Hare Polish Married to the Monarchy Nail Lacquer
Hare Polish Married to the Monarchy Nail Lacquer

Hare Polish Married to the Monarchy Nail Lacquer ($10.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is described as a “blend of matte teal hexes and squares, rich red hexes and squares in varied sizes [with] silver shimmer.” It’s a mix of large, bright blue and red square and hexagon-shaped glitter with smaller silver shimmer in the background–and all suspended in a clear base.  It’s such a cheery mix of colors–and I think it could work over a lot of different base colors.

I applied two coats of the glitter top coat alone on my thumbnail so you can have a better idea of the density and composition of the top coat, and then one coat layered over Revlon Rose Gold. One coat (layered) has quite a bit of glitter, and the glitter distributed fairly evenly and easily despite the larger glitter pieces–I didn’t have to fish them out or anything–and I felt like there was a good balance of blue/red. The consistency wasn’t too thick or too thin, and it didn’t pool along the edges.  I usually get a week of wear out of Hare’s formula with no chipping and minor tip wear.

P.S. — The brand will be restocking their shop with the spring range soon!

A
If you like your glitter top coats to have more density (but still be in a clear base), this is one to consider. I also liked the consistency and dispersion I was able to get with this shade.

  1. I like this polish as much as your base polish of choice! The combination is stunning!

  2. This one with it’s high contrast glitter colours is too funkytown for my tastes.

  3. This looks very pretty layered over gold! Nice combo!

Not really very interested. I would have expected more of a true blue and true red with that name. It seems an off color combination.

  5. Very cute with the red and blue!

  6. Yellowlantern

This color combo makes me think of old 3-D glasses. Neat.

Not really a fan of this one at all.

I am a lover of nail art and I tend to go for the more wackier/out there look when it comes to my nails so I will definitely be giving this product a try.

Would love to see how this looks over another red or blue. I love teal and red together, very retro.
