Welcome to Free For Haul Fridays!

A play on Oh No They Didn’t’s “Free For All Fridays,” every Friday is Free For Haul Fridays! Friday is a day for fun — whether you’re already off enjoying your weekend or if you just need a way to get through til the end of the work day, FFH is here for you!

Share your latest beauty hauls! Once you’ve done that… say anything you’d like.   Tell us about the greatest thing that happened to you this week, why your pet is the cutest, what you’re doing this weekend… whatever!

First, I’ll share mine!

I bought the Alice in Wonderland palette to review it for the blog, and I’m about to head to MAC to pick up the new permanent shades for review as well!  It’s been a rather tame week, I’d say :) I’m just SO SO looking forward to the long weekend (no school on Monday, woo woo!).

Now… have at it!

I recently indulged in a new custom quad from MAC, and Urban Decay’s 24/7 Liner in Flipside. I also couldn’t resist grabbing one of UD’s lipsticks- I got Naked, and I love it! I’m definitely addicted.

  2. HC

I just bought the UD Alice in the Wonderland palette too! I am excited! I can’t wait for your reviews on both that and the bright MAC shades!

  3. I picked up stuff from Love Lace and Warm & Cozy today, since it was the release date in Sweden for those two =) Mulled cider, Love lace, Suave intentions, Warm me up, Feelin’ good and By candlelight got to come homw with me =)

  4. Roxanne

I’ve been naughty this week and went to MAC before my finals were through (they are now though, FINALLY). I bought Light Affair and Sense Of Style, which is sadly not as blue-green as I hoped (but I still like it). Light Affair was such a PITA to apply. I kept redoing my nails over and over (I swear, the bottle is 1/4 empty by now) but I finally pulled it off and I LOVE the color. It’s so interesting and basically matches EVERYTHING. Apparently I own a lot of clothes (even some underwear!) that includes this milky greyish lilac, who would’ve known? :)
Other than that, I’ve just ordered something from Yves Rocher because they sent us a promotion: pay €15, get a free mascara + kit with makeupbag + a pack with lots and lots of samples (can’t remember the name, Supreme Luxe Edition or something like that)! I bought a day cream for my mother and two nailpolishes for myself (a subdued fuschia purple and a greyish green). Talk about a good deal, huh?
I’ve also received the Desperate Housewives’ cook book! I love that show :) I can’t wait to make paella or tamales, ariba!

I had a day off today and have to start my internship on Monday (I’m still in school but have to work with a company for 3 months to gain experience, yk? Couldn’t think of any word that would fit this description). I’m a little nervous!
I’m going to have a pretty laidback weekend. Maybe shop a little tomorrow, cook something nice, clean up on Sunday… I’m so happy I’m done with my finals (I feel like I need to cherish this feeling before my results are in, LOL)!

What’s your weekend going to be like, Christine? Any exciting plans? :)

    • Let me know how the cooking goes! Always looking for new (preferably easy) recipes, lol.

What’s your internship for? Good luck 😀

      • Roxanne

Okay, I will. I just made myself a pasta salad with chicken and feta. Hmmmm, cheesy!

I don’t think there’s an English/American equivalent for where I’ll be working :( In short, it’s a department that works for and with a school (preschool, elementary school, high school, universities,… depending on their specialty) and provides student guidance such as help with anxiety, help with orientation, help with learning or personal problems, medical examinations and vaccination, prevention,… Too much to list. It mainly focuses on psycho-medical-social issues of all kinds. Gnnn… I hate it when I can’t explain sth! Anyway, I’ll be working with kids, taking (IQ) tests, having conversations with them and their parents,… etc.

Okay, enough babbling! Be sure to show us your palettes when you’re finished!! 😀

        • I get it! I don’t know exactly what one would call that position, but I get what you’re going to be doing for the most part :) Sounds like you’ll be helping & doing a lot of good!

  5. Tatyana

I also just got the new Alice in Wonderland palette from Urban Decay. This week I picked up MACs in Lillyland collection, their new permanent shadows (all), Urban decay items (mostly shadows and smokey pencils). So it has been a pretty eventful week and I need a break. As you know, Spring Forecast collection is coming out, and that will be a bank breaker, I am planning on getting every single thing. :)

  6. Amber

Here we go!!!!!!! I hauled big today =)
Found Rouge G de Geurlain le shade Gems on ebay!!!!!!!! ECSTATIC!!!!!!
Also bought Guerlain Cherry Blossom Blush, Chanel Rouge Allure in Delicieuse, Chanel Glossimer in Maline, Chanel quad in Kaska Beige and the new Hydrationist moisturizer from Estee Lauder.
Also hauled 6 new polishes, including Absolutely Alice and Mad As A Hatter from the OPI Alice in Wonderland collection!

