Guerlain Noir G de Guerlain Mascara

Guerlain’s NEW Noir G is the first mascara to combine the extravagant luxury of a jewel case with an extraordinary formula for perfectly defined eyes. This fabulous case jealously guards a unique, complete formula that combines the power of color, extreme intensity and the secret of beauty. The lush texture makes it easy to achieve an intense, dramatic lash look without any risk of smearing, smudging or clumping. Like a magic wand, the ground-breaking Noir G goes one step further with a refillable wand applicator, making it convenient and easy to switch to a new one as soon as you need it. Pull on the case and with a click, the hidden mirror is revealed. Add a quick twist and the brush appears for exceptional lash results.

Features

  • Formula complex delivers a perfect 3-dimensional look with volumizing, lengthening and curling benefits.
  • Lashes are transformed: perfectly defined, denser and cloaked in a new intensity.
  • Refillable design makes replacing more convenient.

Formulation

  • Ultra Black Pigments: these carbon black pigments offer an unprecedented level of intense black. The optimal size of these pigments allows for a better dispersion within the formula while a magnifying effect amplifies the intensity and depth of the black and the glossy finish. These are the purest black pigments that can be found in mascara.
  • Volumizing, Lengthening, Curling formula: The formula plumps and thickens every lash, the stretch formula allows the mascara to lengthen even the smallest lashes and then the curling formula coats lashes in a protective film to maximise and set the curl.
  • Artemia Salina: helps to regenerate lashes by stimulating keratin for fortification and lash growth.
  • Polymer Film fixes the formula from daybreak to the end of the night, preventing the formula from smudging or flaking.

Exceptional Brush

  • In perfect osmosis with Noir G’s formula, the fiber brush is soft and supple for perfect, fast and even distribution over all the lashes. Narrow and extremely easy to handle, it glides everywhere, catching and wrapping around every lash above and below to reproduce the unprecedented effect of a blow-dry.

availability: Noir G is available January at Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, and Bergdorf Goodman. It will retail for $49, refills for $26.

I love that it is refillable! If only all high-end mascaras were!! :)

    perfect osmosis?????
really, these people are idiots and they have no idea what they are writing in the ads. one would expect though that they would have figured out how to use a dictionary.
if they are trying to sell me a mascara for almost fifty bucks, i want well written, snappy, professionally done ads or pr material.

The term osmosis does not apply solely to the scientific term of movement of a solvent through a semi-permeable membrane. Osmosis is also a process of absorption or diffusion.

I agree that osmosis was perhaps not the best word, but it’s not a complete disconnect.

Lord have mercy! The refills cost almost as much as a fully packaged tube of my regular mascara (Chanel Inimitable Intense, $30). Pretty as the packaging may be, if you look closely you’ll see that brush has been done by several other brands before. Too Faced was the first one that came to mind, and I’m sure I’ve seen others. As for Artemia as an ingredient? For those who don’t know, artemia is a type of plankton (an animal, not a plant). It can be purchased dried or frozen in any pet store in the fish food section.

Refills? Interesting. I always thought with the Guerlain lipstick it would be a shame once the lipstick was used up that the packaging would go to waste… Does the lipstick have a refill option as well?

aside from the very high price, my concern is with all the fancy ingredients, bottom line…is this product irritating to the eyes? especially, if you suffer from any allergies, i’m concerned about the fragrance. this 1 will definitely be tested first with a makeover. i really love the packaging but, to me that’s what you’re paying for…i love guerlain but, i thought it’s best to replace mascara every 3 months anyway for health and safety??? not sure my lifestyle warrants this…:(

  6. I like Guerlain…but Guerlain and YSL are known for selling refillable makeup and then discontinuing that refillable product. I have such refillable containers at home where I can no longer buy the refills. So irritating.

This looks so exciting! I am always on the hunt for the HG mascara and have yet to find one. And if the refills are only $30 then this could maybe be worth it! Christine, do you think you will be reviewing this???

  8. I love the packaging on this! I am really curious to see how it performs, as I am really picky about mascaras and still haven’t found one that I love. Although this is pricy, I like that it has a built in mirror and that it will (in theory) have less expensive refills.

  9. I’m curious about that, although I have to admit that mascara is one of the few areas where Guerlain has disappointed me. And I’m totally in love with YSL’s Faux Cils as well… I’ll wait to see some reviews (hint hint :-))

LOL at wanting snappy ads… I think the real test is how well the formula actually works, if it really wows with its color, lengthening and volumizing, if it has good staying power and doesn’t melt or flake off, and like another reviewer said, doesn’t irritate the eyes. I love the beautiful, refillable packaging, only problem being that after awhile it’s bound to get scratched up.

$49 for mascara? Please drug store mascara will do the same as any mascara will: coat your lashes. That’s it. Dont waste money on a 26 dollar refill either. But hey if you buy no hate, do as you please with your money although i just think its ridiculous to spend so much on a mascara.

Holt renfrew is currently giving out the sample of this mascara. if you happen to live in canada with holts in your vicinity, it’s worth checking out!

but I adooore their Rouge Gs

I hope they offer money back if this doesn’t do what they claim it does. Mascara is not “one size fits all” My sister is obsessed with Covergirl Lash Blash and it makes her lashes look amazing. However when I tried it…it was a MESS! I’ve been using Maybelline falsies mascara for a while and I love it…however it doesn’t work with a friend of mine that I recommended it too.
So if this Mascara is not liquid gold in a bottle I would want my money back.

Now that this is available on nordstrom, do you think you will review this mascara, Christine? Congrats again on your engagement and happy holidays! :D

This is actually an amazing mascara, surely HG material. I knew I would be interesting in it as I find most Guerlain products over the top but tried resisting it due to the price; it definitely is the most expensive mascara on the market and it costs something like 75 USD where I live. I visited a drugstore over the weekend and this time without eye or lip makeup on, which I never do but wanted to try new products. Somehow I ended up trying this mascara and was wowed by the results. It definitely is the very best I have tried and that is saying a lot as I am known to buy new ones and then toss them when I find out they are not working. I have sensitive eyes, I want a long lasting mascara but one that will not damage lashes and my lashes are sparse, short and straight. This mascara made my lashes look gorgeous almost like falsies; it curled, lenghtened and added volume without any clumping whatsoever, so irritation either despite the wonderful scent and it lasted all day. The refills cost half and if they discontinue them well I guess I will just stock up as this product is definitely worth it.
