Great advice! :) Diluting is a good way to minimize the orange-ness.

Hey Daycee!

I exfoliate every 2-3 days for body, and I use a mild exfoliant everyday on my face (generally in my face cleanser).

I'll be recommending self-tanners in the next few weeks :)

Hey MariahGem! That really sucks that things turn orange you - however, sometimes it's a matter of trying multiple products before you find the right one. It's a bad idea to wear any light clothing in the first 12 hours after applying as it could definitely rub off onto your clothes!!

I have used several tanners with good luck thus far, I will be doing reviews in the coming weeks so watch for them!

oh and instead of a gradual tanner like jergens natural glow etc. take a normal strength tanner and dilute it with bodylotion (queen helene cocoa butter lotion is good) if you get orange try diluting too

nature bronze from yves rocher is one of the browner tones
clinique in dark or deep is a very well know great tanner its one of the more golden self tanners
really dark is possible too with an airbrush solution i like react
for a darker lotion you can try sun laboratoires ultra dark

really important is exfoliate proberly and moisturize daily so the tanner fades more even i start over with a new coat every 5 day
in between body make up and bronzers can even out an old sunless tan

check this site out and the board out its great (all about sunless tanning) www.sunless.com