  7. I just got in a big ol’ order from Mac. Well, big for me. And all first-time buys with these products.
    – Blacktrack Fluidline
    – Painterly Paint Pot
    – Blushbaby blush
    – Smut eyeshadow

Wearing 2 out of the 4 today! Am going to try Fluidline and Blushbaby tomorrow. Other than that, I really want to get the AiW palette, but $52 is pretty steep. I’ll probably wait for your review to see if it’s worth it 😉

    • At least, on the plus side, even if you wait and it’s gone, they’re all normal UD shadows, just renamed, so if you LOVE a shade, you can grab it later!

  8. Toni

Hi Christine! Happy Friday! :) I’ve been on a no-buy the past 3 weeks because I was saving up for a Clarisonic – finally bit the bullet and purchased it for 20% off! Yah! I’m excited and hope it will finally give me the same results that a lot of people are raving about.

Oh, and thanks (no thanks? LOL) to your oldie-but-goodie review of Guerlain’s spring 09 that I re-visited a couple of days ago, I might just head on over to Vitativ during my lunch hour to pick up some Guerlain’s spring ’09 glosses that I resisted and walked away from a couple of weeks ago. All three were there then – let’s see if I’ll be a lucky girl today, he he….

  9. Marissa B

I’ve been on vacation so not too much beauty shopping but I did pick up a MAC Tempting e/s and Ricepaper e/s in Bangkok Airport which was exciting, I always hear things about the Tempting quad and I absolutely love the color :)

ps. What is the Alice in Wonderland palette?

    • Marissa B

Nevermind, I just checked it out on urban decay and i’m in love, it’s my favorite Disney movie! Can’t wait for your review :)

    • Megan

Its a palette from urdan decay with the Alice in Wonderland theme..since the film comes out in March. None of the colors a new..just renamed for the flim..i.e Alice and Madhatter.Hope this helps!

    • Where’d ya go on vacation, Marissa B?

      • Marissa B

Went home to Thailand for 3 weeks…It was amazing :) but it’s time to get back to school!

Btw after I commented earlier I made a stop at Ulta and got the Stila convertible color in Petunia and the new Benefit Sugarbomb…after your review, i’m excited to try it!

  10. Mel

I bought the Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows too! I can’t wait to get it and start playing with it!

  11. cloudburst

I got the Coquette quint, the Poudrier Dentelle highlighting powder, and Silver Pearl nail polish from the Dior spring collection. Tomorrow I’m off to finish the job by getting the Pearl Glow quint & the Dentelle blush! Whew!!!

  12. Anna

I got the too faced neutral palette because it was so pretty in store and the packaging was so cute! I also got the Clarins Hydraquench cooling cream-gel and I don’t like how alcohol is the 2nd ingredient, so I”m returning. Any recs for a good night moisturizer that I can buy at Sephora with my giftcard?

My rabbit had surgery on her leg, and a lot of feces was stuck to it so I tugged a little and it came off by itself. Maybe I shouldn’t have down that b/c I think I ripped some skin off! @_@. Oh and shes a rex rabbit with dalmatien colouring and she looks like a cross between a panda and a cow 😀

  13. anissag

So i finally got around to using up my sephora gift cards I got the shu eumura eyelash curler, bare minerals matte, bad gal lash in plum, stila kajal in topaz, and the illamasqua sealing gel. then my MAC haul I got 3 of the mac in lillyland creme blushes in joie-de-vivre,florida,and so sweet so easy, and the technakohl liner in purple dash, then the only thing i got from the warm7 cozy collection is the cuddle shade stick.

  14. Kelly

My baby haul this week was a part 2 purchase from the Warm & Cozy collection. I got the Feelin Good & Close for Comfort Lip Conditioners, and Shadesticks in Nurture and Relaxed. I don’t know what it is, but that collection keeps calling me back for more! I can’t wait for holiday on Monday also! I am so looking forward to the much needed me time and I’m considering starting my own blog. This is too fun!

