  1. Fitrah

    none for me :)

  2. MonicaP

I own about 7. 3 from Tarte, 1 Revlon color stay, 1 Rimmel, 1 Makeup Forever, 1 Clinique. I’ll only re-purchase the Revlon Color Stay and the Clinique Even Better Foundation.

  3. I have a spring/summer foundation, fall/winter foundation, and a travel foundation. The brands may change but the types are always the same. I also did a makeup purge thanks to an upcoming move. I probably had 6 foundations before that. I have to learn to use my makeup to the pan before buying new ones.

  4. Dinitchka

I do Spring & Summer and Fall & Winter mixes. I have to mix foundations as the lightest foundations are not light enough. I think I own around 12-15 various brands and lightest shades in each. I do have a pot of samples and it is WAY too dark for me. I use it in the summer time. I put a dab on the back of my hand and mix in a dollop of a light shade.

  5. I own 5 different types/brands of foundation but own a 1 or 3 shade in each because I usually have to mix white to them to get something close to my skin tone I’m just that pale.

  6. I have a lot of foundation products:
    NARS Sheer Glow in Siberia
    NARS Sheer Matte in Siberia
    NARS pressed powder in Siberia
    NARS Tinted Moisturizer in Finland
Meow Pampered Puss foundation in Inquisitive Siamese
Urban Decay Naked Skin Liquid Foundation in .5
Recently I tracked down and purchased the Holika Holika Essential Petit BB Cream SPF 30 PA++
    Laura Geller Balance-n-brighten in Porcelain
    Pixi beauty powder in Fair
Too Faced Amazing Face Liquid Foundation in Vanilla Creme
Too Faced Powder foundation in Vanilla Creme
    Illamasqua Skin Base in 1
    Illamasqua Skin Base in 4
    Illamasqua Skin Base in Au
Luminess Air airbrush foundation in Porcelain
    Face Atelier Zero Minus
Benefit Hellow Flawless I’m Pure 4 Sure Ivory
Mirabella Beauty liquid foundation in 1N
Mirabella Beauty Pressed foundation in 1N
Rain Cosmetics Conceal Reveal in Baby Doll Bisque
Philosophy Tinted Moisturizer in Extra Light

… and that’s just off the top of my head.
    Yes, I have a lot o foundations.
I believe in a flawless face as the perfect start to a great look :)

And what do you think, from what you’ve used, that suites best for normal skin, i like something more creamy, but not cream foundation..bourjois healthy mix is a liquid foundation that is kind of creamy, it blends very well but I want to try something with more coverage.

      • My skin is sensitive, combo, and recently diagnosed with rosacea.

        My favorites:
        Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation
        NARS Sheer Glow
        Meow Pampered Puss foundation
        Illamasqua Skin Base
Holika Holika Essential Petit BB Cream SPF 30 PA++

For normal skin… maybe try the Benefit?

        • Rachel

What foundation is best for covering rosacea? :)

          • That’s a very good question. I was only diagnosed 2 weeks ago. I only have 2 small areas of skin that are different – texture wise – because of the rosacea. My favorite foundation to wear right now is the UD Naked Skin foundation, with my second favorite being the Illamasqua Skin Base.

Sadly, because of the medication that they put me on, I’m peeling like crazy right now!

    • Dinitchka

You have a bunch of light colours I’ve looked at. Have you reviewed them all? I just ordered the white foundation from Illamasqua. As of a few hours ago, Royal Mail has my package at Heathrow.

      • I’ve reviewed a bunch of them. I also have swatches along my jaw of most of them. I really should re-review them since I’m pickier now about foundation.

    • Nicoco Chanel

How do you find the Skin Base Au, colour-wise? I’ve been thinking about buying it but keep backing off because I feel too pale for it.

      • I like the skin base a lot. I have to mix 1 and 4 to match my shade. 2 is actually good match, but I didn’t find out til a friend sent me a sample of 2, because I’d bought 4 and it was too dark, and I bought 1, and while I can get away with 1 sheerly, 2 looks best.

