make, they’d very likely make one for you. The owner of the company is very much concerned with customer service & has many other great products too, including foundation adjusters which you can add to your closest shade to get an exact match. I know they do have a pink adjuster. Just saw it on the website the other day, actually.
This is the only mineral foundation I’ll ever use. It never irritates my skin, never itches, never cakes up on me, doesn’t feel heavy on my skin, can be applied to dry or damp skin (or even added to your moisturizer to easily make a tinted moisturizer or liquid foundation), never breaks me out like so many other brands. And if I’m in the middle of a breakout for any reason, it helps heal it all up faster than with no makeup at all. It’s the only brand in my foundation collection that does this. The prices of their products are also really good.
Good luck
I have the Sephora brand tinted moisturizer that I set with Mineral Veil. I have a lot of woes looking for the perfect foundation, but this does the job for now.
Zero – I’ve never found one that didn’t feel too heavy or make the texture of my skin look weird.
Here’s my List, for reference my skin is combination + acne prone with very oily T-zone, and gets more oily under stress):
1) Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24h (my HG!!! Satin finish that’s not completely mat and certainly not dewy. Does not oxidize and long wearing. I only blot my T-zone after 6~8 hrs and I swear it looks better and better towards the end of the day than when you first apply it.)
2) Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua (very hydrating and good to wear during winter, if only the lasting power is a bit longer and it oxidizes slight)
3) Shiseido Perfect Refining Foundation (just bought it today due to one of those horrible urges, haven’t had a chance to try out yet)
4) MUFE Mat Velvet+
5) MUFE HD (junk… considering throwing out… it breaks me out and the lasting power is almost none… I get shiny after 1hr!)
Samples:
6) YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat Foundation (mixed feelings, wouldn’t purchase)
7) Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation (looks good when first applied, but somehow made me look at least 3 years older at the end of the day… not pretty)
I would only repurchase Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24h, and either Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua or Shiseido Perfect Refining as my winter foundation, but it depends on how I like my new Shiseido after testing it out. ^^

Complete foundation obsession!
You’re not alone! My list doesn’t vary much from yours. Foundations are my favorite things and I collect them shamelessly!
Wow! So which one’s your fave??
Many, I have Estée Lauder double wear and double wear light, both, in two colors each to mix and match. I have Lancôme teint miracle, teint idole ultra, Chanel mat lumiere in two colors, mufe mat velvet plus, mufe face and body, Chanel teint innocence compact (2), Guerlain parure extreme, illamasqua rich foundation, loreal true match, loreal lumi magique, loreal matte morphose, mabelline super stay, mabelline matte mousse, revlon colorstay in two colors, a powder foundation I can’t remember name of… And I since I am not at home, I might be forgetting some.. I have so many and each of these hardly get used…and I am not rich, just crazy!
Oh, I forgot Lauren mercier tinted moisturiser and the laura mercier silk creme foundation!