  15. Karen

I ordered guerlain parure gold foundation (LOVE), Nars hydrating ‘lotion’/toner, and Guerlain Rouge Broderie (the new strass formula).
Working on my dissertatio this weekend! Yuck.

  16. Dee

I just bought a ton of NYX products. I’ve never even used them before but for one dollar I couldn’t resist. At the moment I’m very shocked to find out my friend has a child…

  17. Mel

This week was totally a polish week for me, haha. I got Nicole by OPI’s Let’s Get Star-ted, and China Glaze’s Dorothy Who?, C-C-Courage, Atlantis, and Nova. Now I’ve got ~35 polishes, and the collection is growing fast.

And I started school this week, which is actually VERY exciting for me! I am loving my classes.

  18. Megan

I havent bought anything…no money! But I plan to remedy that when my funds come in!

  19. I just got my NYX haul this morning: blush in Taupe (to be used for contouring), mosaic blush in Highlight, jumbo pencil in Milk, and concealer stick in Yellow. Everything was super cheap – hooray for saving money!

  20. Yay I don’t have school on monday too! I just ordered the Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows the instant when Urban Decay posted on twitter that it was on sale. Now im on a goose chase looking for any ULTA locations to see if they have any Alice in Wonderland OPI nail polishes. Christine, do you any beauty supply shops online that have great service (Incase ULTA doesn’t have the nail polishes)?

  21. lily

just MAC All Races e/s for me! i’m waiting for Spring Colour Forecast because im suspecting a majour haul… BTW Christine did u get an invitation from MAC @ Valley Fair? it looks really cool!

  22. NY

    * Sumptuous Olive eyeshadow
    * Lilly Pulitzer Florida Cremeblush
    * Light Affair nailpolish
    * Hello Kitty Fun & Games blush
    * Dazzleglass Steppin’ Out
    * Large Z-palette
    * Some round magnets for my first attempt at depotting!

  23. Solange

My new Sigma brushes arrived last night and I was expecting them next week!!! (I´m from Argentina) I already used some of them this morning and so far they are great. Today I bought a bottle of “Life” by Regina Kuligovsky, a famous makeup artist here, that´s supposed to do the same job MAC´s Strobe Lotion does.

  24. Elysia

ooo I am so exited to read your review on the alice and wonderland kit!

  25. Nicci

Going to get the 24/7 Urban Decay eye pencils – the one that comes in the set (little late in the game getting it!) and La Prairie Satin foundation. I tried the foundation out this week and I love it. I really really like the primer from LP too and I tried that out as well but I can’t see paying $115 for primer!

  26. Macaddict

All the 8 “new” permanent shades of eye shadows: Aren’t they already permanent at Pro stores??? I have some of them and I checked their website and they are all there… Just confused…
My last haul was last week:
    MAC in Lillyland:
all the cream blushes (LOOOOOVEEEEE!) I prefer the cream blushes to the powder ones any day so, for me, it was a no-brainer to get them all! Plus the colors are totally my style! :-)
I’m glad that I always put all the stuff of all the LE collections on hold ahead of time because 3 of the 4 cream blushes were sold out before the middle of the afternoon on the day it came out!
I also got all the lip gelees (I usually don’t care for them cuz they are not pigmented enough but THESE!!! Wow!)
I also got the purple eyeliner
    All Ages/Races/Sexes:
    I got 2 e/s (All Races – love – and Banshee
    the 2 blushes
    Siss l/s
    Taupe eyebrow pencil
    Plus I bought me some skincare stuff that I needed (it’s what I call the “boring but necessary” stuff);
    – Fix +
    – Blot powder (I keep dropping them on the floor when brand new or barely used, I swear I’m doomed! I go through probably 15/year of those based on the fact that I’m cursed
    – Make-up remover wipes
    – Prep & Prime Face primer SFP50
Also, based on your wonderful reviews, I purchased Guerlain Gold Parure foundation (same tint as you) and can’t wait to start using it! But first, must finish my current one!

VERY MUCH looking forward to the MAC Spring Forward collection!!! Oh man! Am I ever gonna get broke! It’s by far, in my opinion, superior to Freedom of London! I want me all of the stuuf from the purple and pink collections + some of the neutral and peach/orange ones!!!
The launch date is close enough to Valentine’s Day that I can “smooch” my way to my bf (I already hinted…lol)

    • They’re *all* permanent at both PRO and freestanding stores, but 2 (Winkle & Sunny Spot) are brand new, period, and 2 are repromotes of previously limited edition shades (Free to Be & Lucky Green) — the others were permanent at PRO stores but are now permanent at freestanding stores as well.