Right now though, hands down, the UD Naked Skin is my favorite.

        • Nicoco Chanel

I do love their shade range! I’ve tried a couple of the shades before but never gotten around to buying. It’s good to know it works (and mixes) well!

Naked Skin is one I’m considering – I love the finish on it; one of the few times I’ve not asked to be matted to the hilt after a foundation – but I think I’m between .5 and 3.5 which sucks. And IDK if it’s the samples they have in Debenhams or what, but it keeps smelling almost like tobacco when I swatch it. :/

          • I can assure you it doesn’t smell like smoke to me (the UD naked that I have). They’ve got .5, 1, 2, 3 and 3.5 in that range. I found .5 to be very forgiving as I tend to go for the pale neutrals (think NARS Siberia), but it works really well on me, in my opinion.

            • Nicoco Chanel

I dunno if it’s just something about the places I’ve tried it at, but it’s the strangest damn thing! But people comment on HF having a scent and I haven’t smelled a thing from mine. I’ll try it in another place and see what happens.

I might give .5 a proper go then, since I go for Mont Blanc. <3

  7. Azaza

I think I have around 10 or more but majority of those are powder foundations. Some of those powder foundations are gifts for my mom that I just want to use up cause I dont have the heart to throw them out

  8. Kimberly

I think I have at least 3 foundations. My HG MUFE HD in 115, and 2 revlon photofinish foundations because one of them didn’t match my skintone…I should probably toss those out. They’re a good year or 2 old now and I never use them. Thanks for reminding me. Time for some end-of-summer cleaning

  9. Daniela

I have two liquid foundations and a mineral foundation. The liquid ones are sitting there collecting dust (but sometimes I use them as concealer). I use the mineral foundation probably once or twice a month.

  10. I own one full-sized foundation (an Anna Sui GWP), I own several more but they’re all samples. ^^; For me, foundation is something I’d only buy a full size of if it’s perfect. I’d rather have one that is really good than several that are just okay (in terms of quality and color match).

Thankfully I don’t need a lot of coverage, so going out without foundation isn’t a big deal for me at all.

  11. Far too many! More than 10. I like different finishes and coverages plus I am seriously impossible to match like a pale pale olive neutral so I end up buying 2 shades because I’m always somewhere inbetween, but never really matched. I have a helluvalot of ‘so so’s’. Right now, the best matches out of the pack are MUFE HD in 120 which is still too dark and a smidgen too yellow. Or Illamasqua 5.5 which is a smidgen too pink. I frequently end up blending these two together. My face is, about 3 shades darker than my neck and chest, so if I match my foundation to my face, I look supremely ridiculous. If I match to my neck and chest, I look goth pale. Foundation is definitely my nemesis product. I’ve wasted waaaaaayyyyyyy too much money seeking something I do not think exists. Oh, and recently received a tester of Hourglass Veil. Loved the formula, but the sample in 1.5 Nude was far too dark ..shockingly dark actually, on me and too ruddy orangey. Do I skip down to 1.0 Ivory? I don’t think of myself as Ivory and at $60 for the foundation, it’s too risky and what are the chances it will match..?? Highly unlikely. Is the answer going to the makeup counter.. hell no, I’ve been completely mismatched so many times, I can’t being to count.

    • Stacie

I have found that the hourglass foundations run REALLY dark and are a little orange. I am typically always the lightest shade and the lightest shade from that brand which is number 0, porcelain I believe was still about 3 shades too dark and made me look like an oompa loompa. I gave up.

  12. mada

what do you think, from what you’ve used, that suites best for normal skin, i like something more creamy, but not cream foundation..bourjois healthy mix is a liquid foundation that is kind of creamy, it blends very well but I want to try something with more coverage.

  13. Sara

    One. And four BB creams.

  14. I almost never have more than one foundation at a time, but since I’ve recently started buying a BB cream that’s tinted and since I have a bit of Summer colour, I suddenly have THREE liquid products and a finishing powder.

