  1. Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal. It’s subtle and natural looking, perfect for every day use!

  2. Well, shoot. I really like Smashbox’s liquid luminizer, but when I went to find the product to give the exact shade and product name on Sephora’s website, I discovered it’s no longer listed there! Looks like it has been discontinued… But it is a golden lotion with a subtle glowy pink pearl that is really flattering on my pale warm-toned skin. It looks much more natural on me than a frosted white-pink pearl highlight, and the liquid looks much more natural on me than most powders I’ve used, too. Time to find a new favorite!

In regards to the smashbox highlighter, smashbox still sells it through them selfs, however in stores they sell their highlighter wands which is the same exact product, except in a click wand. I guess they figured the general consumer didnt need that much product! They sell the wands at ulta!

    • Thank you for response. That shade sounds perfect for my daughter & I. What is the name of that shade please? Thank you, would you be able to respond today please. Thank you. aak3

  3. I loveee mac strobe :) been using it for past 4 yrs

  4. I really love Smashbox Artificial Light Luminizing Lotion – I’m super pale and have fantastic luck with the ‘Diffuse’ shade. So sad it was discontinued.

BeneFit Girl Meets Pearl is great for daytime and ease of application. Since I started wearing it every day, people have asked me if I changed my face wash routine lol! For a little more shimmer I like the Josie Maran liquid highlighter. But the pump bottle is terrible because it always dispenses way too much, no matter how gently I press on it. I just end up opening the bottle and dipping a little Q Tip inside. But it truly is a gorgeous, not too frosty highlighter that works great on warm skintones.

I really love Benefit’s Hollywood Glo. It’s discontinued but I bought a backup that I’ve been using up and it lasts forever!

  7. Definitely the High Beam by Benefit because, being pink-tones, it looks very natural on my super pale skin! ;) Plus, it’s super easy to blend and stays put for hours!

Lately I’ve been using Benefit’s Sunbeam, which is very nice. I also like Sleek’s liquid highlighter in Empress which I think they don’t make any more, but which I wish they would bring back. Honestly probably the best I’ve tried is Accessorize’s liquid highlighters in the peachy shade and (especially) the bronzey shade. You get a LOT for the price and the finish is really nice. I prefer the more golden-bronzes for my skin tone (NC40-42). The worst one I’ve tried is No. 7′s liquid highlighter in the peachy shade. It’s not visible at all – and the packaging with the attached brush is awful.

I’m NC 30 and I love, love, LOVE Sunbeam! I have a miniature, and as soon as that’s over, I’ll surely get the full-size version!

  9. I love Tom Ford’s Skin Illuminator in Fire Lust. :)

  10. Benefit highbeam, I’m not original but it’s definitely my favorite one shade wise. I have pink undertones so on me it looks very flattering. I only wear cream and liquid highlighter I find it more natural.

  11. NARS Illuminator in Copacabana! A little goes a long way, I just like the nice sheen it gives. I also will mix it into my foundation for a more dewy look.

I’m very happy with Copacabana too :-) no fuss and lightweight but I’ve never dared mix it with my foundation…curious about the result though.

  12. YSL Touche Eclat is a real gem if you ask me :-) I like my highlighters without any shimmer, so that is why I like to use the Touche Eclat for highlighting.

Innisfree mineral shimmering base! It’s everything Mac strobe cream should have been.

I forgot to add Etude House Nymph Aura Volumer, that stuff is magical but a bit more nighttime going out and not so much for daytime

  15. Benefit High Beam was my go to for years, but I do find it runs a bit greasy, but not nearly as bad as MAC strobe cream. I have not tried MAC strobe liquid which I believe is less oily. Illamasqua Gleam is also far too greasy for my tastes. So, my fav at this point is Rouge Bunny Rouge Sea of Tranquility (the opalescent one). I really like the formula, would only change the pump delivery which is great from a hygiene standpoint, but one pump delivers enough for 10 applications for me. It’s difficult with my arthritic hands to feather this very strong spring loaded pump so I do find that aspect a bit frustrating. Love the product itself though.

  16. L’Oreal Magic Lumi primer! If they made a gold shade as well I buy it as it doesn’t interfere with the foundation like other liquid highlighters and it dries down on it’s own. ;)

I havent tried yet but i heard georgio armani sheer fluid no 2 is pretty good

  18. Poshified

Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel sheer illuminating fluid in Sunkissed! I don’t know why I didn’t discover it sooner.

  19. This post was really interesting to me. The only liquid highlighter I have tried is Benefit High Beam and I am not a fan.

  20. Honestly, the elf shimmering facial whip is $1 and I LOVE the way it looks on my skin. I apply it over foundation but under powder, and it gives the loveliest glow to the skin.

  21. Tony Moly’s Crystal Liquid Light in Gold Beam. Love it!

  22. I’ve only tried 2 or 3 and like them all – Benefit High Beam, MAC Strobe Cream (does that count?) and Clarins Light Reflecting Touch (or something like that….it comes in a small pump and it’s a pinky-white lotion)

  23. I agree with Kristine–NARS Copacabana has a special place in my heart, and it will last you forever!

  24. Ade

Having pores like grand canyon, I can only wear Giorgio Armani or Becca SSP or MAC Strobe that has refined shimmers (more like sheen rather than shimmer). But I also love Benefit MoonBeam (more than their other “beams”).

I haven’t tried many but I just bought the relaunched Revlon Skinlights in the light shade. It seems nice so far.

  26. I’ve only tried two but I really liked them. The first was MAC Golden Elixir Strobe Liquid. I LOVED using this all over under my foundation or powder to give a healthy beautiful glow. I’m also obsessed with MAC Barbados Girl Lustre Drops. It is so beautiful patted on my cheekbones and bridge of nose. I’m actually wearing it today lol

  27. I have Rouge Bunny Rouge’s Sea of Tranquility which is so beautiful, like silvery moonlight on your cheekbone. :)

  28. BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal and too cool for school’s Dinoplatz Pearl Bay Invasion Illuminator in Mother of Pearl. :)

  29. PianoGirl1985

I have to favorites: Becca skin shimmering perfector and Josie Maran illuminazer. Both have pros and cons however. I wish Becca would take out the parabens out of their products. If I’m paying a top dollar for a product, I’d like it to be most safe. The Josie Maran is more “natural” but you can see sparkles all over the place once the face catches the light.

  30. Benefit Sun Beam. I find it surprisingly flattering on my pale, warm toned skin.

  31. Josie Maran Argan Illuminator is definitely the best suited for my skin tone. I like mixing it into my foundation for an extra bit of glow. Looks great!

    I love mememe sunbeam

  33. Avatar of beka Beka

Armani fluid sheer #4-the yellow one. I have two others, but this is the best highlighter for me. There are so many, I’m sure everyone would be able to find their perfect highlighter color.

  34. Avatar of Dawn Dawn W.

The Balm’s Mary-Lou Minizer! LOVE IT!

  35. Revlon Age Defying Spa Illuminator. DC but cheap online, better than HE (imo), & available in different colors.

  36. Benefit’s Girl Meets Pearl?

    • Avatar of Andrea Andrea

I am an absolute sucker for cream or liquid highlighters. Since ever I got my first Strobe Cream, which I still love, I have been using highlighter no matter what. I mix it with my moisturizer, i use it on my cheek bones or my brow bones, or the tendons in my neck…etc. I love it. Have gotten so many different ones. Until I found Girl Meets Pearl. It is by far the most flattering one. Gives your skin a je ne sait quoi… To die for. Sure you can somewhat tell there is a highlighter there, but if buffed correctly…is like a dream. In other words… i agree with you. Lol.