    • Cherie

I’m not sure if your blot powder was a solid or already loose powder… so, for what it’s worth… A while back I dropped my MSF natural, it went everywhere and the case was not usable any more. I put all the broken powder into a MAC container with those little holes in the top and now I can use the remaining product :)

    • Rosanna

I wish I could afford those 3 cream blushes! You’re so lucky!

  27. Caitlin

This week I placed a sephora order b/c I had 10% off for earning the VIB status. I picked up theBalm Shady Lady volume 2 (I am in love with their shadows), and the benefit 2 go kit. Today I bought the new maybeline lash stiletto volume mascara.

  28. Soly

I just got a MAC order:
    Feline Power Khol
Woodwinked, All that Glitters, Aquadisiac, Mulled Cyder and Modelette eyeshadows
    Warm Me Up lipstick
    Painterly Paint Pot

I must say, I LOVE it all!

  29. Samantha

    Just received:
Korres Wild Rose Lip Butter – LOVE!
Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla Shampoo – Very Nice
Cover FX Powder Foundation – not impressed – will probably return – kind of chalky
Benefit Dr. Feelgood – Doesn’t seem to do anything…maybe I’m using it incorrectly?

  30. I’m actually pretty proud of myself because I haven’t hauled any beauty items in two weeks!! I’m trying really hard to do a low-buy and I want to save up for that Dior blush hehehe.

However, the SaSa order I made right after Christmas finally came in yesterday so I got my My Beauty Diary Sheet masks and the little freebie cookie mirror – which is tons cuter than I thought it would be – and the second order is supposed to be redelivered today!!

  31. Nicole

I haven’t bought any make-up last week, just 3 cookbooks.

  32. Rosa Napoleon

I just got Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland palette..I love the colors. Some the shades are same in the Bake palette and Book of Shadows II. I colors are awesome and some glittery but really nice. If you have the Get Baked palette than you will see the same 3 of those shadows in the palette. Baked, Twice Baked and Half Baked. I think they look the same.

  33. Lia

I am going to my first professional conference this weekend, and it was so nice to be able to get dressed up and wear more then just mascara and powder! I broke out the gel eyeliner and spent a good deal of time making sure I looked natural and pretty. First time wearing lipstick in maybe 6 months!

I also found 60 bucks on the street this morning, I think I’ll be getting a facial! I’m just taking it as a sign that things are looking up! Looking for a job is doing a number on my skin.

  34. Vijaya

I just bought a bunch of UD stuff. The purple and green smoke out pencils, three shadows, the Buddha brush and four glosses. And I’m totally going to Lush and Sephora tomorrow, so I’ll probably be coming home with a couple of big hauls.

I think I’m going to get the Alice in Wonderland palette, too. Is the only place that it’s being sold the UD website, Christine?

    • Nice! What are you planning to get at Lush & Sephora?

It will be available at Sephora at the very least, but not until later on. Probably like late January or early February. has the exclusive right now.

      • Vijaya

At Lush, I wound up getting the ‘Cupcake’ mask, dark angels exfoliator, Honey I Washed the Kids, Porridge, Rock Star, 2 Angel’s Delights and one Father Frost (the store I went to was still having the buy one get two free promotion), a bath bomb whose name I can’t remember, and retread. At Sephora I got philosophy’s Microdelivery peel, and a UD Lip Envy in Greedy, as well as a sample of MUFE’s HD Foundation (I felt like I should try it at home before making a final decision). Mostly I wound up trying on glosses and blushes for quite a while, and now I have a huge list of things I really want!

I both love AND hate when that happens.

  35. Karli

I just got a haul from the recent Urban Decay sale at Haute Look. (Everything was under $10! I couldn’t resist.)
I got eyeshadow in Chains and Acid Rain, Ultraglide lipgloss in Quiver, O, and Heat, two Big Buddha Brushes (one for me and one for my mom), and Lingerie and Galoshes Mascara for my mom.
And all that for only $40!

  36. montygrl4131

I went a little crazy. I guess that’s what happens when I get holiday pay. Anyway, here it goes:
MAC: Joie-de-Vivre; Florida (cause it’s my home state-LOL); So Sweet, So Easy; Universal Mix
Sephora: Benefit’s Glitz and Glam gloss set (I recently tried I’m with the Band, and loved it, so I had to get more.)
UD: Alice in Wonderland palette (can’t wait for the movie, and still looking for the OPI polishes (so sad)), Razor Sharp powder, and the 24/7 hi-fi sets (cause they were on sale, and I’m addicted to the liners).