I have given thought to have a “special occasion” foundation, one I can’t afford to buy for everyday use, but that really makes my skin PERFECT.

  15. Mirian

I have 2, Nars Mont Blanc and YSL Touche Eclat B10. Then I have the Hourglass tinted moisturizer and a BB cream from skin 79. My best friend, however, has the most impressive collection! She has at least 30 I think and she usually buys two colors from each to get a perfect match. She’s committed to makeup, that’s for sure :)

  16. Jennifer

I have MAC Studiosculpt, Bareminerals Mineral Foundation, Revlon Colorstay whipped (which is my new favorite), and Neutrogena Healthyskin (which I haven’t used yet). I also have a Tarte tinted moisturizer, but I don’t know if that counts.

  17. Lee

I have a light coverage for everyday wear (Prescriptives) in a couple of shades (one for summer and one for winter) and a full coverage (MUFE) for when I go out and want to do a full face. I do want to try a BB crwam for days when I don’t feel like wearing much.

  18. Alison

    I own just the one!

  19. Kafka

I chose 5-10 but after checking, I miscalculated the number since I have more than 10:
1 Shu Uemura UV Liquid Foundation(that is now discontinued which saddens me enormously as it was my HG),
    1 YSL Teint Radiance,
    1 NARS Sheer Glow,
    1 MUFE HD,
1 MAC Studio Finish (urrrggghhhhhhhhh! Makes my eyes water like crazy.)
3 L’Oreal Tru Match (which don’t match, btw. At ALL.),
    2 L’Oreal Cashmere,
1 Rimmel (which is surprisingly good for full-coverage and way better than the MAC or L’Oreal, imo)

All this is not counting the NARS Tinted Moisturizers (St. Moritz) and the Shiseido one (#03 Medium Deep).

  20. Nicoco Chanel

Diorskin Forever [20] – slightly too dark for me now, I’m just trying to finish it off!
Lush Colour Supplement [Light Pink] – love it, but it’s a bit tricky to apply. I usually mix it with a liquid highlighter for a bit of kick.
Benefit Hello Flawless Liquid [Believe In Me Ivory] – closest to a HG foundation I own, but I’m still waffling on whether I should try something else.

  21. Kera

I only have one. I’ve only had one do far that has been a perfect match for me so I stick with it. But recently I have tried to branch out and I got some samples from mufe and nars. I like them so far but have not completely decided to purchase as yet.

  22. I have 7: Laura Mercier Oil Free Foundation, Clinique Repaiwear Laser Focus, 2 shades of Clinique Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturizer, Smashbox Sheer Focus Tinted Moisturizer, and 2 Garnier BB creams. And I mostly use 3. Is that the same for some of you? Having a bunch of these products, but mainly using a few? 😉

    • Kafka

Definitely the same here. I have more than 10 but mostly just use 2: the NARS Sheer Glow (which is my main foundation) & the MUFE HD. I save my absolute favorite one (Shiseido) for rare occasions as I have little left and is now discontinued. BTW, I tried a sample of that Laura Mercier one and liked it quite a bit but it oxidized really quickly on me. Does it do that for you?

  23. Jessica

i only have 1 foundation that I use. but I selected 2-4 because I also have a couple tinted moisturizers and I have 1 old foundation from my tanning bed days that is waaaay to dark for me now. haha

  24. n.

Too many… and I hate all of them.

Laura Mercier, Chanel, Estee Lauder, Revlon.

To be fair, I like the Laura Mercier the best out of the bunch. It is the oil free tinted moisturizer. It’s not cakey and it looks the most natural.

  25. Xero

I don’t own any foundation, though I do own a tinted moisturizer that isn’t even my shade.

