Guerlain Gemma Le Rouge G de Guerlain Lipstick

Guerlain Gemma Le Rouge G de Guerlain Lipstick ($45.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a dazzling confection of medium pink with a golden glimmer. It applies opaque in one to two layers, and it looks natural yet still more color pop than a my-lips-but-better (MLBB) shade. I’m really a big fan of how smoothly and evenly the Rouge Gs apply, and Gemma is no exception. I think this color is universally flattering, because it’s a nice, neutral medium pink. The gold shimmer adds a little oomph to the color, too. This is a shade you could wear year-round, so this is definitely going to make its way into my everyday lip color stash.

  • Product: 28/30
  • Value: 7/10
  • Ease of Use: 4/5
  • Packaging: 4/5

Recommendation: This is one of my favorite shades that I’ve seen from the Rouge G lineup — it’s a very pretty in pink shade with just the right amount of shimmer.

  1. Lorna says:

it reminds me of MAC “a rose romance” but with more color payoff. nice shade.

  2. Tavia says:

I definitely like the color. This medium pink as you said it’s perfect to wear it every season. My only objection is the price:)

  3. Christy says:

This is gorgeous! I may look into picking this up if I get a gift card. Kinda reminds me of MAC Bombshell or Angel.

  4. Bettina says:

for a lighter pink shade, I kinda like this one. I personally think darker shades suit me better but I wouldn’t be opposed to at least trying this one.

  5. Catherine says:

This is so pretty – reminds me of LM’s Rosewater stickgloss which I am hoping arrives in the mail to me today.

  6. amy says:

Pretty! I love shades of pink like this.

  7. aradhana says:

this looks very pretty on you!! actually i think most of the lipsticks you swatch look really flattering on you, but this one’s almost blended to your skintone without actually looking ‘natural’ if you know what i mean…

  8. Rae says:

Gorgeous! The price tag is way outta my range, but I will definitely have to look for a shade dupe of this — it’s just perfect!

  9. iliang says:

Too bloody expensive for my pocket..it’s pretty though!!

  10. Ruth says:

Another one of my faves, I heart Rouge G

  11. Chrissy says:

Wow, I’d definitely pick this up if it weren’t so expensive!

  12. Christina says:

I am not afraid of spending money on makeup, and I buy a lot from higher-end brands…but $45 for a lipstick is absurd, even for me.

    • Christine says:

It’s expensive, and it’s mostly for the packaging (which is like… not my style, so I don’t value it at $15 extra). The lipstick itself is fantastic, but I don’t think you could say ANY lipstick is worth $45, lol.

  13. Gemma says:

I gave in and bought it because that’s my name and I NEVER find stuff with my name on it. It’s more hot pink on my skintone (oive/NC37).

  14. caroline says:

Christine, this is such an old review so I don’t if you will remember but, what is the swatch on the left in the photo?

    TIA! :)