Probably going to try to go on a no buy until Give me Liberty of London. Right…

  37. I headed to MAC and bought Courderoy and Brun pro pan refills (To complete my 2 brown palettes), Vanilla and a replacement Vapour refill to complete my nude palette and crystal and poison pen for my purple palette.

I picked up Dazzlegalsses in Love Alert, Baby Sparks, Steppin Out and Extra Amps. Some brushes- 212, another one I cant remember and another 217 as you can never has enough!

Other bits were- Dark Soul pigment, Dervish Lip pencil, and Blushes in Cubic and Pinch O Peach. Then I got some back ups in Smoulder kohl, Lingering brow, Med Min skinfinish, Fix + and Moisturelush moisturiser!

If that wasn’t enough..I purchased 22 eyelashes! I feel like my kit is complete…and I won’t be buying anything for a while!

  38. Sixx

This week I picked up Slimshine Voile @ at a fairly new MAC counter by my work.

But here’s why I’m so upset I bought it from there: I wanted to try some gloss but couldn’t spot the disposable wands anywhere so I asked the MAC lady if they had any more lipgloss wands left. She pointed to a container in a corner, I said “thanks” and then—she had the guts to say to ME: “Make sure you don’t double dip!”

Omg I was so offended! I may be overreacting but I can’t help being offended over the digusting fact that she presumed I would double dip. I’m sure some people may have done it in the past (GROSS) but HELLO, she should not have pre-judged me in that offensive way.

But I am more upset I didn’t wait to buy it at my “regular” MAC counter where most everyone knows me. Arrgh.

But thanks for letting me let off steam!

  39. Sarah

I bought the Alice in Wonderland palette too! I hope you get a chance to do some tutorials with it! I’m a makeup newbie and not quite sure how to use some of the brighter colors!

  40. mkdallas

Hauled in 2 new lippies and promptly sent both back, sadly. One was YSL Rouge Volupte #30, Faubourg Peach (Spring 2010; the color didn’t really match the website swatch and was REALLY peachy…not in a good way, lol) and MAC Warm & Cozy, which also leaned to almost an orange peach on me. Today’s haul included 2 of the new Sally Hansen Total Salon Manicure polishes that were recommended on here by several people in the the “Worst Nail Polish” thread….they were $8 each (as much as OPI & Essie), so I’ll be interested to see how they compare when I get a mani/pedi tomorrow. Finally, I hauled a bit of Cargo from Sephora at 50% off; got a lipgloss, concealer (great stuff, I might add) and a pressed powder.

    • Oh no :( I think I may have ordered that lipstick, LOL. I bought 2 items from YSL’s F&F sale but haven’t opened the box yet. Hmm, I don’t think Spring was available yet, so maybe I didn’t, hmm!

  41. DECORATING my new apartment with my hubby. SO excited. I wish that MAC eyeshadows colors would come in paint decor too haha!

  42. Laura

I went shopping after work yesterday and bought:

    – Urban Decay 1999 24/7 liner – haven’t tried it yet but it’s a lovely colour! I love how soft UD liners are.

    – Some Revlon cream eyeshadows to use as bases (I’d heard they were a good cheap alternative to MAC paint pots)! Tried one today and no creasing…so far so good 😀

Margin blush from MAC. I pretty much NEVER wear blush and decided I needed to start, so I went to my local MAC counter and basically asked one of the girls there to choose one for me, lol! I plan on buying a selection eventually, but this one looks good to start with. Any suggestions for a second blush would be appreciated…I have red hair and fairish skin 😀

    I got MAC brushes 210 and 182…just because I needed them 😀

Laura Mercier mineral foundation primer – liking this very much so far – my mineral powder foundation went on so smoothly this morning!

    – Some Origins skincare stuff just because I ran out.

I desperately want the UD Alice in Wonderland palette, but it’s not out in the UK yet and I think there are only going to be 2000 or something released here…so I probably won’t get one :(

    • Which Revlon shades did you grab, Laura?

You could try Peaches for a matte “skin brightening” kind of shade. Springsheen is also pretty, though warm (don’t know if you want that…). Coygirl and Well Dressed are nice for pinky shades!