  26. Ana

5! And I don’t know what to think of them… I’m breaking out pretty badly these last two months even with my HG prolongwear concealer! I thought I found my HG foundation in Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua (which matches me perfectly) but no! :( I don’t wear foundation until I get rid of these horrendous breakouts…. The rest of my foundations are either too light for my skintone or 2 shades darker… Still looking forward to use them all! :(

    • Ana

Oh and If you wanna know which ones exactly:
Lancome teint idole freshwear (too light)
Maybelline pure make up (a shade darker so I mix it with the lancome one)
Maybelline mineral power (I use it to mix other foundations is waaay too light)
MAC Studio Fix Fluid (looove the way it photographs but feels really heavy on the skin, breaks me out and makes me oily as nothing)
Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua (AMAZING!) too bad isn’t working for me :(

  27. shelly

    * L’Oreal True Match Lumi foundation [W1], which I tried once and, after half and hour, had to remove because it was making my skin itch. And it’s a little too dark for me anyway (unless I blend it in).

    * Illamasqua Light Liquid Foundation [115], which I haven’t used for a while.

    * Maybelline Fit Me [110], one of the only drugstore foundations that has a shade that suits me (and the only one I’m willing to use).

    * NARS Sheer Glow [Siberia], which is becoming my favourite.

  28. Liz

I mostly use UD Surreal Skin Mineral Powder foundation, I also use L’oreal True Match in a combination of two colors. Sometimes I’ll use Make Up For Ever HD if I”m going out or I know I’m going to be photographed.

  29. AnGeLwInGz

The only foundations I have are some sample packets of the UD Naked Skin.

  30. Sanguine13

One liquid foundation (Nars Sheer Glow in Siberia), 1 powder foundation (Benefit Hello Flawless), and two tinted moisturizers/BB creams (Skin79 Hot Pink and Missha Perfect Cover in #13).

  31. Espe Barajas

For personal use, I only have four. MAC Studio Sculpt, MAC Face and Body, Bare Minerals foundation, and my Hourglass Veil Fluid makeup

  32. Mietta

    Oh…I feel so embarrassed..I just counted ‘some’ in my head and I’m already past 10 when I clicked on the 5-10 option! ^_^;

  33. Two foundations; Maybelline FitMe (110) and BYS Age Defying in the lightest shade. I bought my first “BB Cream” yesterday, Maybelline’s, if it counts.

  34. nana k

    my main 3 would be:
    Giorgio Armani Lasting Silk UV
    Chantecaille Future Skin
    Burberry Sheer Fluid Foundation
but might be purchasing one or two more from the new F/W launches!

  35. Nikki

I own three: MUFE HD, MUFE F&B, and MAC Studio Careblend. I use MUFE HD for special occasions when I want to be flawless because it covers everything and photographs beautifully! I use MUFE F&B for casual days/outings when I want to appear more polished. I find it evens me out and is the most natural liquid I’ve ever used. I just recently purchased the MAC Studio Careblend, and my plan is to use it solely as a daily powder foundation for a quick and easy look.

    • Nikki

      Scratch the MAC Careblend powder…

I tried it out, and it made my face an itchy, irritated mess! It was quickly returned! That was my very last attempt at MAC face products. I’ll be sticking with my MUFE! They NEVER let me down! :-)

  36. Steph

Two! My regular shade and a darker one for mixing when I’m tan.

  37. Rachel

    Let’s see:

    covergirl natureluxe (broke me out!)
bourjois healthy mix liquid (not bad but way too dark for me now)
urban decay tinted moisturizer in halo (lightest shade and way too dark)
bobbi brown bb cream in extra light (settles into my pores and looks cakey and feels heavy. argh.)
bobbi brown moisture rich foundation in porcelain (love the dewy finish but hate how it doesn’t last long and can tend to look a little cakey and how it’s light coverage)
MUFE HD in 110 (if this was yellow toned instead of pink it’d have been a perfect match!)

  38. xamyx

Far more than I care to count (or actually admit). I’m well past the 20s. I mainly wear DS foundation, and I take advantage of BOGO sales, so many are unopened, unused backups of foundations I’ve moved on from. I should go through them again, and get rid of the ones I don’t like or aren’t a good color match. Before I moved, I threw out several that had “turned”, or that were old and had been used.