4. MUFE HD
5. Graftobian HD
6. Cinema Secrets cream
7. Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer

9. Benefit Some-Kind-of-Gorgeous
10. Laura Mercier Mineral Powder
11. Revlon Colorstay
12. MUFE Velvet Mat+
13. Koh Gen Do Moisture Foundation
14. MUFE Duo Powder
*hangs head in shame* no one should have this much foundation as a non-professional.
I felt bad for having 5, but after reading through the comments, I don’t anymore! Aha. I think it’s important to mention that I have oily, acne-prone skin. I have:
1) MAC Matchmaster in 5.0 (almost done though!)
2) MAC Studio Sculpt in NC 40
3) MAC Face and Body (120 mL) in C4
4) Revlon Colourstay (liquid) in 350 Rich Tan
5) Revlon Colourstay (whipped) in 370 Natural Tan
I have only finished MAC Prolong Wear foundation in NC 40, it was awesome, but I won’t be repurchasing anytime soon. I like to keep my foundations at a good amount to where I can at least enjoy them, and not worry about finishing them up to use something else! I also feel that my skin needs have changed from when I first purchased this, and so I don’t need such a full coverage foundation anymore, though I do tend to prefer more full, or medium to full coverage foundations
I’ve also been lemming on Lancome Tient Idole Ultra!
ONE. I really don’t see why I’d need more than four, even taking into account the opportunity to mix shades or vary textures with the weather/seasons!
I have two foundations, and one tInted moisturizer:
MUFE Face & Body
NARS Sheer Glow
NARS Pure Radiant TM
only one brand – Bare Minerals Original loose foundation in Medium during the winter/Medium Tan during the summer.
Found this in 2000 and won’t wear anything else. It’s perfect – my Holy Grail.
I have two and I’ve never worn either one out. One is just a tad bit light and cool, so I found that it’s pretty good underneath my eyes to make things pop a bit (I wear glasses always so I think it’s good to have a good background for my eye makeup).
I have oily but very clear skin, so foundations always make me feel like I’m suffocating it for no good reason. I have nothing to cover, work hard to keep it that way, and my complexion is pretty glowy and hydrated on its own(as I’m frequently told). The only time I wore full coverage foundation was when I was made up for a wedding and my skin felt awful afterwards.
I think I got it b/c I felt like I should have the ability to create a really finished look but I do well using a little oil control and keeping blotting paper in my purse.
I will say the most recent one is from a new Urban Decay line and the beauty specialist put it on, it was a perfect match, and it didn’t make my skin feel icky and was easy to wipe off at the end of the day. Like I said, the only reason I don’t bother is b/c I’m really not trying to cover anything. I could see using this perhaps if I was taking picture or something. If you are looking for light coverage, I’d say check out the UD. It is the only foundation I’ve had put on my skin that I’d ever repeat.
I have three, two of which I didn’t like. I like to stick to one brand of foundation and spend the extra $ on the cutesy stuff that comes in many colors, like eyeshadows, blushes, lip items.
I have 2 that I mix and use year-round – Revlon Colorstay and Neutrogena Healthy Skin. I felt bad for even thinking about buying another but then I read everyone’s comments! XD
I have 1 BB cream at the moment (I think that counts as foundation) but monday I go to a city with a MAC counter, so I can buy a new flacon of my fav foundation: fluid fix nc15 ^^
I generally use 2-5 per season. At least 2 types of liquid foundation, I can mix to find a good matching color, along with use of a bb cream/primer, and setting powder to set as well as set the tone of my foundation for the best match for my look. I also use tinted moisturizer, but not on a daily basis, usually when I do a once a week deep moisturizing treatment for my eyes.
Ooh, I have several .I like long staying foundations for oily combination skin.I have tried/sampled like a million though.Past few years have been great , since foundations are getting awesome, better color matches, longer staying.
1 Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24hr – 3 of them, my HG,making sure I have backups I guess.
2.Dior Forever Flawless -I have a darker shade for summer.I like this one too.
3 Chanel Perfection Lumiere- had to have just cos I wanted one Chanel foundation.
4. Revlon Colorstay Whipped creme-had to check what the buzz was about, just not enough yellow for my Asian Skin.
5.Nars Tinted Moisturiser- for my weekends and holidays.
Forgot to add my Le Metier De beaute foundation, its good too.

Out of those, mt favourites would be the Estee Lauder Double Wears, the regular being my preference as the colour selection is way better and I like the finish a little more than the Maximum Cover. It covers everything, lasts all day, and looks amazing.
And despite having this many foundations, there’s still at least a handful more I want. I tend like different finishes for different occasions, and I’ll choose formulas depending on what sort of look I’m after at the time, where it is I’m going, and how long I’ll be wearing foundation. I’ll choose a long wear foundation if I’m going to work, if my skin has been dry, I’ll choose a cream makeup to help hydrate, if it’s been relatively blemish free and I’m going for a more natural look, I’ll use a mineral foundation, if it’s needing extra cover I’ll go for a matte makeup, and so on and so forth. Plus my skin colour changes quite often from season to season (and even during), so depending on how much sun I get, and various other factors, so I like to have a few different shades and finishes at my disposal.
Okay, I am not alone. I have quite a few.
1 MAC Studio Fix Powder – I use this most days – perfect shade for em
2 MUFE Matte Velvet + in two shades – I use this in the summer on special occasions, I have oily skin and it really works for me, but too heavy for daily use
3 Chanel Perfection Lumiere – Whenever I want to feel and look flawless – perfect shade for me
4 Revlon Colorstay in two shades – I use this rarely, used to be my go to, but I don’t like the bottle and studio fix is easier to carry around.
5 Clinique Perfectly Real – rarely use this, it’s in my makeup bag at work in case I don’t apply foundation and need it for some reason
6 MAC Mineralized Skinfinish Natural – I use it when I just want my skin to look glowy.
The only ones I will more than likely repurchase are MAC Studio Fix, Chanel Perfection Lumiere and MAC Mineralized Skinfinish Natural. They are my HG foundations.
Lancome Color Ideal
Benefit Oh Wow
MAC Pro Long Wear (Just a few more uses left)
Smashbox HD Foundations ( +2 back up bottles, my go to summer shade)
Laura Mercier TM
Maybelliene BB Cream (+1 back up)
Smashbox TM
MAC Studio Fix Powder
Covergirl Natural Luxe
That’s it for now. I’m actually going on a buying hiatus until I use up what I have.
I have 3 two MAC studio sculpt foundations and one illamasqua skin base. Illamasqua skin base has GOT to be my favourite though. I’ve used it in my video for Glowy Foundation and it looks BOMB.com.
