Giorgio Armani No. 08 Fluid Sheer
Giorgio Armani No. 08 Fluid Sheer

Giorgio Armani No. 08 Fluid Sheer ($59.00 for 1.0 fl. oz.) is a light-medium, shimmery pink with subtle cool undertones (it almost looks warm-toned on me, but it has a cotton candy-ish coloring overall). NARS New Order is lighter and more glittery. Lancome Moonlight Rose is lighter. powder. Illamasqua Lies is similar–a little warmer, less pink. Chanel Brompton Road is more matte. MAC Pink Buttercream is lighter and cooler-toned. See comparison swatches.

If No. 04 was too weird for you, and No. 06 was too intense, No. 08 is subtle but still delivers some color on fairer complexions. On my medium skin tone, it gave me a very, very faint pink coloring but primarily a dewy, glowy look that was lovely–healthy, natural, but not oily and didn’t emphasize pores. Even over drier skin, it doesn’t cling to the skin in a way that looks patchy or uneven. This shade is also sheer and subtle enough that it could be mixed in with foundation or moisturizer as a shimmered base. Depending on the ratio, it never reads too glittery or sparkly, but I’d experiment and see what level of shimmer you like most. It has a thin, liquid consistency that’s easy to stretch and blend on the skin, as well as with other products.  As a blush/highlighter, it lasted eight hours well with minimal fading but no patchiness.  Mixed with foundation, I didn’t notice any breakdown of my foundation (lasted as long as it the foundation would on its own).

P.S — Giorgio Armani Beauty is also having their Friends & Family sale now through the 30th, so that’s 20% off + free shipping when you spend $75. I’m trying to get through all the shades I have before the sale is up–two more to test (today and tomorrow)!

The Glossover

No. 08

Here's a shade that's difficult to overdo, and for lighter complexions, could work as both a blush as well as a highlighter. What I also saw was that it didn't go ashy or chalky on my medium complexion, which was refreshing as a lot of lighter pinks can do this, so it can work as a highlighter across a multitude of skin tones.

If this product is giving you that lovely pink blush glow, i must buy this NOW.
I am always on the hunt for a simple, clean pink (nothing that pulls brown or purple) as a fresh-looking blush. I have been tempted to purchase the Burberry Pink Peony blush but i’m loving the texture of these fluid sheers. Are you SURE that the FS doesn’t emphasize pores because this will be the deciding factor.
Would love to hear your comments on the Peony blush (powder) vs the Fluid Sheer #8.

    • LOL! Well, it’s the only thing I’m wearing on my cheeks :)

Peony will give more color and less shimmer. If you want to be on the safe side, then I’d go Peony. I would say I have normal pore size? Not invisible but never something I’ve looked at and gone, “Why so massive?” This definitely doesn’t for me.

I bought this shade yesterday and I love it! I put it over #9 to tone down the dark berry color. :)

What are you wearing on your lips Christine?

    • Giorgio Armani #519 Flash Lip Lacquer!

      • Emily

Is that a new, not-yet-released shade, or are you referring to Flash Lacquer #523? Thanks!

        • Sorry about that! It’s actually #519 Flash Lip Lacquer :)

          • Emily

No problem! Thanks for correcting it everywhere. (By the way, is it disconcerting for you that we care so much about every product you put on your face, or are you just used to it by now?

            • LOL! I don’t think I’m used to it, because sometimes I forget to put it not really thinking anyone will ask!

I wrote the review for #519 last night, and at 2AM, I was like, “Wait, didn’t I write #523 on previous posts? GAH NOOOOO!”

  4. Cute, girly and pretty. Perfect!

  5. I am so completely undecided between 06 and 08. I’m certain I could make a case for both but really should just pick up one. I can’t ever imagine remotely finishing an entire bottle. Also, I love your lips in these photos. What a beautiful finish/colour.

    • #6 is great for blush + lips, but #8 is obviously easier to use up just because it is sheerer/softer. #6 is almost like the lip in this, though, which is Giorgio Armani #519 Flash Lip Lacquer! :)

  6. Pink Elephant

Pricey but so pretty- fresh faced & gorgeous!

  7. So subtle and pretty on you, absolutely love it. Reminds me of this product Clinique used to have years and years ago… Base something, I can’t remember the full name, but it was very very similar

  8. This is very pretty but so light.

  9. I can’t believe how pretty this is! This would be great for my fair (pink-toned) skin!

I was eyeing these at the mall today when I went to check out the Maestro foundation, and they are a rather interesting product. This one would be a very nice highliging blush for us pale folk. :) I’m not sure if any of the colors really grab me enough for the price, but I’ll have to give them another look when I do a makeup haul!

  11. I love this! Do you have #12 or #3 to test? I wanted #11 but it is sold out :( SO I am trying to decide between those two. Can you maybe recommend one or the other or another? Thanks!

It looks very pretty on 😀