  39. Veronica

I own three foundations (two liquid – Maybelline FitMe in 115 and Covergirl in Ivory, one powder – Covergirl?), but I only really use the Maybelline FitMe 115. Actually, now that I think about it, I think I may have tossed the powder one a few weeks back. The Covergirl foundation works well enough on me, but it’s a thicker coverage than I need. It winds up getting used more often as a light concealer.

During the summer months, I’m wont to reach for tinted moisturizer instead, so I have two of those – Sephora brand in beige and Sonia Kashuk in fair. (The latter is always in my travel-ready makeup bag.)

  40. Mariella

Very weird – twice now I’ve posted replies in this thread and they haven’t appeared (not even in that “awaiting approval” format). Christine, is there something I’m not doing that I should be doing?

    • I’m not sure – I don’t see any of your comments in the spam filter (which is where they would go if they went through but weren’t showing as awaiting approval), and this was the only pending comment I had from you!

  41. Nicole

I have 4 liquid foundations and 2 powder ones equals 6 in total.

  42. Lacey J.

    My current three are:

    Mac Prolongwear
    Nars Sheer Glow
    and Dream Lumi liquid

I can’t decide which is my favorite, right now I think it is Mac, it just wears better throughout the day, Nars is the most natural looking, holy grail for sure, only thing is it wipes off on my phone sometimes and Mac doesn’t do that. Dream lumi is an alright foundation. I would buy it again if I was on a tight budget for sure. I rotate between the three though and my Nars is almost gone so that’s gotta say something. lol. Dream lumi can also get a tad oily throughout the day so it would probably be better for winter wear.

Nars is not the best coverage, Mac would be best for coverage, and the Dream Lumi is somewhere between the two. But Nars covers most everything except my really ridiculous blemishes.

  43. CuriousCreature

6 Used for different reasons and looks-
Exercising/Summer or Weekends- my own mineral foundation powder, Too Faced BB Cream, & UD’s NakedSkin
Med/Full/Photo- StudioTech by Mac, Kett Hydro, Graftobian HD

  44. Ryggs

I own Giorgio A in Luminous Silk 10 and 11.5, Bobbi B. warm almond, Artistry, Maybelline BB which is too red, Laura Mercier.

  45. Stephanie

Mmmmmkay…… I’m going to put myself on the spot now….but I have explinations, I promise
    – MUFE HD (I want to like this one but it doesn’t give me the coverage that everyone claims. Surprisingly I’m very oily but makes my skin look dry)
    – Illamasqua Skin Base (I do like this but again, not the coverage I would like)
    – Illamasqua Rich Liquid Foundation (Gives coverage I love and desire but can only use it during the winter because I can basically have enough to support a cooking oil company during the summer)
    – UD Naked (love this for work. Makes my skin look natural without showing all of my skins nasties, but not full coverage)
    – MAC Studio Fix liquid and pressed powder(love the coverage but takes me forever to achieve it during the work-week)
    – Revlon Colorstay (got the wrong color, too light. Should give it away)
    – Rimmel’s 24 hour foundation (I liked the formula 2 years ago, but now it seems like it’s changed. I should give it away)
    – Lioelle (sp) Triple the Solution BB cream (too light for me, waiting for winter to try it)
    – MUFE Duo Matte, LORAC POREfection, CARGO Blu Ray (love)and Milani’s Correcting powder, Illamasqua (love) and MAC MSF Natural(all pressed powders). I have to set my foundations due to my type of skin.

    • Keo D

Totally agree w/ you abt the MUFE HD! I really wanted to love it but it was so thick and made me feel dry/cakey (I have oily skin as well).

I love Rimmel’s Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation though. For a drugstore brand, I think it’s amazing. Gives me medium to full coverage while still looking natural and not caked up (even with powder on top). One of my favorites.

  46. natalia

I go quite pale to quite tan throughout the year so I have more than 10.

Just a few of my favorites:
    Dior Nude
Dior Forver (although this was in the old formulation, I haven’t tried the new one)
    Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua
    Lancome Teint Miracle