      • Laura

I got the Wild Orchids set, and I think the other one was Moonlight Jewels..? I’m just starting my “proper” make-up collection so trying to get a few temporary cheap substitutes as I build up my high-end stuff :)

Thank you for the blush tips – I will definitely check those out! I might go for something pinkish as Margin is quite peach…Coygirl and Well Dressed look lovely.

  43. In my urban decay cart, I have:

    -Alice in Wonderland BOS
    -24/7 super stash
-eyeshadow primer potion duo (original & sin)
-razor sharp ultra definition finishing powder

I’m also debating on whether or not to buy a backup of Most Popular lipstick. I love that lipstick from the HK collection and still has some left (albeit not from the HK collection).

    • If you’ve used it up a lot, I’d get a backup, but if you don’t… then maybe not :)

      • I’m just scared of losing it, because I seem to misplace it a lot. Although it has a tendency to show back up after a couple of days… But what if one of these days it doesn’t come back?

lol, it’s probably just an irrational fear, but lipsticks hide really well in my purses. I’m still waiting for my favorite concealer to come back to me!

  44. Erica

Since I have almost all of the Alice shadows already, I decided to skip it, even though the packaging is adorable! Instead, I did a mini Mac haul, replenishing a couple basics, and getting a couple things from recent collections. I got:

    – Bare Study paint pot
    – Vanilla eyeshadow
    – By Candlelight MSF
    – Joie-De-Vivre cremeblend blush
    – Shift to Pink lipgelee

The last three I got based on swatches, pics, and recommendations from you, so thanks!

  45. aradhana

    yesterday i had a mini-haul:

i bought a garnier eye cream (with caffeine…for my under eye circles…begone!)

an ombre stretch from bourjois in infinite green (a teal shade) It really does last a long time – It stayed on from morning till I went to the gym after work and still looked fresh! christine – have you tried this product/shade before? i think you might like it…

and an urban decay smoke out kit in ju-ju…
i’ve been eyeing the smoke out kit for a while now, so i thought i’d finally splurge…it’s perfect for my gym kit…even has a wee mirror that flips out of the (cardboard) box…i was pretty surprised how much i like it…even the dinky brush! it’s not practical, and it slows me down slightly, but i feel the portable factor combined with the remaining products wins out!
the only thing missing to make it a ‘complete’ eyes kit would be a mini udpp….

  46. AngelWingz

I got the UD Alice In Wonderland palette, OPI Alice In Wonderland mini nail polish set, Dior Addict lipstick “Vintage Coral”, Dior Ultra-Gloss Reflect “Linen Beige”, and on a whim, 4 L’Oreal HIP loose pigments (Rebel, Valiant, Beckoning, Exciting) and all 4 shades of the metallic eyeliners. Just started a new job and what better way to burn your first paycheck than on makeup?

  47. Emily

I just got bold and and brazen E/S in the mail today from ebay, and I just ordered the Stereophonic Eyeliner Set and Alice in Wonderland Palette from urban decay’s website :) I also got a package from MAC in the mail Monday with Banshee and AMber lights E/S :)

  48. Aramis

i went to mac 2day and got smolder eyeliner(hopefully it wont disappoint me like feline),tete-a-tint and the orange creme blush. ANd the only eyeshadow i wanted from the warm and cozy mulled cider was sold out=( ehh might have to check out my local macys

  49. amy

I picked up the following: Korres Jasmine Body Butter and Lip Butter set; MAC Cremeblend blushes in So Sweet So Easy and Florida; MAC Lipgelees in Preppy and Shift to Pink; Chanel Nail Lacquer in Particuliere; OPI Alice in Wonderland LE nailpolishes in Mad as a Hatter and Absolutely Alice.

  50. Cherie

So, here are the products I picked up since the start of the year:

    – banshee and modelette e/s
    – Resort Life and Preppy lipgelee (B2M the latter)
    – So Sweet, So Easy cremeblend blush

    – NARS Mata Hari (perrrrrfect with So Sweet, So Easy – I’m MAC NW15 for reference)
    – Smith’s Rosebud Salve (how have I lived without this??)

Shoppers Drug Mart (used my Optimum points and only paid $12!!!!!)
    – Smashbox Eye Lid Primer
    – Benefit’s full-finish lipstick in sassy frass
    – Quo creamblush brush

  51. Steph B

Syrup is my go-to pink-nude lipstick. I absolutely love it. But, for work I wanted something a little more opaque as I think it would look more professional and fit better with a suit. After much swatching at the MAC store(my lips are seriously chaffed!), I went with Hot Gossip. Pinker than I’d like but beautiful. I may swing by Sephora and check out Lady’s Choice.

