Technically not a lipstick, but if I blot my lip tars I get a solid 5 hours of wear out of them as long as I’m careful not to lick my lips and eat/drink really carefully, which is awesome! :) Eve

I put my lipstick on at 7:30 am, then come to work, have a coffee and by 10:00 – 10:30 am, I’m re-applying.

Doesn’t matter what brand .. it all needs re-applying. Although Chanel lipstick seems to last the longest.

Wow, I thought I was going to be in a minority; I can never seem to keep lipstick on, which is why I rarely bother with it. I love the look of lipstick, but I’ve always had customer facing jobs which never afford me the time to freshen up the color, and nothing looks worse (to me) than haphazard makeup application. I always thought it was something I was doing wrong, as I rarely have to retouch anything else. I just go with lib balm, or for color, a lip stain, unless I’m going out.

  4. Unless I’m going somewhere I know I won’t be eating or drinking I usually just go without lipstick. It just disappears! I’d rather use a lip stain with a gloss on top honestly.

  5. Lipstick tends to fade really quickly on me because I have a horrible oral fixation. I have to be doing something with my mouth or I just end up absentmindedly licking my lips and rubbing them together.

I usually wipe it off after 2-3 hours. I’m not a big fan of lipstick.

usually more than 4 hours- i only wear matte lipstick, and i think that influences it. when i wear revlon, usually 2-3 hours before touching up, but mac can go a long time without needing anything, even when i eat. on the rare occasions that i wear a creme lipstick, i reapply and touch up almost constantly, though.

My lipstick lasts until *I* take it off! I usually wear mattes or really good glosses like Bare Minerals Pretty Amazing. But the key to having my lipstick stay on from about 7:20 AM when I put it on until 6:30 PM (or much later if I go out after work) is Paula Dorf Perfect Illusion. I cannot stress ENOUGH how great this product is. Once your lipstick is over it, it won’t move at all! I also use a lipliner. I’m not really a fan of glosses because they bleed and have to be reapplied. Revlon used to make a Colorstay lipstick in clear that served the same purpose as the Paula Dorf and it was great, but it was discontinued. So I pay for the more expensive Paula Dorf product now. I’ve tried the Urban Decay lip primer and the MAC Prep + Prime Lip Base but they have too much slip. One lipstick that I think will stay on forever whether you use Paula Dorf or not is Kat Von D’s Everlasting Love Liquid Lipstick. It comes on as a liquid gloss but dries down so much it’s practically permanent. I had to use Clinique’s Take the Day Off to get it off! I think it’s a great choice if you don’t want to reapply at all.

It depends on what I’m doing that day, but it’s generally between 1-4 hours. I’m very pedantic about how my lipstick is applied, so it’s not often that I actually get to see how long color lasts on me since I generally touch up at the slightest fading. This counts even more so if I’m eating or drinking, so it’s 1-2 hours before I find myself touching up again. If I’m not doing that, then regardless of how it looks, I usually blot it down and reapply every 3-4 hours with more balm underneath because my lips tend to be sensitive in general. I like to be proactive and keep them hydrated before the damage sets in. Of course, this is for any lipstick that isn’t red. For my red lippies, I have a whole set of special maintenance checks that go into upkeep on it, since I’m paranoid about it bleeding.

The best and longest lasting lipstick I’ve worn yet is my NARS Valparaiso. It lasted five hours straight without touch up, even through two cups of coffee, and even without a liner, I didn’t get any bleeding. Even more impressive, given that it was a matte formula didn’t dry me out in that time period. Dior’s Lip Addict Collection also wears supremely well on me – I don’t even bother with a liner with those, and I have no slipping and fading as long as nothing touches my mouth.

I get just over 3 hours wear. I love pulling out a pretty compact and reapplying lipstick.

I voted 1-2 hrs. But that being said, the other day I wore MUFE Rouge Artiste Intense in 42, and it lasted over 5 hours on me. Without retouching. I decided then and there MUFE is the lippie for me.

  12. I’m addicted to lip balm so lipstick always fades quite quickly on me. And if I try not using lip balm over it, then my lips just end up looking dried out and gross. As such I don’t wear lipstick very often.

About 4 hours minimum with NARS matte lipsticks and that’s with drinking Diet Coke almost nonstop throughout the day! It’s why NARS is my Go-To and Holy Grail brand for lipsticks. I almost never buy anything else. I used to love Guerlain and YSL but since they’ve stopped making mattes (or what *I* consider as matte), or lipsticks that really stay on, I don’t even bother looking at their stuff anymore. I’m venturing out into Illamasqua now (thanks to you)but I doubt anything will shake my obsession with NARS.

Most lipsticks I have last for less than an hour on me! *sob*
Matte & long-wearing lipsticks can reach to 3 hrs, but then again, I have very sensitive & dry lips, these kind of lipsticks are usually triggered my lips to become more chapped. Lucky me, huh? :( *sigh*

I almost only wear nude lipsticks or my lips but better colour lipsticks so never really notice if they fade or not…
but i re apply all the time

Lipstick lasts until I eat. I wear mattes so drinking doesn’t even phase them. However, I wipe my mouth a lot when I eat so I re-apply after meals.

It’s hard to know for sure since I usually eat a snack/drink tea or coffee throughout my day and that causes lipstick to usually last only 2-ish hours on me. I’m intrigued by everyone here who wears matte lipstick saying it lasts through drinking…maybe I should try matte lippies.

My lipsticks usually last eight hours or more for me, no matter what kind I apply and how much I eat and/or drink. I don’t even use any kind of primer! Interesting how this long time seems absolutely out of the norm. Well, on the other hand, eyeshadow fades or creases rather quickly on me, even with UDPP, so I guess that’s some kind of poetic justice.

lip products never stay on…that’s why I was never a lip makeup kind of girl. stopped buying lipsticks years ago.