Also picked up Giovanni’s Nutrafix Hair Reconstructor. A great silicone-free choice for curly girls.

I just went out today and bought Era and Fig. 1 from MAC as well as a replacement 239 cause my old one dissappeared :/ Andd I stopped by the Benefit counter and got Sugarbomb…I went for coralista initially but I had JUST been reading about it on here and how you always use it, and the girl at the counter covinced me as well lol

I didn’t realize the Alice in Wonderland palette was out already!

  53. I actually got a lot of stuff from MUFE this week. Thank you so much for your 30 days of MUFE a while back! The samples at my Sephora are always so dirty you can’t really tell the color.

    star powder: 90960, 90910
    eyeshadows: 39, 99, 153

-Amazing Cosmetics Little Amazing Concealers. I got 2 of them bc they’re on a buy one get one free deal! I’ve used them for the past 2 days but I’m not sure they live up to the hype.. It’s an okay concealer, not anything “AMAZING” as people say!
-Some Neutrogena makeup remover / cleanser etc.
-Urban Decay Primer Potion in Original and Sin. It’s $26 for both as a duo full-size online! (not sure about in store)

-brow pencil in Spiked (NEW FAV!)
-Nurture shadestick. Although I might be returning this.. I’ve used it for the past week but I don’t like it much..
    -Liqueur lipglass (LOVE!!)

I can’t wait for your Alice in Wonderland review! I haven’t placed my order yet.. I’m waiting for it to be at Sephora so I can get my Beauty Insider points 😛

Heading over to NYX website right now.. as soon as I press the “Submit Comment” button lol

    • Oh yeah, Colour Forecast is gonna be killer on the wallet!

I hope you like the Neutrogena Oil-Free Makeup Remover!

    • Jenni

Neutrogena oil-free eye makeup remover is the best!! I’ve been using it for the past 5+ yrs. Affordable and works really well. I also love the wipe version of this. Try it if you have the chance!

I’m on a HUGE no-buy right now. I got a little fired from my job for a STUPID reason right before Christmas and I’m in the awful place where my money is tight but unemployment hasn’t quite kicked in yet and I have another week before I’ll be able to do my taxes.

I’m not destitute or anything but I am NOT in a spending money position. Depressing since I cashed out some stocks two weeks ago but they’re still tied up in red tape. It’s like “Oh, that 300 dollars, yeah you can’t touch it until Tuesday now” and I literally sold them a couple days after Christmas. Huge hassle.

  57. Went to MAC today and got a new 239 brush as my old one is dying due to use with MES from Style Black. I can’t seem to get my old one clean enough. I also got Liquer lipglass and Universal Mix pigment. Then I went to Sephora and got Too Good For Him nail polish from Sephora by OPI. Since I had over 500 points, I got the Sephora by OPI nail polish set with Personal Shopper, Dear Diary… and I’m with Brad. I’ve actually been pretty good this week :) I’m hoping to get the UD Alice in Wonderland palette once they have it in store, although I may just order it online since I tend to be impatient.

    • Aww :( I found MAC’s brush cleaner really does help get brushes clean, though I still prefer and use baby shampoo more often than not. I also try to wash them ASAP whenever I use dark or vibrant shades!

On Monday my order from the MAC in Lillyland collection arrived. I got Joie de Vivre blushcreme, both the Pearlmatte shadow and powder and lipgelee in Resort Life. In addition, I placed an order with Hautelook during their Urban Decay sale. Yep, it was a busy week:-D

I bought some back up of my Revlon Colorstay foundation since it was BOGO. I bought UD’s De-Slick powder. Also some lash adhesive since I realized I lost mine or threw it out. Three nail polishes from Sally Hansen’s complete salon series (the new one). I saw the Alice palette at Macy’s tonight but I am only missing three shadows and it’s so not worth it because I already own repeats of some due to owning so many of their palettes!

I recently took advantage of a Revlon BOGO, and got the age defying spa concealer, two matte eyeshadow shades, and the colorstay mineral finishing powder in brighten. I am trying to decide if I want to try their new Photoready foundation or rebuy my tinted moisurizer (Cosmedicine Honest Face) that I’m almost out of.
